what the hell is going on?

-

Kugisaki let them go from the tight hug, "if we don't do anything about this invasion, then all three of us could find ourselves dead."

I ...

Really ...

Don't care.

Go ahead keep telling yourself that.

'your parents can't haunt you forever.'

Y/n found herself smiling.

.
.

.

"I think we should split up then," y/n finally spoke. The smile still etched onto her face. Fushiguro thought she looked pretty, but didn't dare voice his thoughts or make any sort of facial expression. The blush was a bit hard to control, but he managed.

"Why?"

And, of course, Fushiguro didn't like the idea ... even if he already understood why.

"Duh, because not every single civilian can be saved. Which is why we all should split up and save as many people as possible."

Y/n didn't know what she was saying. But than a single, disgusting thought came to her.

She was just trying to make Fushiguro feel better.

Why the fuck would she care about that?

She smiled nonetheless as Kugisaki nodded in agreement.

"Good idea. Fushiguro you should handle the front entrance. Your shikigami wil come in handy. I will go to where the second and third years are. They looked to be having trouble, and y/n can head towards Nanami in the back of the building. I'm sure there are the sick and elderly back there."

Y/n was impressed by Kugisaki's quick thinking, but was greatful for it nonetheless. And once Kugisaki headed out the door, y/n was about to leave too, but she felt someone grab her hand.

Her head turning as her eyes stared up. Fushiguro was looking off to the side. His hand holding onto her own.

"Be carefule."

"What? Not going to say I'm weak?"

"...you have power, you just haven't used it properly, so you're not weak. You may think you are, and others may say the same, but you aren't. Which is why I'm saying be careful ... I know you can handle yourself."

He let his thumb run over the palm of her hand. His eyes closing before he let her go.

"See you later."

And he was out the door a second later, leaving her to her thoughts. Her eyes staring after him.

Her cheeks hurt ...

She raised her hand to take notice of how the smile was still there. Was it possible to smile so much that your face hurt? Keeping an expression you weren't used to making?

She looked down at the hand he held. Her fingers closing to form a fist.

His soul felt nice.

.
.
.

How weird.
