JD and Anna argued like the old-married couple they were the entire time we circled around the small parking lot to look for a spot. Anna was accusing JD of purposefully being late so we would miss the show. She even threatened to make him walk back to the house after the concert if she missed one note of one song.

JD kept interjecting my name into the argument to get me to go on the attack back for him.

He should have thought about that before he shoved me in the backseat like a wad of playdoh through a fun factory.

He deserved everything she sent his way tonight for being classic JD. For once, I was on Anna's side.

Hell had frozen over.

The muscles on my stomach tightened and a shiver ran down my spine as I saw Riley's eyes on me again. My eyes went to hers and she turned her head to look out the window. We had been trapped in this little silent cycle the whole car ride.

I jumped out of the car as soon as JD threw it in park and stretched my cramped body out. Riley got out just as quickly and hesitated a bit to start walking towards Bannon's like she was nervous. She looked in my direction like she wanted me to come over to her.

I walked around the back of the car and stepped up close behind her. She turned and looked up at me with her amazing bright green eyes that reflected the sliver of remaining light in the sky. I inched another step closer to her and stared down. I started to reach up to her to flip the little curl hanging down on the side of her face and wrap it around my finger.

"Come on, let's go," Anna called as she dragged JD by the hand towards the sidewalk.

Riley smiled up at me and turned around to follow Anna and JD.

When we got on the sidewalk, I saw the line to get in was already wrapped around the building. It was a good idea to send Aiden and Mark ahead of us or we would be waiting forever to go inside.

Anna was swinging JD's hand in hers as she bounced past all the poor people at the back, waiting impatiently for it to move.

Head after head turned to stare at Riley as she passed by. All eyes were on the way her short skirt bounced against her ass as she walked. I stepped up my pace to keep close behind her to block the view. I thought about grabbing her hand to mark her as mine to anyone who even thought about going near her tonight.

"Love the outfit, blue." Some asshole cat-called to her.

I had turned around and spotted some short, wide guy with a buzz cut having the time of his life with his buddies as they ogled my girl. He stuck his fingers up in a 'V' shape and flicked his tongue between them right as Riley started to turn to see where the noise came from.

I started back towards the guy, ready to swing on him until I heard Riley giggle. When I looked down at her, she covered her mouth to hide the fact she was laughing at me.

"So fucking stupid," I mumbled under my breath. She literally had no idea she was a piece of meat dangling on a hook in front of a bunch of a ravenous pack of wolves.

Most of these guys had probably never even touched a real girl before.

JD and Anna were already up next to Mark and Aiden in line by the time Riley and I got there. Aiden's eyes were all over Riley's body as she walked up to stand next to him. I made a noise and caught his attention to let him know that I saw what he did. He looked down at his feet in shame.

Aiden had always been slightly scared of me and it was playing out in my favor.

"Damn girls, you two look hot." Mark was practically on his knees, licking their feet.

"What about me?" JD asked, modeling for Mark.

"As gorgeous as ever, boss."

Riley stood next to Aiden in line and started trying to talk to him. His eyes flickered down to her breasts again and I stepped up behind her to surround her. He wasn't going to sneak his way between the two of us.

She was my responsibility tonight. Not his.

The line began moving forward once the doors opened. The rest of the group stepped up first to get their tickets taken and get frisked before going in. I hated this part, but if the pile of confiscated items next to the door was any indication of the deviants inside, I was glad it was a requirement.

It also made me that much more worried for the small girl standing in front of me.

Riley stepped up to the doorman and started to hand him her ticket. He started checking her out and caught the attention of the bouncer who was performing a body search on Mark. The bouncer turned his head and they passed some silent communication between them.

I snatched the ticket from her hand and stepped up between them before either one of them could get any ideas. He glared at me as he took tore them and waved us through.

I went and stood in front of the bouncer and lifted my arms up so he could check me for any contraband. He took less than two seconds to search me over before motioning for me to step to the side.

He flicked his finger and motioned for Riley to step forward. He was smiling at her wickedly and I could see his deranged thoughts in the little bubble over his head like he was an evil villain in a comic book.

She stepped in front of him and smiled politely. He started moving his hands over her sides and the front of her body. The slimy guy was taking his time, running his hands up and down her.

What the hell was this guy doing? There were laws in place about girls getting patted down like this. His hands drifted down to her skirt like he was about to lift it up.

"I think you're done." I grabbed Riley's elbow and pulled her away from him, just as his hands began pulling the fabric up. I pushed her to the side and turned to knock the guy on his ass. Riley was clawing at me from behind, trying to pull me back towards the bar as the bouncer gave me a vicious smile.

He shrugged as he raised his eyebrows and waved us off.

He knew what he was fucking doing. I was going to corner Sean or Levi later to find out what that guy's deal was. He wasn't going to have a job by the end of the night or I would threaten to call the cops to have this whole place shut down.

"Fucking pervert." I spat out at him as I let Riley pull me into the entryway hall.

"You could be a little nicer." She said as she broke contact with me and gave me a little shove.

"He was feeling you up. What was I supposed to do? Thank him for his services? Tell him to keep up the good work?" I growled down at her.

"No, I'm not saying that. I just didn't want you to get thrown out for fighting the bouncer." She said, rubbing my arm. "Can we please just go in now?"

She was impossible. She was so naïve and it frustrated the hell out of me.

I turned away from her and began to stomp inside to go find the group when I felt a light tap on my back. I lowered my head, knowing it was her, without even having to look back.

"Thank you." She whispered. Her breath sent goosebumps across my skin and down to the spot where she was still touching me.

I gave her a slight nod and continued inside to catch up with the rest of the group.

Riley positioned herself in front of me and started to get up on her tiptoes to look for Anna and the guys. I laughed as she leaned from one side to the other, trying to see over the crowd. I tapped the skin on her shoulder and pointed towards the bar. The group was congregated close to it, searching for us too.

Riley saw them for a second and began trying to maneuver her way through the thick crowds of people hanging out on the raised level of the bar. She tried to squeeze through and say, "excuse me," but the crowd just seemed to close in tighter every time she found a small opening.

"Follow me." I leaned into her ear and placed my hand along the small of her back. I slid it along the bare skin below her top as I moved around her to step in front of her.

I grabbed her wrists and wrapped them around me and pulled her tight against my body. It was going to be difficult to keep eyes on her and make a path to move. If she was attached to me, it would be a lot harder for her to get lost in the crowd.

I started pushing through the resistance of the crowd, receiving everything from annoyed looks, threats, to the occasional person who apologized and stepped out of the way enough to let us through. As I moved, Riley's hands were locked tight to me and started inching up under my shirt against my stomach.

I chanced a quick peek down to watch her lightly brushing the lines on my hips nears my waistband. I sucked in a sharp breath as she shifted her thumb lower where my music notes were.

Riley started to pull her hands away like she was doing something wrong. There was no way I was going to let her stop touching me. I held her hands in place and pushed them harder against me.

My skin was burning from the fire between us.

I wondered if it was just me imagining it or if she felt it too.
