Jason's POV:

By morning we had a plan, weapons, and soldiers, alls we needed was the location. We all met up with eachother outside of the hut and gathered our supplies. Mina wouldn't talk to me until I brought back Naomi, and Tiffany sided with Mina. Ricky, Matt, Kole and I stood at the front of the group and stopped just outside of the woods to re-go over what the plan was. "Okay everyone, gather round." I called out as loud as we could since we left at day break, and everyone else was sleeping. Everyone croutched around us, and all eyes landed on me.

"Okay. The plan is that we all stick together in the beggining.... We will try our hardest to find Naomi, and do not come back until we do. Once we find the place, we will split up into groups and surround the place, taking out whoever or whatever we need to in order to get her back. Any problems with that?" I asked, and Derek's cousin cut in.

"We find Derek too!" She glared, and I nodded.

"I promise that if he's still alive, we will bring him back without a second thought." I said and she nodded, hurt by the realisation that he may be dead already. "Don't let your feelings distract you from the mission at hand."

She nodded her head sadly and began to stand up with the others. The last two guards we were waiting for showed up with some meat that we were going to take along, and we packed it before turning around to head into the forest. "Man, it's going to be so hard to find the place with nothing to go on." Huffed Kole, but I smirked at their blindness and Naomi's cleverness.

"I wouldn't say nothing." I smirked, and they all looked at me in confusion. I pointed to the seaweed, and they still looked up at me confused. "Naomi had seaweed tied around her waist from when you guys put the roof to the infirmary, and when she made your ankle helper." I pointed at Peters ankle, and he gasped in realization.

"So let's go get her." He said, and began to walk again. But this time, he was up front with me. I made sure we all walked in two's so that no one was alone, and that we all weren't in a mob like shape. This way we could see all directions besides behind us, but this way we all had a partner if for some reason anyone got hurt. Ricky and Kole stood behind us, then Matt and Crystal (Mandy's sister), Jack (other schoolmate) and Vicki (Derek's cousin), and lastly, Randy (guard) and Claire (Koles sister).

We all walked together and followed the trail that Naomi left, hoping that we weren't too late or that maybe even Derek was still alive. The forest seemed empty almost, and it was as if all animals had went away for a bit. "No gun's until we are there, spears only for whatever we encounter." I whispered, and they all nodded before heading on. No one really spoke during the hours of walking, we all kept our eyes peeled and were most likely all full of different emotions for the current task. I wasn't sure if I trusted the people I was with, but I knew for sure that I definitely didn't trust the forest people since they don't keep their word.

Naomis POV:

I awoke due to movement of my cage, and my eyes shot open. I looked a round and saw that the goones from earlier were now untying their ropes to place my cage on the ground. I sat up, and looked further to try and see why I was being moved. "Mandy?" I called out, but froze when I heard an evil laugh and turned. I saw Mandy was tied up to the pole and had a rope in her mouth so she couldn't speak. Even with the rope, I could understand her pain and fear as the arriving Sage headed for her.

My cage was getting closer to the floor, and I panicked when I saw Sage heading for Mandy. "Sage, what are you doing?!?" I yelled, and she smiled back evily at me. "Don't worry. I'll kill her and become commander, and then I'll have my fun in killing you." Her face showed so much trauma, and it scared me how evil she was. Mandy started to panic and even though we were no longer friends, I couldn't let her die. I began to untie the ropes as I did with my previous cage, and hid the knife in my shirt. Once my cage was close enough to the floor, I pulled the string that held it all together and dropped out of the bottom of the cage, doing a forward roll and heading for Sage.

The guards had been amazed at my escape and tried to chase me, but I sprinted past them and kept my sights on Sage. Mandy and Sage hadn't noticed my escape, but Mandy wouldn't have noticed anyways when she had a crazy girl coming at her with a knife. I ran up the side of the stage as Sage reached Mandy and her goones that didn't know I escaped cheered. Oh no you don't! I thought in my head, as I dove just in time for Sage to turn around and face me. I tackled her down, and her goones ran to us, but she yelled out at them and they all sat back. "This fight to the death is between me and Naymo!" She yelled, and I cut in.

"Umm, sorry to interrupt your whole mosh pit thing you've got going on here but...., my names Naomi." She snarled at me and shook her head.

"You are Naymo, of the outer world. Leader and arch nemesis of the woods!" They all cheered again, and once more I cut in.

"No.... it's still Naomi, names don't change just because you move somewhere." Something more than anger flickered across her eyes, and she charged at me with her knife.

Mandy was shouting through her rope and trying to say something, but I wasn't worried about her at the moment. I had to keep blocking Sages attacks or I would end up with yet another wound. Any time I got close to her people, they would push me towards her, but she glared and they finally stopped. All of a sudden, she stood up and smiled wickedly at me. "I have come up with an agreement I find very suitable." She said, and I kept my stance and focus on her. She seemed unphased by my not standing up and decided to continue. "So I came up with something, and I'm just going to get on with it. We will have three fights, and the last one is too the death. The first will be a fist fight, the second with bamboo sticks, and the last will be the weapons." She said excitedly, and I raised an eyebrow to her. How could she make a game out of something so serious? She slowly raised her knife and threw it to the side as one of her people grabbed mine when I wasn't looking and threw mine too the side as well.

My heart beat faster, and I kept opening and closing my palms in anticipation. Finally she charged at me, and I did my best to charge back. She had the upper hand, and I fell back as she pounded in on me like a wild savage, and I knew I needed to get on top. I wrapped my legs around her back and held onto her hands before smashing my head into hers and flipping us. She groaned as I pounded in her face and all of a sudden, every once of anger I held in since we came had begun to pour out of me.

She tried to grab my face, and eventually her goones ran over and ripped me off of her. Her face was bloody, and she nodded before saying something to her goones. "That round went too fast, now that I know what you're capable of... This should be a lot more fun." She smiled, and snapped her fingers. I looked over at Mandy and saw she was watching us like a deer caught in headlights. I wasn't really sure what would happen if I won against Sage, but I knew I wasn't going to take leadership of the savages.

Aña came out of the crowd and handed me a bamboo stick with a sad face before standing at the front lines amoung the others. Sage had an evil look on her face and a smile of the joker before she began to circle around, and I did the same so that she didn't end up behind me. Sage drew nearer and made the circle we kept going in smaller and smaller so that I had no place to escape. I felt bad for all of the mice and deer and rabbits I had cornered to kill or trap in the past, because I too was now the victim. It seemed as though that Sage was the predator, and I was the prey in this fight.

She yelled out a battle cry and charged at me, but I didn't expect her to stab the bamboo stick down at my ankles. I yelled out in pain and tripped, but caught myself and tried to circle once more. She smirked at my pain and jabbed down again, so I blocked, but I hadn't realised that it was just a distraction for what she was actually aiming at. Once I jabbed down, she swung her bamboo sideways and hit me across the face. I cried out in pain and fell forward a bit before staggering in the best circle I could do. I really need to start swinging! I thought as I now was limping and had a burning sensation on my face.

I swung, and she ducked before stabbing me straight into my stomach with her rod and sending me to the ground. I rolled over just in time to have her stick miss me, and I swung from the floor, hitting her in her knees and making her fall down. We both gasped for air on the floor before trying to stand up and fight on. She smacked my ankle once more and I screamed out in pain before trying with all of my might to stand up. "I would have thought you would have lasted longer." She called before I turned onto my stomach and tried to crawl away enough to get some distance.

Her foot pressed down on my back, and I knew I was trapped. "I've gotta admit, I may want to keep you around a bit longer.... You're pretty fun to fight." She laughed, and her goones laughed with her like an echo that wasn't supposed to occur. When she stepped off of me, they all got quiet and she yelled out things to them. I went to stand up, but she wacked me in the back and I fell with a sore thud. She began to beat me with her bamboo and shouting out words with her people as they cheered on.

I started seeing black dots and wanted nothing more but for her to stop. I cried out in pain and tried to move, but that only gave her a clean hit to my ribs. Suddenly, she stopped. I was thankful, but then confused for why I heard gun shots going off. The people began to run, trampling over me and running from the shots, causing me to entirely blank out from being stampeded. I thought I heard my name being called from out in the distance, and cried in the darkness because the voice made me remember Derek. I remembered his cries for me and failing him. I remembered his saying how strong I was, and how I was going to take them all down.

I knew I had failed him for the fact that I was lying here in defeat against Sage who I had allowed to enter my village in the first place. I dont even know where Aña is, but I know that if I don't win this fight that she will never be free. Six lives taken on my account and I won't let Aña or anyone else be the seventh. I wasn't really sure what else happened, but I was covered in darkness and I couldn't hear anything anymore.

Jason's POV:

We had finally found the village and tried to stay hidden until I sent the sign to attack. Everyone broke up into the pairs of two in order to have the place surrounded, and I was waiting to get a better angle. I saw a stage with a girl tied to it. I realized that she wasn't Naomi, but I knew we needed to help her as well. I saw a mob cheering in front of the stage, they cheered as though a school fight had just occurred and teachers hadn't broken it up yet. I inched forward when all of a sudden, gunshots went off and we sprinted in, just in case for some reason another group had already came in and needed some assistance.

We sprinted in, and the crowd of foresters ran for the exits, but kept switching directions when they saw us coming in from different directions. Eventually, they all ran into a big hut and I had a smirk of our victory on my face, until my eyes landed on the one thing my heart couldn't stand to see again. "Naomi!" I yelled, and sprinted over to a body facing the floor. There was a young girl who I believed was a forester next to her, and I glared. "Get away form her!" The girl looked up with so much fear and shot back in insane fear when she saw my face. Tears ran down her face, and then I realised that we had met before.

She was a part of the first group that I had been with when I first joined my fathers business. He had grabbed a group of eighth graders and did a test run for this years project, little did I know that I was a part of that. "Aña right?" I asked, and she nodded her head in tears, watching my every move. "I won't hurt you I swear, I'm not the same guy you knew.. I- I won't hurt you I swear, just tell me what happened to her please." I said, and she stopped crying. I guess I must look at Naomi a certain way because she nodded, feeling less scared of me becssue of Naomi. I feel like Naomi makes everyone calm, and a lot of people are looking up to her in this time of need. Then I realised how much of a toll it must take on her, and how she looked to me as her saver, but I could never manage to be there when she needed me.

"Sage and her fought, I guess she knew-"

"Amanda?" I heard Crystal yell, and turned to see her run up on the stage and take the rope out of the girls mouth. Amanda?? I thought and realised that it was Naomi's best friend. Aña had started talking to me again, and I refocused on her.

"She fought to save her, but then Sage made a new thing out of it. She said they would have three fights, the first would be fists, the second bamboo, and the last weapons."

"That's right, and she still owes me that last one." My head shot up, and hatred spread across my face when I saw Sage. All guns loaded on her, and she smirked while putting up her hands up.

"I won't let you get to her." I glared, and everyone else came together with the girl from the stage who couldn't keep her eyes off of her.

"As their commander, I suggest you head back inside or we will blow your head off. You will leave Naomi, Aña, and Amanda alone. If you fail to these agreements, then we will kill you." I said, and she smiled wickedly at both Aña and Amanda, nodding her head at her before turning and heading back in. I looked back at the girl, and she looked down, relocking her eyes on Naomi. I carried and laid her on the food platform we had made for animals when we caught food, and she shared it with a jaguar that I had no clue how or why we got.

The foresters and Sage came out onto the platform, and began to cheer out "Naymo, Naymo, Naymo!" We aimed our guns, but it seemed that they weren't coming closer.

"Let's go!" I called, and we all headed out but then I heard yelling.

"Where is Derek!" I spun around to see Vicki had ran over to them, and was yelling at them.

"Vicki! Come back here! Think about what you're doing!" I yelled, and before I knew it, a spear was thrown at her. I shot my gun at those in the front when seeing the spear go straight through her. "Go, go, go, go, go!" I yelled as we headed out, and back home. Matt and Randy kept their guns facing the back while Ricky helped pull and watched the right. Crystal had the left, and Claire helped pull, but I couldn't take my eyes off of Naomi. Amanda and Aña just followed next to me, neither of them would take their eyes off of Naomi either. She looked so fragile and weak while she laid there. I knew my feeling wasn't wrong when I felt that something was wrong with her. I couldn't tell what was wrong with her like usual, but the same cheek my father had split open was now swollen red at her cheekbone. Her lip seemed slightly cut, and she had a gash above her eyebrow.

Something seemed off about Amanda, but I had no time to worry about her because all I could think about was Naomi. It became darker, and I held a torch as we all grew closer to the shore. We saw many torches lit, and knew it was the group as we finally emerged from the darkness. "They're back!" I heard someone yell, and everyone gathered around to see who all we came back with. Many sad faces were shown, and I knew it was friends of Derek's. I heard someone whisper, asking where Vicki was, and I was saddened because I knew the answer.

Mina shot through everyone and practically threw Amanda, Aña, and I out of the way before sprinting to Naomi's side. "I said to bring her back okay!" She looked back at me with tears sliding down her face, and I looked down as everyone else had people come to them. Liz sprang herself on Matt, Tiffany to Peter, Ricky and Randy had many girls swoom to them, Crystal hugged Amanda tightly, Claire dragged Kole away and hugged him tightly while once again Aña, and I were left alone. Kole came back and hugged Mina so I could get Naomi, and put her in the infirmary.

I lit the torches in the home, and everyone else gathered at the entrance. "We keep the door locked at night from now on. No one goes out without waking up someone else to let them go, and everyone stays with a partner." I said, and everyone nodded before heading into the hut. I looked around and made sure everyone was in before closing the door and locking it. I walked over to the bed made for Naomi and sat next to her, only leaving on the torch for the infirmary.

I had brought in water and cleaned her face and put some ointment on her lip before sitting next to her and holding her hand. "Naomi? If you can hear me, I ask you to wake up. I need you to wake up." I whispered, my voice threatening to crack at any moment during this endless time of waiting for her to wake up. I felt like of all the times I saw her hurt, though this one killed me the most. I let them take her, I let them have her for more than a day. It was my fault she was hurt. I told her that I would save her, and yet I was too late.

I couldn't protect her, and it killed me to know it. I kissed her hand and put my head to my knees before shooting up at a voice. "You must really love her." I saw Aña, and looked down.

"I can't even start with how sorry I am that we did this too you. I-"

"Don't, it's done and over with and any friend of hers is a friend of mine. What Derek said about her gave me hope and with her, I know I will get the chance to see my family again." She said, and wiped a stray tear that slid down her face. "Be good to her and keep her safe. We will need her, and I believe that she is the key to getting us home." She said before heading back over to everyone else and going to sleep.

I knew I should probably head to sleep myself, but I keep thinking that if I go to sleep, she will wake up alone and or being the only one awake. I tried to stay awake as long as I could, but I found my eyes getting heavier and heavier and I knew that my eyes wouldn't last much longer. I sat against the wall next to her and kept my eyes on her until I was awake no longer, hoping that she would awaken soon and see that she is safely home.
