When I woke up, an idea struck me and I ran out of the home, careful not to step or wake anyone up. I patted down sand and grabbed a stick as I looked at our meat holder, and thought about what I had been picturing in my head. I started to draw them into the sand that I had pat down, outlining the area I was using to draw with stones so no one would step on it. I was almost done drawling when I heard movement in the home and froze. Jason appeared in the doorway with sleepy eyes. He kind of looks cute when he's sleepy looking I thought to myself, but quickly shook that comment out of my mind and raised an eyebrow as to why he was starring at me.

Eventually (a couple seconds later) I went back to drawling before I forgot about what I had imagined in my head. A couple minutes later, he came down and looked down at what I was drawling. "What on Earth are you doing Naomi?" He yawned, and I laughed at how tired he was. I was feeling a bit tired myself.

"We need a meat storage house, no more wrapping it in our panchos." I said, and continued to drawl. I was almost finished when he snapped his fingers in front of my face. I jumped and looked up at him annoyed. "Did you hear a thing I just said?" He asked, and I looked at him like he was ridiculous. "Duh, you asked me what I was doing." I said, and this time he raised his eyebrows.

"Naomi, I said that ten minutes ago. I was talking to you and kept calling you by name so when you didn't answer, I snapped in your face." I was shocked when he said that, and I had been getting a bit more tired. "Do you even know what time it is?" Hs asked, and I rolled my eyes.

"Of course not, I don't have a watch." I said, and he pointed to the sky to proove a point. The sun had only just begun to rise, why in the world was I up so early? "I think your partially sleep walking, or sleep working." He laughed lightly and I nodded my head, maybe he was right. "Go back to sleep, I'll be in ina few. I just need to finish this drawling." I said, and he nodded and headed back inside. I had been getting even more tired the second I finished the drawling.

I'll just get some wood for them to use before I go to sleep so they don't have to worry about getting it, and I'll mark in the ground how big it should be. I thought before grabbing wood and marking the spot.

Jason's POV:

I had first came out when I felt the empty space near me and woke up to see who was missing. When I saw Naomi was missing, I panicked and thought that someone had taken her. Possibly the person who put the rose on her back I presumed. I came back in about twenty minutes ago, she should be back in her by now. I decided to make her come inside whether she wanted to or not, because we have a hunt tomorrow. When I got outside of the tent, I didn't see her where her drawling was. My heart began to beat faster. "Naomi?" I said, and got no response. I got out and started looking for her when I noticed her figure lying on the ground, and ran over.

I thought she had been attacked again, but then I saw her hands and smirked. She had dug in four holes for whoever she wanted to build this meat shack to know how long and wide to build it. The only problem, was that she had dug four holes and only three holes had a stick in them. Her hair covered her face, but her hands were covered in sand and half grasping sand to have dug out. So I laughed and as much as I would regret it, I turned on my phone that my father left me and took a picture of her sleeping in the sand. She looked too cute to have fallen asleep digging, like a student who stood up too late the night before a test. I then turned off my phone, rehid it, and nudged her with my boot.

She groaned, and curled up in a ball. She sleeps so cute. I thought, but shook away the feeling about her and got my act together by nudging her again. "Mom, five more minutes." She groaned again and turned the other direction.

"You're lucky you're you." I grumbled before picking her up and carrying her back to the hut. She moved a lot in my arms, but once her head was snugged into my neck and her hands my chest, she was still and out like a light. Once back inside, I laid her down on her spot and went back to mine to get some more sleep before we had to get up and hunt.

When I woke back up, Naomi was missing again, and I groaned. It was still pretty dark out, and the little girl Mina was missing too. I headed to the door, but froze at the shadow in the door. I snuck up behind it and tackled whoever it was, putting my hand over the figures mouth to keep it from making too much noise. But when I realised who it was, my face was confused and I let go of the scared little figure. "Sorry little man, I thought you were the person who attacked Naomi. What were you just standing there looking at?" I asked, and he shrugged me off before standing up and putting his hands in his pockets.

"I'm not little, and my names kole." He said, while I nodded and followed his gaze.

Down by the shore, Naomi and Mina were dipping their toes in the water and leaning on each other. "Oh, so who has caught the heart of "big boy" kole?" I asked, and started laughing until he answered.

"Both of them." He said, and walked back into the hut. My laughter turned into envy, and I don't know why. The thought of him and Naomi angered me, but I didn't want to admit it. Once he went back in and I saw him lay down, I made my way down to the shore. I couldn't help but smirk at their laughter, and stopped moving so they didn't know I was there. It was a bit creepy and crush crazy for me to be spying, but they seemed so adorable. I had never paid much attention to Naomi's laugh, but it was cute and an adorable giggle.

Naomi's POV:

Mina had shaken me until I woke up, and asked me to teach her how to swim. It was easier that no one else was awake because she wouldn't get distracted. When we finished, we took a seat on the shore, letting the waves wash over our toes. "Jimmy would be proud of you." She said, and I froze,

"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to keep my emotions in control. It was good that she could talk about him without crying, but it was still hard for me to hear.

"He looked up to you ya know, he always wanted me to learn how to swim. He thought you were the coolest when you dove in to save Ricky from that shark. And when you helped bring me back from almost drowning, or teaching me how to swim now... If he is watching us now, I'm sure he's smiling." She smiled, and leaned her head on my shoulder as I leaned my head against her.

"Happy birthday by the way."

"Thank you." She responded quietly. I didn't know what to say, but I needed to enlighten the mood. "Down by the bay."

"Shore." She cut my singing off to correct me, and I laughed. The song was originally meant for a bay, but since we were looking at an ocean, I guess I could change it to fit our situation. "Down by the shore.. Where nobody else goes... Is now my home... But I'm not alone... And what I do... Is hunt all day..." I jumped when another voice cut in.

"Do you see over there... A deer and a bear, down... By.... The.... Shore!...." I started laughing, but frowned when I saw Jason wink at Mina.

"You totally just high jacked my song!" I playfully glared, and he shrugged

"I only want a fifty percent coproducing agreement." He said, and Mina laughed before shaking her head.

"You can have ten percent, but a majority is going to Naomi."

"Ha! Two against one!" I cheered, and grabbed her hand as we stood in the water, closed our eyes, and let ourselves flop back into the water. It was something we started doing when we first got down to the shore today. She couldn't swim yet, but I was getting her more comfortable with the water. Some people had started coming out of the home and we decided to head up to meet them. While everyone exchanged their good mornings, I noticed Sage coming out of the woods and heading into the hut. "Mina stay with Jason, I just have to check something." I said before heading for the home. I walked in and saw Sage leaning over my bag. "What are you doing?" I said, and she quickly looked over at me.

"Well, I was just going to leave this for you in your bag, but you caught me." She smiled and slowly came up to me. She then took her hands out from behind her back and showed me a metal cross necklace. "Wow thank you, but where find you get this?" I exclaimed, and she seemed to be thinking.

"I went for a walk in the woods to get thoughts of dying alone on this island out of my head and saw this metal rod that looked bendable and made this for you, you do like it don't you?" She seemed hurt by my not taking it and asking questions, and I felt so bad. "I'm sorry, where are my manners. It's beautiful, and thank you so much!" I exclaimed before taking it and putting it on.

"You look beautiful! Oh, and I've been practing with my knife so that I can hopefully join you guys on your hunts!" She said excitedly, and I smirked but felt a little nervous when she got out her knife. "Look, I can do tricks!" She exclaimed, and I got nervous as she started swinging it around and she froze when someone stepped in from the doorway. Her knife stood still at least a cenemeter from my stomach. "Hey kole, I was just showing Naomi the tricks I've been practicing to join the hunting group, aren't they cool!" She exclaimed and then she threw her hands up, the blade slightly cut my arm.

"Ahh!" I exclaimed, and Sage jumped back.

"Naomi!" Yelled Kole, and he ran over to me,

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! I had to or they'd kill me!" Exclaimed Sage before running out of the home, and I looked at Kole confused.

"What does she mean? All she did was scratch me." I laughed, and he glared at the direction she was just at before turning my arm to see how badly I was hurt.

Mina, Jason, Ricky, Peter, Tiffany, Matt, and Liz all ran in the home and over to me. So the cut was more of a gash, and I was bleeding, but accidents happen. She did scare me though when saying that someone made her do it, what if it wasn't an accident??

"What happened?" Glared Jason and looked over to Kole angrily, but I pulled Kole behind me and glared at Jason.

"Leave him alone, it was an accident and it wasn't even him!"

"An accident." Cut in Kole sarcastically.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Glared Jason, I had never seen him so mad about a cut before.

"I came in and saw Sage with her knife very close to Naomi's stomach."

"Is this true?"

"She was showing me the tricks she had been practicing to join the hunting group." I knew what it felt like to be turned on in an instant, and it may not even be how we see it, maybe it was really an accident.

"So how did she get cut on the arm?" He seemed even more pissed, and Kole wouldn't keep his mouth shut.

"She acted excited about her tricks and flung her knife up, cutting Naomi in the process."

"It was an accident!" I said loud and slow so that they would get my point. I knew how it felt for people to see something one way and have a hate for something that may not even be true.

Jason tried to get a look at it, but I moved and grabbed a cloth. "It's just a scratch!" I exclaimed, putting on ointment and tying the cloth tightly over the scratch. He seemed a bit mad that I didn't let him see it, but I smiled at everyone to assure that I was fine. "Let's go hunters, we have a long day ahead of us! Peter and Tiffany please get people working on that meat shack, and you should help with that too since its for the food. Mina, help and watch over the others. Kole, you watch over Mina." I smirked, and he looked around before looking at me.

"Who's going to be watching you?" Countered Kole. Jason was going to say something, but Ricky spoke up. "Me, my leg is better so Liz can stay here and I am ready to hunt." He exclaimed before putting his arm on my shoulder, and I laughed as Kole eyed him.

"Everyone head out." I called, and we all left the home. My hunting group was now Jason, me, Ricky, Matt, the guy who was scared to shoot the first time (Chad), and Derek (Jr. In my school), and Jose who had been in my group the first time. Charles and Beth were switched to building when the three kids died. My group wasn't that big, but I was fine with that. At least we had two guns on us, and my weapons should hold off animals. My bow and arrow was finished, so that was what I would be using today. Ricky was given a two sided spear, and a regular one as well as his knife. The others had about the same, and maybe some different. Jason had his gun and knife as well as Matt. I also had my knife, so that will come in handy for easy kills that I won't need my arrows for.

We had gotten to the spot where we last saw that deer, and kept alert for other big animals. My arm still hurt from the cut, but I didn't want to complain and decided to stay focused on the hunt. We had caught more rabbits and squirrels, but we needed bigger meat in case we had to stay at base for a couple of days. "Where are all of the big animals?" I complained, and the others nodded their heads in agreement. Finally, we saw a family of deer and I felt bad but we needed the meat. "No shooting, this is all spear work." I whispered, and everyone nodded as we started to circle around the animals. The poor things didn't even know that they were being hunted, they had no clue we were even there. Once in position, I looked at everyone and counted to three. At the same time, I shot two arrows and got a deer in the head, Derek got one in the head as well. Ricky threw his spear and got one in the thigh, and Chad got one in the heart.

We all cheered, two got away but the deer we caught should hold us for a couple days. Matt had made a wooden platform this morning, and so we mounted the deer on it to take back. "Okay everyone, round up!" I called, and we waited for everyone to meet up with us. After about five minutes, I got a bit worried that Jose didn't show up. "Jose!" I yelled, and when we got no response I felt a bit nervous. "Ricky and Matt, you guys take the deer to base. Jason, Chad, and I will go search for Jose."

"I'm not leaving you here alone!" Fought Ricky, but Chad cut in.

"She'll be with Jason and I, she'll be fine!" Said Chad, eager to hurry up and find Jose.

"I'll be fine Ricky, well be back in a few. Just get the food to base, and we'll be back in no time." I said, and he shook his head.

"Its getting dark and if anything happened to you, I couldn't live with myself. I owe you." He said, and Jason cut in.

"I have my gun, she'll be fine. Matt has his gun, so you will be too.

"Why can't she go with Matt?" He complained, and I cut in because I saw some of the guys thinking that that was a good idea since I was the only girl hunter.

"I chose Jose to be on this hunting team, and so he is my responsibility. I'm staying, and you're going. We will be back by sundown, so just stop worrying and I will be back in no time." I said and he nodded, finally backing down.

"But if you don't come back, I will hunt you down and kill you myself." He joked and I laughed, but Jason didn't take it to lightly.

When they headed home, we headed the opposite direction and started our search for Jose. "Jose!" We called out, but never got an answer. "Everybody split up about five paces but that's it, we don't need to loose anyone else." They nodded and we began to walk.

"I hope we find him soon, he's my best friend." Mumbled Chad, and I felt so bad for him. I could relate since I still couldn't find Mandy, and I guess Jason realised what I was feeling and spoke up.

"They're fine." He said and I nodded, and so did Chad. My stomach began to turn, and I felt a bit nauseous.

"You okay Naomi?" Asked Chad, and I nodded, but tripped and fell over something.

"Ah!" I grumbled, and the boys ran over to see if I was okay. I looked to see what I had tripped on and threw up. Jason saw first, and tried to pull Chad back but he saw it first.

"Jose!" He called, and flung himself to Jose. Jason had called out to him plenty of times, but Chad never answered and so Jason came over to me and got down on his knees.

"You okay Naomi?" He asked, and I shook my head no. He helped me stand, and I refused to look back over at Jose. The image of him and a spear through his heart would be forever etched into my brain and I couldn't unsee it. "Naomi how are you feeling?" Worriedly asked Jason, and I lost balance a bit.

"I'm a bit nauseous, must be hungry. But seeing Jose.." I threw up again, and Jason held my hair back.

"This is all her fault." Mumbled Chad, and Jason looked over.

"What did you say?" I had sat back against a tree to try and feel a bit better but after Chad had mumbled, he shot up and threw Jason to the floor and ran for me.

"Naomi run!" Yelled Jason, so I did and I began to sprint away from Chad who had his knife out and was ready to kill me. I looked back, which I regretted because within the next couple of seconds, he had tackled me. He had covered my mouth so that I couldn't scream, and dropped his knife.

"Like you said, it's your fault he was here and it's your fault he's dead!" He yelled as he punched me across the face, now letting me cry in pain.

"Naomi!" Yelled Jason as he tried to run after us and find me. Chad kept punching me in the face, and then grabbed his knife. Jason was about ten feet to my left and I tried to yell, but nothing came out. Chad lifted my shirt a tiny bit and went to the side of my stomach. He made small slashes, and then Jason spotted us. "Hey!" He began to run over, so Chad raised his knife to stab me in the heart but all of a sudden I was sprayed with red. When I reopened my eyes, Chad was laying on the ground next to me with a spear through his head, and Jason was leaning against the tree next to me scared and trying to see where the arrow came from. That's when I realised that the arrows weren't made by us, and I got scared as Jason pulled me by my arm to him. "Try to stand." I nodded and stood, though I wobbled a bit and froze when a spear flew by, only just missing me. "Naomi." He sounded angry, worried, and scared for me, and I felt bad but I couldn't control my body. I felt sick, and I had just gotten carved into and beaten.

I wasn't facing him at first and still was a bit wobbly, and so he had to help me. I felt his hands on my arms as he pulled me back against him. The feeling of being with him felt good, but I felt sick and I wasn't stable. "Crap!" He yelled as he wrapped on arm over my shoulder, and the other my waist to have full control over me. "They made her do it... They made her do it!" He kept saying and he peaked around while I tried to compose myself. He unwrapped my arm and cursed before spinning me to face him. "They put something on that blade to make you sick long enough to grab you, you're a target!" He freaked, before holding me against him. I couldn't hear what he was saying, but the only thing that came out my mouth was.

"Are you praying?" He just laughed and shook his head at me, I saw a tear on his face but he wiped it off.

"I sware if we live through this.." He stopped when he heard a twig snap, and held me tight against him.

Jason's POV:

I held Naomi tight against me, which would give off a totally different emotion if we weren't in a life or death situation. It felt good to have her in my arms, but in this situation, I knew she'd die if she wasn't. "In a second, I'm
