Liam's words hit me like a ton of bricks and make me react instinctively. I grab my backpack that's hanging on the hook in my closet and stuff it with a pair of jeans, two sweaters, some underwear and two t-shirts. I quickly change out of my miniskirt and into a matching sweat-suit and a pair of Nike sneakers.

Two can play Liam's game, and if he's going to challenge me, then I'm going to fight back. Only...harder.

I also grab my journal, book, and laptop just in case I don't make it back to the house in the next couple of days. If Liam thinks that I'm leaving with him at the end of the week, then he's delusional. I wonder what Jacob has to say about that. Or if he even knows.

I don't bother to tiptoe around the house, and make the sound of my shoes hitting each stair known. As I approach the end of the staircase, I see Liam and Jacob watching television in the living room. The patter of my sneaker hitting the marble floor is loud enough to get Liam to turn around, and when he sees me head for the exit, he rises so fast from the couch that I'm pretty sure he's going to beat me to the door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Liam shouts as he makes his way towards me. Luckily, I'm able to turn the knob on the door before he can reach me. "Sophia, get back here," he continues to yell, chasing after me as I run towards the waiting Chevrolet in the driveway. "Sophia!"

Once I'm in, Liam attempts to run after the car, but the Uber driver is quicker, and before I know it, I'm in the clear. I have the destination set for Cassie's house. I already told her I'm on my way.

I lean my head against the window, looking out at the night's sky.

It's funny, I'm not one to shy away from an obstacle. And now that I have, I'm disappointed in myself. I should've fought for Noah. I should've fought for my happiness.

I dwell on this thought for a little while longer until I come to the realization that maybe there's still time. Maybe I can still fight for what I want.

"Excuse me, sir," I clear my throat and say to the driver.

"Yes?" he asks as he lowers the radio and looks out the rearview mirror.

"If it's not too late, I'd like to change my destination."
