Because when you're angry

You look sexy

When Mira agreed to skip fourth period with Reggie, Archie and Veronica, she didn't expect they would be skipping at Veronica's house. So, when Archie drove his car into the long, circle driveway, Mira's heart almost stopped beating. If he was home there was a big change Veronica would confront him about the PINK panties, which meant there was an even bigger chance the truth would come out.

"Are you okay?" Reggie asked, noticing the concerned look on her face. Archie and Veronica turned to face her from the front of the car.

"Yeah, I just don't skip often," she played off.

"You're so cute," Reggie said, placing a hand over hers. "Don't worry, you won't get caught."

Veronica and Archie looked at each other with a small smile, probably finding Reggie and her to be a cute couple.

"Thanks," Mira said, even though his words had zero impact on her nervousness. She really needed to message Sabrina about that forgetting potion.

They all stepped out of the car and made their way into the house. The boys got into some conversation about football by the door, so Mira and Veronica walked further into the house without them. Mira prayed and prayed she wouldn't bump into Hiram, but sadly her prayers were not answered because as they were making their way past the dining room, they found him sitting at the end of the table with a cup of coffee before him.

When his eyes landed on Mira, he seemed almost glad to see her. His eyes lit up and he opened his mouth to speak, until he realized his daughter was standing right next to her.

"Veronica, home so soon?" He said, sipping on his coffee.

"Why? Hiding someone in the house, daddy?" Veronica responded, earning a curious look from her dad.

"What?" He said. Mira's heart was pounding so hard and fast she could have sworn she was about to go into cardiac arrest.

"What did you do last night?" Veronica said, raising an eyebrow. Hiram's eyes strayed from his daughter's to pierce into Mira's for a moment. She just hoped he didn't admit to anything before he knew the limited information Veronica knew.

"What is it that you think I did last night?" He said.

"I know what you did."

Was it getting harder to breathe? Because Mira sure was having difficulty filling her lungs with air.

"You slept with someone and hid her from me," Veronica said, reaching into her purse and pulling out the ziplocked panties. Mira closed her eyes in embarrassment and just hoped the day would end already.

"We'll discuss this later," Hiram sighed.

"Yes we will."

To make the situation worse, both Archie and Reggie walked into the dining room. Reggie made sure to stand extra close to Mira, close enough so that their arms were pressed up against the other. Mira watched as Hiram's eyes hardened at the sight of them together.

Okay, maybe there was still a reason for her to be saying no to other guys, because the look on his face had anger written all over it. She had to admit, he did look kind of sexy looking like that at her.

"Hey, Mr. Lodge," Archie said.

Hiram stood from his seat and straightened his back, looking menacingly at the group before him. "You actually have the nerve to bring boys here?" He said in a voice so terrifying, Mira could have sworn she heard Archie wet himself.

"Daddy, we're just going to watch a movie. You can join us if you want," Veronica said.

"I think I will," he said, rolling up his sleeves as if getting ready to take on some labour intensive challenge.

The movie was to be watched in the basement of the house where the Lodge's had built a theatre room. Of course they had a theatre room, but instead of theatre seats they had couches set up to form a U shape. Archie and Veronica took the middle couch the directly faced the screen. Mira sat down on the couch on the right of the room. She made sure to sit against one end of the couch, giving Reggie enough space to sit anywhere, but of course he decided to sit right next to her. Hiram didn't look too happy taking a seat alone on the couch on the left side, especially not when his view was Mira and Reggie.

Reggie leaned in close to Mira's ear and she could hear the sound of Hiram's blood boiling from the other end of the room. "He scares the shit out of me," Reggie whispered. "I feel like he wants to kill me."

"I think he wants to you kill you, too," Mira replied, earning a laugh from Reggie but he didn't know how serious she was.

"Alright, any movie suggestions?" Veronica asked, scrolling through Netflix.

"Miss America," Archie said. "Tay swift is my idol."

"You're so adorable, but no," Veronica said. Thank god for that.

"Game Night?" Reggie suggested. "Sounds like a football movie."

"It's not," Veronica said.

"Bullet In The Head," Hiram said dryly, looking through the dark room at the couple across from him.

"I don't think that's on Netflix, daddy," Veronica said.

"Is that even a movie?" Mira heard Archie whisper.

"American Beauty?" Mira suggested, realizing her life had become the real life adaptation of that movie.

"Love that movie, but a little too scandalous for right now," Veronica said. "Let's just watch Titanic."

The movie played on for a bit, and Mira prepared herself for the crying session she would soon be apart of. She loved this movie, but the feeling of Hiram's eyes burning into her prevented her from enjoying the romance between Jack and Rose. She could tell he wasn't happy about Reggie, or the fact she had come to his house with Reggie. He was doing a fairly good job at keeping it together, though. However, when Reggie faked a yawn and put his arm around Mira everything fell apart.

"Alright, get the fuck out of my house now," Hiram said, standing up from his seat and walking over to the screen. With one hand he grabbed a few plugs and ripped them from their sockets, causing the screen to go black just as Jack was about to draw Rose like one of his French girls.

"Daddy!" Veronica said, appalled by her dad's behaviour.

When no one moved, not because they weren't scared, but because they were frozen in shock, he walked up to Reggie and looked him dead in the eyes. Mira bit her lip at Hiram. She couldn't help it. He was so hot when he was angry.

"What did I just say?" Hiram said, looking down at the boy.

Reggie immediately stood and hurried out of the room with Archie following close behind.

"Do you really hang around with boys like that?" He asked Mira.

"Oh my god, you have no right asking her that!" Veronica said, grabbing Mira by the arm and pulling her from the couch. "Let's go."

Although Mira wanted to stay, her and the group hurried from the house and made their way to Pop's for some milkshakes. Reggie asked if Mira wanted to share one with him, but she politely declined. She wanted her own and she wanted all of it.

"I'm so sorry, guys. I don't know what came over my dad," Veronica said.

"I'm sure he just has a lot going on," Mira said, hoping that would lesson some of Veronica's anger. After all, it was kind of her fault Veronica's dad had acting like that. Even though his behaviour was over the top, she had still caused it.

"Yeah, don't worry about it," Archie smiled.

"He still scares the shit out of me," Reggie said and they laughed.

Suddenly, Mira's phone rang so she excused herself from the group to answer it. The caller was unknown and she'd never seen the number before, but she answered the call anyways.

   "Hello?" She said.

"Meet me tonight by Sweetwater River," said Hiram from the other end.

"How did you get my number?"

   "Do you understand, Mira?"

"Yes," she said and the phone cut. She had a strong feeling about what he wanted to talk to her about, she just hoped it wouldn't be as bad as she imagined.
