In this story one of the characters, Reagan has something called a 'little space'

To be simple that means he sometimes acts a lot younger than he really is.

That's a really straightforward explanation if you don't know already, but want to know more just look it up! ❤

Also, he doesn't have an extreme case, just a small little space.

So he's not a baby lol.

"Guess what guys?!" Rowan shouted coming home from a late shift.

I lifted my head.

"It had better be food."

A loud bark made me jump to my feet horrified.

"I got a foster dog!"

Roman and I looked at each other.

"Oh, oh my fucking shit."

"Oh my fucking fuck, god no!" Roman shouted.

I grinned.

"Good one."

The loud dog ran into the room and completely froze staring at me.

"W-why is he looking at me like that?"

The dog dropped to his knees- kind of, and a bit of drool began to slide down its face.

"You- you are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen in all my life!" The dog breathed.

"And you are the most disgusting mutt I've ever been forced to gaze upon," I told it and jumped into Roman's arms.

"I agree, let's go Sora." Roman stood allowing me to lay on his wide shoulders.

"Where are you going? Aren't you going to pet Obie?"

Roman turned up his nose at the dog.

"No. I'm not. That dog will not be staying longer than a week."

Rowan sighed and gave Obie a pat.

"Let's watch tv in your room."

***

"A dog, why a dog?" Roman complained turning off the television.

I yawned.

"Tell me about it, I mean jeez, am I not enough?"

Roman quickly confirmed my words.

"With you messing up the house all the time we don't need a dog."

I sniffed.

"It's not me, how many times do I have to tell you Carrots is setting me up?"

Roman sighed.

"It's time to mentally prepare myself."

I cocked my head to the side.

"Why?"

"Reagan has another session tomorrow, and something tells me he isn't going to want to go."

I nodded and stretched.

"My poor nerd... Hmm."

Roman opened the door and Obie sat there waiting, flower in his mouth.

I let out a loud cat scream and quickly ran for it.

"Help! There's a dog stalking me!"

Reagan's eyes widened in horror as I bumped him, making him lose his game.

"Sora! Why did you-"

The dog came running into the room loudly barking.

"My love! Do not fear!"

I jumped into Reagan's hair and hissed loudly.

"I'm already in love with my nerd!"

Reagan jumped to his feet and skidded away from the dog.

"R-Rowan! Why is t-there a dog in h-here?"

My eyes instantly narrowed.

Reagan only stutters when he's scared...

This dog dies tonight.

Rowan came in laughing lightly, nervously.

"I know you don't like dogs, but I had to take him for a few days."

Reagan glared at Rowan.

"Don't like dogs? I hate dogs! You know I don't like them!" Reagan yelled making Rowan look astonished.

I was too, Reagan never yells.

"Hey, I'm sorry, but it was either that or he had to be there all alone." Rowan defended.

Reagan closed his eyes cheeks flushed.

"People are more important than animals!"

Rowan shrugged.

"Okay, I'm sorry, but Obie is important too."

"I'm your brother!" Reagan snapped and placed me on the couch and stormed out of the room running to his slamming the door.

He sighed and looked at me, I turned away.

"Oh come on, not you too Sora."

"You should have thought of other people's feelings before a dog you barely know."

Rowan pouted and then sagged.

"He's - your all right, I should have known Obie would remind Reagan of Warren."

My ears perked up.

"Warren? The creep? What does that have to do with dogs?"

Of course Rowan didn't answer.

"The dog will be gone by the end of the week! I promise!"

***

"Sora, my Flower, how my soul longs for you."

I wrinkled my nose and covered my ears with my paws.

"Make him stop." Carrots pleaded.

"My heart! It's burning! Burning for thy love my sweet, sweet flower!"

Obie continued to howl into the night.

***

"Reagan stop hiding! You have to go!" Roman shouted and kept up his search.

"I won't!" Reagan yelled and then went silent.

"Oh my god, Reagan come out right now!"

After another ten minutes Roman turned to me.

"Sora can you find Reagan?"

"Oh? Roman the great asking me for help? Well then, what's in it for a lowly cat like me?"

Roman looked around then leaned down.

"I'll let you sleep with me."

I clapped my paws. "About time. Now, where is my nerd?"

I sniffed and found Reagan hiding in a closet.

"Sora, you traitor!" Reagan said sagging as Roman stood before him crossing his arms.

"I'm sorry! He offered more than I could even fathom."

"Let's go. We're already late. Do you want to bring Sora?"

Reagan slowly nodded and then winced.

"Can't you come in with me? Please, I don't want to go back all alone!"

Roman refused to soften.

"Out that door. Now."

Reagan slowly sat in the back seat and crossed his arms.

"Aww, my itty bitty nerd is pouting."

Roman dropped Reagan off in the waiting room, but because we were so late the lady had decided to attend to another client first.

Reagan wiped his eyes and decided to color with the crayons that were there.

Don't tell me Reagan has a little space.

Yup, he does.

He colored a picture of a truck and sighed kicking his feet back and forth while just simply being adorable.

He sneezed cutely and covered his nose.

"Reagan Klent, she's ready for you."

He picked me up and followed the girl to the lady's office.

"Ah, welcome back, please have a seat."

Reagan quickly sat and gulped waiting.

"Today I'm going to show you pictures, then you will tell me what you see."

First, she held up a black and white traffic cone.

Reagan confidently told her it was an ice cream cone.

She showed him a picture of what appeared to be a... dead body?

Yes, a dead body.

Reagan had a different opinion.

"A big pile of jelly beans."

She raised a brow but continued.

"And this?"

A picture of what seemed creepily close to a breast was shone.

"The moon!"

Reagan was much more relaxed than last time, and seemed to be enjoying the 'game.'

"Last one." She told him with a smile.

A river.

Reagan gazed at it frowning.

"I, I don't know this one."

She pursed her lips.

"What does it seem to be?"

"A water fountain that got broke on accident."

"Got broke? What kind of grammar is that?"

She put the cards away and folded her hands in her lap.

"Reagan, why don't you tell me about Warren."

He froze.

"D-do I have to?"

She shrugged thoughtfully.

"Wouldn't it be nice to get it off your chest? I can't tell anyone what you say, by law."

Reagan gasped.

"E-even Roman?"

She nodded smiling.

"I can't even tell him unless you give me permission."

He nodded and took a deep shuddering breath.

"Let's talk about something easy first, why were you so scared to come this morning?"

Reagan shrugged playing with his hands.

"I was scared... my brother got a dog yesterday! I hate dogs!"

Her lips twisted into a bigger smile, then she noticed him eyeing one of the toys she kept for younger children when they came to play.

She handed him the truck and waited for him to keep going.

"Warren had a dog, it was really big and mean," Reagan told her while playing calmly.

It was clear his guard was down, and while acting like this he wasn't overly emotional.

"Really? Did it ever hurt you?"

Reagan shook his head.

"No, but it did really weird things when Warren told it too - I feel funny,"

Reagan touched his head closing his eyes.

"My head hurts when I talk about that," Reagan told her after a soft whimper.

"Alright, how about we talk about something else. Do you have any friends?"

Reagan made a whooshing sound as he played then answered.

"No, I don't need friends, friends hurt me. I have Rowan and Roman. They're my brothers."

She nodded warmly.

"No one else?"

He pointed at where I laid beside him.

"This is Sora! She likes to watch anime and lay in my hair! Sora is my friend."

I gave him a lick and purred.

"My poor little nerd."

"Oh, Reagan it looks like our time is up, I'll see you next time okay?"

He laughed and nodded.

"Okay! Is Roman here now?"

She nodded just as Roman walked in.

"Roman! Guess what! I got to see cool pictures and play with a really really fun truck!" He gushed.

He nodded and gave his head a playful pat.

"Alright, we'll be back next week hopefully," Roman told the lady while Reagan picked me up quickly.
