This chapter is going to start... a little sad... so...

Sorry. 😭

Reagan slowly sat and heaved a sigh.

"To start, we will play word association. I say the word and you will tell me what comes into your mind."

He slowly nodded holding me to his chest.

"Scary."

Reagan shuddered. "People."

She wrote swiftly and continued.

"Uncontrollable."

Reagan's whole body clenched.

"Emotions."

She pondered and spoke.

"Pain."

A gasp of distress came from Reagan's mouth.

"Warren."

The girl paused pen not moving.

"Now that's something, who is Warren?"

Reagan was frozen.

Completely frozen.

I looked up at him in concern.

"Nerd?"

Reagan shook his head and forced himself to speak.

"H-he was my friend."

She nodded. "Was your friend? What happened?"

His heart was pounding, fingers clenching and unclenching.

"We played games all the time... but then..."

He trained off looking into the distance.

"What? What happened?" The woman asked kindly.

"He said he loved me."

His voice was emotionless, empty.

To be honest it terrified me.

"Did you love him?"

That snapped Reagan out of it.

"N-n-no! Not a-t-t all!"

She cocked her head to the side.

"Then? Was he upset?"

Reagan pulled me close and pulled his knees up to put a wall between them.

"Y-yes. H-he ran away- he w-was crying."

Reagan shook violently.

"I-I -I didn't know! I didn't know he w-would be so a-angry, that he would h-hurt me!"

My heart dropped to the bottom of my chest.

Hurt him?

Oh, oh my god...

"What did he do?"

He began to cry, cry so hard it seemed he had stopped breathing.

"He touched me! H-h-he wouldn't s-stop-p!"

Tears pricked my eyes.

No wonder...

That girl,

And acting like a child...

Reagan was traumatized.

"Then? What happened after he touched you?"

"Can't you see he's upset! Stop!"

"He said we would be together f-f-forever, I don't want t-that! He wouldn't let me go!"

The girl walked over and touched his arm causing him to flinch back violently.

"That's enough for today. We'll get through this together. Okay?"

Reagan nodded shakily.

"I w-want to go home. I- I wa-want Roman."

The woman nodded.

"I'll call him right now."

Reagan rocked back and forth.

"I want t-to go home, please l-let me go home."

I licked his face and rubbed against him.

"Shh, you'll be home soon."

He pulled me to his face and shuddered.

"He's always there Sora, a-always there." He whispered shaking.

Fuck! Now would be a good time to be a human!"

"Ray-Ray?"

Reagan jerked up and rushed into Romans' arms.

"I- I don't l-like this Roman, I don't w-want to come here a-anymore."

Roman rubbed his back looking at me from where I sat on the chair Reagan had been sitting in.

"I know Ray-Ray, I know."

***
I stomped through the house.

I need more information... how do I make Reagan feel better without breaking into a prison to kill his stalker?

I moved over to the parrot, who I still didn't know the name of.

"What's Reagan's favorite things?"

The Parrot shrugged. "Flowers, to be specific, daisies."

I nodded and looked out the open window.

"I will find this flower or die trying! It is my quest!"

I climbed out of the window preparing myself for the fall.

Cats always land on their feet right?

Wrong.

With a shake of my fur, I ran through the pain in my side to go raid someone's garden.

After an hour of nothing, I grew bored.

I hummed a song from a movie I didn't remember and grinned seeing a daisy.

"Finally! I thought I would starve to death before I found the flower!"

I rushed forward only for a big fat orange cat to jump in my way.

"Beat it, this is my territory!"

I nodded understanding.

"That's why it smells so bad!"

The cat hissed.

"Leave and I'll let you live you stupid kitten."

I got into a fighting stance.

"I know kitty kung-fu, you don't want to mess with me."

The cat bowed.

"The lost art of kitty kung-fu? Oh Master, how may I serve thee?"

Wait, so that's actually a thing? Jackpot.

"Bring me a daisy! It's life or death!"

The fat cat bolted and brought me the flower laying it at my feet.

"Thanks, see you around."

I bolted flower in my mouth.

My mind only had one thought.

And it was on repeat.

Reagan.

Reagan.

Reagan.

I wanted to make him smile.

It's funny, how only a few days can make you really care for someone.

I jumped back inside the window dodging Rowan.

I hopped onto the table then sailed over Romans' head into Reagan's lap dropping the flower before him.

"My nerd, my dear sweet poor nerd, I offer you this-"

"Achoo!"

Reagan sneezed and tossed the flower away.

"I'm allergic to daisies, but it's the thought that counts right?"

Damnit.

Rowan laughed. "Hey I've heard of cats giving dead mice and birds, but never flowers."

I sniffed feeling betrayed.

"How about a dead, lying, shitty, parrot?"

A loud squawk told me the cheap bird had heard my threat.

I ran off Reagan's lap and jumped onto the table to scratch the damned bird.

"Sora don't hurt Carrots!"

I froze and burst out into kitty laughter.

"Carrots? He named you... Carrots?"

He flapped his wings angrily.

"So? I happen to love carrots."

I shook my head and went back to Reagan, a bird names after an orange food was no threat.

I purred in contentment as Roman also gave me an affectionate pat.

I have been welcomed into the tribe.

What a good feeling.
