Cpt. Yen: This is Captain Yen of the Aurora. Six days since the dark matter reactor explosion. As far as scans pick up, me and Valdez are the only survivors so far.

We managed to salvage the seaglides, and we got a load of scrap as well, so our fabricator's working overtime building all the ingredients we require for our survival. We made high capacity oxygen tanks right away, since we're going to be spending so much time underwater.

We've picked up emergency SOS messages, and followed them all, but everyone's dead before we got there. That's the bad news. Good news is, our trick worked. We're currently gathering materials to build an air pump between the surface and our pod. Not sure if it'll work, but it's better than standing around here, twiddling our thumbs.

Valdez is a good second-in-command. He doesn't complain, although he has no end of snark or comebacks. And he says something's tugging at him, urging him to swim towards the deep waters. I tell him that it's nothing, but occasionally he'll look towards the dropoff near our pod wistfully. I'm worried about that.

I can't deny that I haven't been feeling the pull too. Something strange is nearby. And I can feel it tugging at me too, urging me, if you will. Not sure what it is. I am not sure I want to know either. Some demonic leviathan, I'd bet.

Hopefully, once something comes to save us, it'll go away. In the meantime, we've got a full agenda - after our air pump, we'll pool our resources to make a habitat constructor, see if we can make a base. That should help our survival chances.

Valdez is returning with as much titanium and ore as he can carry. I'll have to help him load it into the pod. We stay down here as long as we can, having crafted our O2 tanks. We store our supplies in the chest and lay them on the ground.

This is Captain Yen, out.
