Did I mention I was having a shit day? It all started like this. Sunaina messaged me at six in the morning telling me that she was going to the airport with her boyfriend and that she wouldn't be able to sit with me on the bus. Next thing, once we get on the plane, the teachers say we have to sit I role order, that too by first names. That wouldn't have been too bad because I would've just asked  Silicity ( the girl who would've sat next to me) to swap with Sunaina but she'd already  swapped so she could sit with Rohan. I sigh in frustration. Nothing is worse than having your best friend ditch you for her boyfriend. I mean, she did apologise, but it still sucks. When we finally reach Goa I want to jump down to the beach right away. That's not going to happen because the teachers decided that we'll be touring around the city. Okay, to be honest this wasn't too bad because we got to go shopping. I bought myself a beautiful silver anklet from a stall that I planned to wear at the beach later. After the tour groups, we finally reached the beach. The only downside was that it was six pm and the swimming hours were over.  I drag my bag into the room I'll be sharing with Sunaina. I take the bed on the right hand side and begin unpacking my suitcase , pulling out pink dress and tennis shoes to wear. I step out of  the shower, pulling my hair into a pony tail, when I see the note in my handbag. I take it out carefully, not wanting to crease it. I hear the  other shower running, so I know Sunaina is here. I tear the envelope open and read it slowly.

Dear Shanaya,

Meet me outside on the beach at eleven pm. I've got something  to show you.

Oh my fricking gosh.. He's asking me on a date. Holy flipping shit. I don't know why I'm so excited, honestly. I mean, it's not like I haven't been on a date before. I've  just never been on a date with someone I cared about so much. Sunaina comes out of the bathroom dressed in a  dark blue denim skirt and a baby blue shirt. " What's that?" She asks, reaching out towards the note. " Nothing" I mumble. It's not something I want to share with her. "Sure it is" she reaches out chasing me around the room until she finally snatches it off me.   Her eyes widen mischievously as she reads it and I snatch it back with an unfamiliar ferocity. It's my letter. From my Abhi. " Well after dinner we'll have two hours to doll you up!For now, let's get some dinner" 

*two hours later*

I didn't see Abhi at dinner which makes me nervous. 

What if this is just a prank? I don't want to embarrass myself again. I walk back to my room with Sunaina and the question slips out. "What if it's a prank?" I blurt out. She smiles, "I know it's not". I frown at her, "How would you know that ?" .  She hesitates, "While you were having a shower I flipped it into your bag. Abhimanyu hadn't seen you all day so he told me to give it to you secretly" .  I wonder if I should kill my best friend or give her a huge hug. I settle for the latter. " Come on. You need to get ready" Sunaina grins.
