Narrator's POV

Your mom was driving you home. The car ride was silent as you were trying to process what had happened.

So he has a girlfriend...
Is it the girl Misaki mentioned?
Is she the girl that supposedly isn't my competition?
Not gonna lie, she was really pretty
Such long blond hair, blue eyes, the right height, such flawless skin and the perfect shape that guys seem to be into...

What was I thinking?

Note to self: stop being confident all the time. You are not as pretty as you think you are.

I mean I get it, guys like girls like her which isn't anything bad but you know, it hurts that I don't fit the standard.

I mean I'm not bad looking or at least I think. I am pretty tall for girl which I know guys don't like (middle school boys loved to preach on it). I don't have big boobs which is such a blessing for dancing but pretty unpleasant in reality. Not to mention, you have so much fat on you. Why would a boy like a girl with saggy rolls. It's so unattractive and how are your suppose to dance in crop tops if your saggy rolls be sticking out like a sore thumb. So disgusting.

It's okay, all you have to do is lose some weight then you can do the competition feeling confident.

Forget him, he doesn't want you, so let it go.

"Sweetie you okay?" You could hear your mom talking to you.

"Yes! Yes...I'm fine?" You snapped yourself back to reality.

"You sure? You seemed so upset as you arrivedback to the car," she pouted.

"Yeah yeah I'm fine. It's just that I sorta got rejected, but not really. But don't worry, it's okay," you awkwardly smiled.

"Yikes...who was the girl?"

"I don't know, but I think she was his ex," you guessed.

"Then it would have never worked out. The moment a person is still in contact with their ex, one of them will still have feelings for the other person," she sighed with relief. You tried to smile but it still kind hurts to be rejected.

"The first step of getting over a boy is to stop being in contact with him. Being with him will make you fall for him even more," she explains what she wants you to do.

"I can't do that," you refused.

"Why not?" She raised her eyebrow.

"He is my ride after school," you looked disappointed.

"Wait, he is that boy?" She looked a little disturbed.

"Yeah why? What's wrong?" You questioned.

"I don't know just didn't expect him," she was disappointed.

"Anyways, I shall talk to your father and see if you can use the train after your dance class." We had arrived in our neighbourhood.

"Thanks mom," you smiled softly.

"You're welcome sweetie. You know I don't like it when someone hurts my baby," she pouted as she parked in front of our house.

It's was Sunday afternoon and you didn't do much today. You laid around sulking and constantly having meltdowns. You were on your bed looking up at your purple LED lights that mom had bought for you this morning. She felt bad for you so she had bought knowing that you've been begging for them. The whole day, her and your dad have been leaving you alone to relax and not think about anything. They wanted to go to a seafood restaurant near by together, but you refused and told them you were not in the mood. They understood and left the house with you all alone.

During the day, you decided to send a message to Kiyoomi, expressing how you want to end this friendship. You felt to embarrassed to tell him face to face.

Saki 😚

You
Hey Kiyoomi. I wanted to talk to you in person but I couldn't bring myself to, so here it goes.
I don't want to be friends anymore. I feel uncomfortable with  you. I would rather be acquaintances or even less than that, to be completely honest with you. You don't have to drive me home anymore and I won't be watching your games or be at your practices. I think our friendship moved to fast for the both of us. We literally just met two weeks ago or even less. I'm not sure.
I hope you understand.

After you finished writing your message, you blocked because you didn't want to see his response. You knew it would hurt you even more.

You hear the door bell ringing all the way from your room. You assumed it was the McDonald's delivery person.

You walked out of your room and went running downstairs in your pyjama shorts and your oversized black shirt. You went towards the kitchen counter, where your mom left her debit card. You took it and ran towards the door with your fluffy white socks on. You open the door and see that your eyes were deceiving you. You didn't see any motorcycle with the McDonald sign nor any person with a bag with your food but instead, you see Kiyoomi looking down at you. "Uhhh hey?" You became self conscious as realise what outfit you were wearing.

"What the fuck was that message? Why did you block? What did I do?" His face looked angry with a lot of rage. His tone didn't help with fact that you were on the verge of crying. You happen to cry a lot when someone shouts at you. You sucked it up and pushed back your tears.

"It's as the message said..." you slowly stepped away from him.

"And the blocking? What was that for?" He didn't let you get away with your response.

"Well...," you could feel your throat being clogged by something. "I didn't want to see your response to it."

"And who is going to drive you home from now on?" He crossed his arms.

"My parents allowed me to start going home by train," you quietly answer.

"Okay, but can just tell me why you don't want to be friends? Why do I have to lose you?" He sounded unhappy with you.

"It's not your fault...it's mine. Sorr-" your voice cracked as your tears came gushing out. You wiped your face as you felt so pathetic and worthless.

"How is it your fault?" You saw his hand reach for your hand. You let him hold your hand.

"It's because I like you! Okay, I like you and the fact that you kissed a girl in front of me was just a reality check that I shouldn't like you. Plus I highly doubt that girl would want us to hangout like that. You should be happy, you saved yourself from a big fight," you let out your cries. You aggressively let go of his hand went to go get a tissue.
