Ian POV

"You hungry?" We are driving away from the gym towards our homes. "I am, but I didn't bring any money. I'll wait when I'll get home." I look over at Quiet and shrug my shoulders, "I'll pay, my treat."

She shakes her head, "No, you really don't have to." I pull up to a Waffle House. "I want to." I get out and bang on my car, "Let's go Quiet. Or I will carry you out."

She quickly gets out the car and walks pass me towards the restaurant. We go to a booth and she shivers, "My legs aren't cold, but my upper body is." I look pass her and point, "You'll get warm soon, we're sitting by a heater."

She looks behind her and squeals, "Thank God!" A waiter walks up to us and smile, "What drinks would you like?" Quiet smiles at the man, "Do y'all have hot chocolate?" He smiles back at her and nods his head, "I'm guessing you would like hot chocolate."

She nods her head and clap, "I would like the same thing." He writes it down and walks off. I look at Quiet and she gives me a small smile, "I didn't know Owen fights."

I shrug my shoulders, "I didn't know myself. I literally just found out who he was not too long ago." The waiter comes back with our drinks and takes our orders.

"He taught me a lot of moves. The only one I got down was the submission hold. As you already know that since I did it on Benson." I let out a soft laugh, "He texted me and told me that he would like to train you one day."

She looks at me and smiles, "I would let him, but I already asked Owen to train me." I take a sip of my hot chocolate and look at her, "When will he train you?"

The waiter comes back with our food, "I hope you both enjoy your meal." He walks off and Quiet looks back at me.

"He'll train me after cheer practice. Can you take me and he can drop me off at home?" I let out a long sigh. Why does he want to train her all of a sudden?

Whenever she's getting train I'll just watch them. "Um, yeah I'll take you. The days he's training you I will watch." She looks at me with curiosity all over her face, "Why are you going to watch?"

I show her a small smile, "So I can tell if you're ready or not to get in the ring with me." She rolls her eyes, "I'll do you like I did Benson." I suck my teeth and laugh, "He was taken by surprise. I was taken by surprise myself."

She starts laughing, I look at her and smile. I like seeing her laugh and smile. I hate seeing her cry, I hate seeing her go through this mess because of Megan.

"I want you to smile and laugh more often when you're around me." She stops laughing and looks at me with something in her eyes, "I want you to know that whenever you cry I will be there by your side in a flash. I want you to call me when you're feeling down."

Silence takes over us for what seems like an hour but was only seconds. "Are you okay? You seem a little different for some reason." I look at her and clear my throat, "No, I'm just talking."

She shows me a small smile, "It's time for me to go home." I look at my watch as I pull my money out to pay for the food.

We leave the restaurant and head to her house. I pull up to her house minutes later, "Sleep tight Quiet." She waves as she gets out the car.

I watch as she gets into her house. I don't know what I was thinking when I said all that out loud to Quiet. I pull out my phone and call Hannah.

"Hello."

"Why did you leave the gym so early?" She scoffs on the other end, "You're just now calling me to ask that? What took you so long to call?" I roll my eyes as I get out my car and walk into my house.

"I was with Quiet after we left the gym. We went to Waffle House. You could've gone, but you left early." She stays quiet for a few seconds, "Because you kept showing Hazel all of your attention."

"How the hell was I showing her the attention when she was all the way in the back?! I wasn't paying attention to anybody but me and Benson! Stop lying and tell me the truth!" She sucks her teeth and sighs, "I hate how everybody was so focused. I wanted to do something, but I didn't have a change of clothes. So I just left, I'm sorry if me leaving made you feel some type of way."

I let out a long sigh and then a soft laugh, "I'm not mad at you now since I found out the real reason why you left. I wanted you to stay and watch me. Next time you come I can teach you a few things." She starts laughing, "That'll be fun. I'm sorry if I've been a pain."

"You're not a pain, you're my girlfriend. I'll see you tomorrow, I have to get in the shower." We hang up after that and I get in the shower.

I get out the shower and walk towards my bed. As I'm getting in my bed my text tone goes off. It's a message from Quiet.

Thanks for the food. Night.

I smile at the message and reply.

You're welcome. It was good along with you. Goodnight Quiet.

I put my phone down and lay down. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better for everyone.

Next Morning

I pull up to school and as I'm parking Shane jumps on top of my car. I quickly get out of my car and pull Shane off, "What the hell is your problem?! Why the hell did you just jump on top of my car?!"

Lily comes up to us and laughs, "I dared him to do it. I didn't think he would." I look at her as if she just grown two extra heads. "Knowing Shane, he would do something this stupid! Don't include anything of mine in your dares!"

Shane stands up and wraps his arms around my shoulders, "It's not like I'm hurt or anything, stop worrying so much." I push him away, "I don't care about you! I care about my car!"

He looks at me with his hands over his heart, "I think my heart just shattered into pieces." Mason and Austin walk up to us and start laughing.

I roll my eyes at them and walk pass them. Mason catches up to me, "Don't tell me you're mad." I suck my teeth, "I don't know why I am. I should be used to Lily and Shane actions by now."

Austin comes up on my other side, "You really should. Shane dared Lily to kiss the next boy that walk pass her and it was some little freshmen boy." I shake my head with laughter, "Now the little freshmen is in love."

Austin nods his head agreeing with me and Mason starts laughing. As we're walking we see Quiet with her hoodie on. I look at her with an arched eyebrow.

"Cupcake, why do you have your hoodie on?" She looks up at Mason and smile, "I feel weird without wearing it every now and then." Mason throws his arm over her shoulders, "You still look like your cute self."

She shows Mason a small smile and looks at Austin. She grabs his hand and pulls him off somewhere, "I'll see y'all later, me and Austin have to do something!" Before I could say anything they are already both out of my sight.

"At least she's okay." I look over at Shane and him and Lily are walking towards us. "I thought she would go back in her shell after what happened yesterday." Lily sucks her teeth, "Please don't bring yesterday up."

Mason lets out a long sigh, "What did y'all do yesterday anyway?" He points at the both of them. Shane shrugs his shoulders, "I took her somewhere to clear her mind. At first, it didn't work, but after a few minutes it did."

Lily looks at me, "I'm sorry about yesterday. I was just mad at Megan, I didn't mean to come at Hannah or to say that I hope your relationship ends." I look at Lily and hold my arms out.

She walks into my arms and I wrap them around her, "You said all that for Quiet. There's no need for you to apologize." She smiles up at me and moves back. "Now that this situation is close, let's get to class before we're late."

I'm walking to class and see Quiet and Austin with some boy from the cheer team. I hide behind some lockers to listen to the conversation.

"Matthew this is Austin and he would like to get to know you." Quiet introduces them to each other, "I know who is, but I don't care to know anything else." The boy states back, I hear footsteps coming my way.

I quickly turn around to look at the bulletin board beside me. The boy runs pass me and down the hall. I go back to the lockers to hear what Austin and Quiet will have to say.

"Austin did you do anything to him or something?" I peek over and see Austin looking at the floor, "It's not what I did, it's what I saw. I'll see you at lunch, I'm going to my class before I'm late." He heads in the opposite direction and leaves Quiet by herself.

She starts walking, "Ian, do want to walk to class together?" I come out of hiding and start stuttering, "U-u-um y-y-yeah. H-how did you know I was here?" She looks at me and laughs, "I saw you peeking."

I let out a soft laugh, "I'm glad that you're okay." She shrugs her shoulders as she hugs herself, "You did tell me to be stronger." She looks up at me and then back at the floor.

"And I also told you to smile more. Your past few smiles have been fake since I saw you earlier."
