Ian POV

We are still in the barbershop waiting. "After we leave here, we're going to stop by my office." I look at Hazel and arch my eyebrow, "What for?" She glares at me, "So I can wrap your hand up."

Before I could say anything, Aaron's teacher comes up to us, "I'm ready for Aaron now. You can come back here if you want." We stand up and follow him. Aaron gets in the chair and Tyriek puts a drape over him.

"How long have y'all two been dating?" Hazel eyes widen and she shakes her head quickly, "No, no, no, no, no! We're not dating, we're just friends!" I see relief go over his face after hearing Hazel answer, "Oh, I thought y'all were dating."

Hazel continues to shake her head, "No, he has a whole girlfriend himself." Tyriek looks at me and then back at Hazel. I'm guessing the teacher has a little crush on the doctor.

He turns his razor on and starts on Aaron's head. "Since you're single, I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?" I choke on my spit and Hazel hits my back. "A date? You want to go on a date with me?"

Tyriek starts laughing and I look at Hazel, "Yes, I want to go on a date with you. Is that a bad thing?" Hazel shakes her head quickly and smiles, "Um, I would love to go on a date with you."

I knew this would happen, but I didn't think he would ask her with me being around. "How about Friday night?" Hazel looks at me and then back at him, "Yeah, Friday's good for me."

After haircut

"Okay, I'm done. Do you like it, Aaron?" Tyriek grabs a small mirror and put it in front of Aaron's face. Aaron looks at himself and then smile, "I like it! Thank you Mr.Wood!" Aaron gets out the chair and walks up to me.

"Let me give you my number. It's a surprise on where we might go." They exchange numbers, "Okay, we'll see you later. Say bye Aaron."

Aaron waves as we leave, "Bye Aaron, I'll see you tomorrow in my class." We walk out, "Take us to my office, I have to wrap your hand up." I head to her office, I look in the rearview mirror and see a sad look on Aaron's face.

"What's wrong Aaron?" He looks at me and then shake his head, "Nothing, I'm just ready to go home now." Hazel turns around and smiles at him, "We have one more stop and then we can head home." I let out a long sigh, "Aaron, you know I'm good at detecting liars? You've had a sad look on your face since we left the barbershop. Now, tell us what's wrong."

He looks at me with wide eyes and then out the window, "I don't want mom to go on a date with Mr.Wood." Hazel looks at Aaron with an arch eyebrow, "Why? He's a nice man, I thought you liked him."

I pull up in the parking lot, I put the car in park and turn around to look at Aaron. "I do like him, I like him as my teacher. I don't want him to be my dad, I want Ian to be my dad." I suck in a breath and look at Aaron with wide eyes, "Aaron I told you not to say that again, especially around your mother."

Aaron looks at me, "I didn't mean to, it slipped out." I throw my head back and sigh, "Remember what I told you? Me and your mom are just friends, you will have someone else who will be your dad." Aaron shakes his head and I groan, "I'm sorry Aaron, it's not my choice, it's your moms choice."

I look at Hazel and see her looking at me with something in her eyes. She looks at Aaron, "He's right, me and Ian are only friends. You can still be close to him as much as you want, but Ian can't be your dad." Aaron slowly nods his head and we get out the car.

Hazel unlocks the door, "Aaron you can wait here or you can wait in my office." He sits down in the first chair he sees and we walk to the back. "When will his cast come off?" She looks at me as she takes a wrap out. "This Friday, I'm going to wrap it up in a wrap like yours."

I nod my head, she starts wrapping my hand and I look up at the ceiling. "Are you against me going out with Tyriek?" I look at her and see her looking at my hand, "Even if I was upset, I can't change anything. You hate me and I can't do anything about it."

She stands up, "I don't hate you and I'm scared about that." I look at her with shock eyes. She doesn't hate me anymore, I thought it will take her longer to stop hating me, "I don't hate you, but I don't want to get close to you. I don't want to get hurt again."

I jump off the bed, "I'm not going to hurt you again, I promise." She shakes her head, "The last time you promised something like that you ended up closing the door in my face." I take a step back and sigh, "I know, I regret doing that to you. Can we just start over?"

She hugs herself and shrugs her shoulders, "I don't know yet, let me think about it for a little bit." I slowly nod my head, "Since I'm going on a date Friday night, do you want to take care of Aaron?" I lean against the wall and cross my arms, "Yeah, I'll take him to Underground after school."

We go back to the front, "Come on Aaron, we're going home now." Aaron stands up and walks to the car. "What am I going to cook today?" Hazel looks back at Aaron and smile, "What do you want to eat tonight?" He smiles back and looks up at the car, "Um, can we have fried chicken and macaroni and cheese?"

She nods her head and laugh, "Yeah, I can make that. I actually want some myself." We make it back to the apartment, "Last one up has to lick my foot!" I say as we get out the car.

Hazel and Aaron both run towards the stairs, "Eww!! I'm not licking your feet!" Hazel shout as she pulls Aaron along with her. I get in the elevator and hit the number four.

As soon as the elevator door open I see Hazel and Aaron run by. "Y'all don't look tired." Aaron shakes his head, "Me and mommy race up the stairs every now and then, so we're used to it." I look at Hazel and she nods her head, "Yeah, he's telling the truth."

I shake my head with laughter as we walk in the house. She goes to the kitchen and I follow her. Aaron runs to his room. "You want me to help?" She shakes her head, "Nah, I got it. You know you haven't looked at your phone all day?" I pick up my phone and see no new notifications, "Hannah usually would call or text me, but right now she's upset."

She arches her eyebrow at me, "Why? What's wrong with her?" I let out a long sigh, "She said me and Megan embarrassed her at her company event last night." She starts laughing and I sit down on the stool, "How did y'all embarrass her?"

"For one, the main person of the event talked for two hours straight! Two whole hours! I'm not even lying! So as soon as he was done me and Megan had stood up and clapped too loudly." She continues to laugh, "What else happened?"

I shake my head, "We joked around while he was talking. Some people heard the jokes and started laughing. Mason and Hannah, we're both mad. Mason got over it, but Hannah, on the other hand, didn't. She made me sleep in the guest room last night."

She clears her throat and smile at me, "At least it wasn't the couch." I scoff and roll my eyes, "If there wasn't a guest bed I would have been on the sofa." She nods her head agreeing with me.

She starts cooking and I watch her. "Are you going to watch me the whole time?" I smile at her, "Yes I am, it's different seeing you cook." Different emotions run through her eyes, I couldn't figure out either one of them.

"Aaron lets pick out something for you to wear tomorrow." I say as I walk to his room. I go to his closet and my mouth drop, "You already have so many clothes. Your mom spoils you, doesn't she?" He nods his head and I laugh, "Do you even know what spoil mean?" He shakes his head, "No, I just nod my head. Is spoil a good thing or a bad thing?"

I look through his clothes, "It's good to a certain extent. You don't want to be spoil too much if you're too spoil it won't do you any good in the future." Seconds later Hazel comes in, "Did you find anything?" I shake my head, "No, I might let him wear some cargo shorts and a Nike T-shirt with some Jordans."

She pulls out some cargo shorts, "I think that would be nice. It's not too much and not bummy looking." I look at a corner of his room and see that he has a rack full of shoes and hats, "Hat or no hat?" She shakes her head, "No hat, I don't want him to drop it while he's outside and it gets dirty."

I put his outfit together and smile, "Aaron, you're going to have all the girls fall for you." Aaron looks at me and laughs, "Make sure you don't break too many hearts." He nods his head and I laugh, "Go take your bath Aaron, the food will be done soon. We can finish watching all the Shrek movies while we eat." Hazel says as she gets up and heads back to the kitchen.

I hang his outfit on the closet door and go to the kitchen. "Can you set the movie up? I'll make our plates while you do that." I nod my head and go to the living room.

"Ian, your phone is ringing. It's Hannah calling you." Ah shit, this phone call is about to be hell.
