ROSEANNE

"Now tell me, why were you ignoring me? Me! The love of your life, the one who will love you unconditionally. The one who- nope, I ran out of words." Sitting cross legged on the couch, I reach for the T.V. remote control.

I hear the boy sigh and I frown.

Is he mad at me?

That would explain why he read my messages, but never responded.

"Princess, I won't lie to you and say I didn't mean to ignore you because I did. But I am sorry, I shouldn't have ignored you and I hope you forgive me for that.

"You don't have to apologise," I mumble. "I understand that you didn't want to talk to me, you don't have to so there is no need to apologise for that-"

"Nooo, don't say that." He groans.

Say what?

"Huh?" I ask as I click Netlfix and resume watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

"What I'm trying to say is, don't say that. I like talking to you. Even if you say some weird things and constantly attack me with pick up lines, I enjoy it." He explains.

He enjoys my pickup lines?

Did he get hit on the head or something?

"Oh, but I'm serious, don't ever feel like you have to talk to me. After all, I'm just a stranger that keeps texting you.

"No, baby.  You're not. You're more than that. And even if you are, you're my stranger. And don't you ever forget that."

My breath hitches as he says 'my stranger', but I decide to play it cool.

"Awwe, you care about me!"

Stranger laughs. "Eh, just tiny bit. It's hard not to when you have a girl who constantly expresses her love for you."

"I should mark this day on my calendar as the day you finally confessed you care about me." I tell him with a smile as I watch Ross argue with Rachel over their baby.

'They just need to hire a babysitter.' I think to myself.

"Of course you are." He mutters.

"But stranger, how are you? Are you okay?" I ask.

"I'm alright, baby. But I'll be better. I just haven't been feeling well in the last two days." He explains and I lower the volume of the T.V.

"Have you taken medicine?"

"No, not yet." The boy answers.

At this, I do a double-take.

"What? You doofus, you should have taken medicine since yesterday!" I exclaim hoping to knock some sense into him.

The stranger chuckles. "I thought we were having a moment, babe. And then you suddenly call me out."

Ignoring his previous statement, I say. "Hurry up and take some medicine!"

Strangers whines in response. "But I'm tired and I'm laying on the bed. I'll do it later."

Okay, I'll give him a pass.

"You promise?" I frown.

"I promise, princess. I'll even send you a picture." My eyes grow wide as soon as he says that.

"OF YOUR FACE?" I ask.

"You wish, but no, I will send you a picture of the medicine."

"Aww," I sigh.

"Don't pout, there will plenty of time for your fantasies of me. He cooes.

"They are not fantasies!"

"Aha, sure."

"Hey," I whisper.

"Why are you whispering?" He replies back.

"I don't know, it seemed appropriate," I say. "But while we're on the topic. Tell me one thing about you."

"Eager aren't you?" He taunts.

"Shut up,"

"I told you, feisty." He clicks his tongue as he says this.

"Oh my gosh, just tell me."

"I'll stop for now," He starts. "But what do you want to know?"

That was a very good question.

I was curious about who he was.

But I was also curious about what he looked like.

"Umm, tell me one thing about who you are." I say.

"Hmm, I really thought you would ask me to describe my appearance."

"I'm curious about that too, but I want to know who you are, stranger. But if you want to tell me what you look like, I'm very fine with that."

Actually I was more than fine.

I was curious of what kind of person would tolerate me.

Perhaps it was just kindness.

Or maybe he really did grew a soft spot for me.

Laughing he says, "I'll tell you one thing of each. Okay, my eyes first, umm, my eyes are green with hints of gold around the iris."

I stay silent as he says that.

He sounded... beautiful.

And I tried to imagine a blurry face with green eyes.

"Princess?" He calls out.

"I'm here," I reply softly.

"Why did you go silent?" He asks.

"It's because your eyes sound beautiful," I whisper.

"Oh, no need to go speechless on me. And here I was thinking that you didn't like my eyes."

"No!" I immediately respond. "I love them."

"But you've never seen them." He trails off.

"I don't have to. They sound breathtaking."

"You have a way with words, love. I can't wait to see your reaction when you see my actual face. You might just faint. And then I'll let you fall, while I dial the emergency number."

"..." I stay quiet until I speak. "Confident much?"

"Of course, my amazing looks are loved by the girls."

"I hope you're not cheating on me." I warm him.

"Never." He whispers.

I smile at that.

"Tell me the other thing." I prop.

"Oh, umm I like to paint and draw." Stanger responds.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I haven't done it since I arrived. But I like it."

"That's so cool," I tell him. "Do you perhaps want to pursue a career in art?"

"I'm not sure, I mean, I have an uncle who has an art gallery. But I'm more interested in pursuing medicine." As he talks I find myself focusing on his voice, the show, completely forgotten.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S is not important right now.

Not when I'm talking to Stranger.

But, Stranger does have a really nice voice.

The type that I would love to hear everyday.

Turning off the T.V. I change positions to lay on the couch. "Do you want to be a doctor?"

"Mhm, a surgeon actually. It must run in my blood because on both sides of my family there are a lot of doctors. And the ones who aren't do something related to art."

"If I get sick, can I go see you?" I ask.

"I would much rather have you visit me for another reason, but yes, you can."

Woah, I was actually expecting him to say no.

"Aw thanks. Even if you have said no, I would still go see you because I would be your wife."

Stranger chuckles in response. "You seem really sure that we're going to get married."

Even though I only say those things as a joke, I enjoy getting him riled up. "Didn't I tell you we were meant to be?"

"You did, many times in fact. But you know that nowadays a lot of couples are getting divorced."

"If you decide to divorce me, I'll just make you fall in love with me again. But first I actually have to win your love." I say.

That would probably never happen, not even as a joke.

Who would want to date me, much less marry me?

I frown at my thoughts as I slowly feel my mood grow somber, but his voice next words bring me out of my reverie.

"Don't give up. I want to know if we ever do get married." He tells me.

"Pfft, give up? I would never."

I hear some rustling in the background until he speaks. "What about you, love?"

"Me? What about me?"

"Tell me one thing about what you look like."

Ooooh, he meant that.

I focus my eyesight on the wall ahead of me.

What could I tell him? It has to be something that he won't judge me for.

I hesitated because I was afraid that in the end, he would be like the guys who have bullied me. But it was only fair that I told him something about myself.

"Princess? You still there?" He suddenly asks.

I exhale and reply. "I am, I was just thinking about what to tell you."

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I don't want you to feel like you owe me a response."

He's sweet.

I don't think he is like the guys at school. But I could be wrong.

Taking a deep breath, I say. "My eyes are brown. Just brown."

"Hmm, princess Fiona has brown eyes. I like it." At his nickname for me, I roll my eyes.

"You're lucky you're it for me."

"Oh my, how lucky am I to have a random stranger love me." He says dramatically.

"Yes, you are." I say.

As Stranger yawns and I check the time.

04:16 p.m.

It's still early and he's sleepy?

He did say he was feeling sick.

Deciding that it is better for him to take his medicine, I speak. "Stranger, go take your medicine and then go to sleep," I tell him.

"But-"

Cutting his off, I continue. "But nothing, how is that both of your parents are doctors and yet, you don't take medicine on time."

"Tsk, tsk. I'm disappointed in you stranger. Do better next time." I say lasty.

He yawns again. "Alright, princess. I will do as you say. Take care, yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Good, Ciao princess Fiona." He says and I notice a hint of his Italian accent.

Just for that, I say the following words.

"Bye Shrek, I love you!"

Without letting him reply, I hang up the phone.

I sigh and place the phone on the floor.

He made me happy.

Probably the happiest I have been in a while.

But what will happen when he meets me?

Could I be wrong about him?

I don't know.

But for now, I would just try to hide from him.

It was better that way.

○○○

So random, but I was scrolling through my drafts on Microsoft word.

And I have so many ideas.

Like, if I wasn't such a sucky writer, those drafts and ideas would become great books.

But then again, that's not going to stop me. I'm probably going to publish all those drafts on Wattpad and then write the books.

BECAUSE I HAVE WILLPOWER. AND BECAUSE I LIKE WRITING. AND BECAUSE IT IS FUN.

BECAUSE YES. BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN MYSELF, OKAY THAT IS ONLY LIKE 0.0000001% TRUE. BUT, I ASPIRE TO HAVE CONFIDENCE AND GET BETTER AT WRITING.

I truly do aspire to get better at writing, but patience young grasshopper aka me. All in its due time.

I JUST WANT TO BE AMAZING AT WRITING. LIKE, WONDERFUL, GREAT, MARVELOUS, ETC.

But, I'm slowly learning, so that's good.

I SHOULD PROBABLY STOP WRITING IN CAPS.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk. *bows*

Me when I saw my drafts actually have potential ^^^.

I was like 'yes, I like this. Aha, very good. So much potential 🤔🤔'. And then they actually sounded intriguing and I was doubting my abilities like, 'did I really write this? When was this?'🧐

By the way, I'm sorry for my weird notes at the end of the chapters. I have my moments sometimes.
