The sun had just set, and the full moon was illuminating the dark sky with the stars. It was the perfect time to just lay down on a rooftop and watch the twinkling lights above.

A beautiful night sky; not befitting an upcoming tears of despair and pain. The moon that seemed to follow your footsteps as you ran to where Oikawa was, felt like it was mocking you—or rather, anticipating to witness something that will break your heart.

It certainly wasn't this beautiful when you confessed to each other.

When you arrived at the same park you two met last week, you were out of breath. But you didn't waste any time and immediately turned your gaze to search for Oikawa's figure.

He was sitting on one of the swings with his head slumped down. It was unknown if he was crying or not. Seeing him like this made your heart ache a lot worse.

Though Oikawa only sent you a message of him, asking you to never leave him, you kind of already guessed that he already knew about your departure and how he found out. You concluded that he just found out today since he wasn't acting any differently for the past few days.

You ran to find him since you wanted to see him as soon as possible, but now that you only need to take a few steps towards him, you hesitated. However, when you heard Oikawa sniffling, you ran again and hugged him tightly.

Oikawa widened his eyes at first, but after recognizing your gentle scent, he stood up and wrapped his arms around you, burying his face on the crook of your neck as he cried. In return, you cradled his head—your fingers in his hair as tears started falling down your cheeks.

Just last week, you two were also hugging in the same place after admitting the feelings you had for each other. Although you two cried, there were mostly tears of joy. Who would've thought that you weren't even official yet, but here you are, crying because you are leaving Miyagi; you are leaving him.

You two haven't even started properly conveying your feelings since Oikawa was busy from all the practicing.

"Don't go...Y/N..." his muffled voice cracked. Your face crumpled at his plea; you wanted to say that you won't, but you didn't want to give Oikawa false hope. So you could only apologize as you two cried continuously...

"I'm sorry...I'm sorry..."

Hearing your answer tightened Oikawa's embrace while he teared up silently. "I haven't even courted you properly..."

You closed your eyes and savored Oikawa's warmth. When you two first met, you certainly didn't know that he loved hugs and would later be a crybaby. But you were also the same when it comes to him.

And right now, what you two wanted is to not let go of each other.

"I'm okay with long-distance relationship..." You said with a faint smile. Oikawa's body stiffened for a few seconds before he pulled himself from you and you opened your eyes to meet his pretty brown ones.

"I mean I haven't had one, but I think I can manage," you added. Your left hand caressed Oikawa's right cheek and your thumb wiped his tears away. Looking at this boy was making your heart burst with affection. You just want to take him in your arms as long as possible.

Then he suddenly placed his hands on both of your shoulders and enthusiastically asked, "Then, will you be my girlfriend?!"

His sincere eyes were glazed with tears that was coming out of his eyes again. Although both of you don't know the pain of being in a long-distance relationship, you two wanted to take risk. Oikawa have heard from his other friends that long-distance relationships never works, but he didn't let that faze him.

Your faith in each other was unwavering. Even though you didn't know how relationships exactly works, you're willing to learn. Oikawa on the other hand, wasn't planning to take the relationship the way he knows since you were different. He has figured out that it was not just dates, gifts, and sweet words that can make a romantic partner happy.

"Yes, Tooru-kun."

FEW MONTHS LATER

"Kyotani, congrats!" Kuroo Tetsuro greeted you when you got back to your seat after receiving your diploma. You flashed him a bright smile before responding, "Congrats to you too, Kuroo-san."

When you moved to Tokyo, the school you transferred into was Nekoma High School. You have heard from your friends and classmates, Yaku and Kuroo, that they've visited Miyagi a few times and mentioned Karasuno's VBC.

You were reminded of Aoba Johsai's loss because of this and you told them that your boyfriend was the captain of the team that Karasuno faced in the semi-finals. Although you didn't notice, they were actually dismayed to know that you were already taken. Still, they stayed as your friends.

"Y/N-chan! I'll miss you!" Hanabi, one of the friends you made in Nekoma, ran to you right after she received her diploma. She greeted you with a hug, which you returned warmly.

"I'll miss you too, Hanabi. Thank you for being my friend," you said, making her teary-eyed. Yaku and Kuroo who were watching the scene sighed at the fact that they never got the chance to court you. Though they had a type of their own, your personality was what caught their attention.

"What a lucky guy her boyfriend is," Yaku mumbled, but it was loud enough for Kuroo to hear.

"He better not make her cry..." The dark-haired male responded to his friend before sighing.

Too bad you were already taken by a certain crybaby.

After the ceremony was over, you, Kuroo, Yaku, Hanabi, Misa and Yui decided to have a karaoke party one last time, so all of you walked towards the gate together.

You were laughing with you girl friends when your eyes turns at the gate and you caught sight of a familiar stature. Your feet stopped moving and since you were kind of in the middle of your friends, they immediately noticed.

"Kyotani? What's wrong?" Yaku asked, staring at your shocked expression. Then they observed that you were looking at something so they followed your gaze.

There they found a guy with brown hair who stood out with his handsome appearance. He was wearing a casual outfit, but he looked incredibly attractive in them. The particular guy was earning glances from girls who passed by him, but his eyes were also directed at you.

Before your friends could look at you again, they found you running towards the guy. You immediately greeted him with a hug and he caught you perfectly. They watched the two of you curiously.

"I missed you so much," you said with your face buried on his shoulder.

"I missed you the most," Oikawa replied.

You two weren't lying since you seemed to forget that you were outside. It was not until your friends approached the two of you that you pulled away from each other with a blush particularly in your visage.

"Then, we're going now, Y/N-chan. Bye!" Hanabi smiled brightly at you because she knew how much you missed your boyfriend. Then they left without asking any questions.

Since you two couldn't talk outside, you invited Oikawa to your house. What you didn't expect however, was you stepmother and brother who prepared your favorite foods and a cake to celebrate your graduation.

Kentaro frowned at Oikawa's appearance while your stepmother laughed delightedly. She pulled Oikawa to the couch, knowing that he was your boyfriend, and pulled out baby pictures of you while also telling him stories about you.

"She was a really adorable child." Your stepmother remarked with a hind of boasting. Oikawa who stared carefully at your pictures that were taken after the traumatic events, agreed enthusiastically.

"Okaa-san, please stop it..." You said timidly with blush.

You tried to stop them out of embarrassment but Oikawa continued to listen with a sparkle in his eyes. Because of this, you two didn't have a chance to talk about the news Oikawa gave you just weeks before you graduated.

Though you were still happy that Oikawa seems to be enjoying everything.

A sigh came out of your lips as you walked side by side with Oikawa. It was already getting dark and you feel apologetic that you kept him so late even though he has to go back to Miyagi. Your stepmother invited him to stay but he declined politely.

"When is your flight, Tooru-kun?" You asked while trying not to sound so sad. Oikawa wore a mellow smile because he was the one leaving you this time. He reached for your hand and interlaced his fingers with yours.

"The day after tomorrow," he paused, "I'm sorry if it's so sudden..."

Few weeks prior, Oikawa told you about his plan on going to Argentina and joining Club Atlético San Juan. He already mentioned to you how he got inspired from an Argentine player when he was young, so it was understandable that he wanted to pursue his volleyball career there.

It's true that you were sad that he's going so far away, but you also feel proud of your boyfriend.

"Don't worry, Tooru-kun. I'll wait for you." You gave him a gentle smile which he returned. He felt his heart ache but he didn't hate it.

"I'm so glad that this is working for us," he said and you agreed.

"I love you, Y/N-chan." Oikawa gave you a smile that reached his eyes. He looked genuinely happy and relieved.

You two stopped walking and coincidentally, there were no people passing by since you weren't near the train station yet.

"I love you too, Tooru-kun."

After you said those words, Oikawa leaned in and pressed his lips against yours. He didn't move nor asked for entrance, but he stayed there with neither of you pulling away. Well, it was more like him being relaxed while you stiffened in shock.

Even though you didn't expect it, you also didn't hate it. You actually wanted it to last longer, but Oikawa already pulled away exactly right after you closed your eyes.

He pulled you against his chest before placing another kiss on top of your head. You couldn't understand why he was so composed when you were panicking inside along with your rapidly beating heart.

"Thank you, Y/N-chan. I promise I'll definitely come back to you." He whispered to your ear and after that, he started walking away. Without waiting for your reply and leaving you speechless and flushed.

It seems that he intends to go to the train station on his own since Oikawa was worried that by the time you go back, it's already dark. However, you followed his footsteps and pulled his wrist so he can face you.

His eyes widened and before he could ask if something was wrong, your arms wrapped around his neck and your lips crashed against his. A single tear slid down your cheeks and Oikawa saw this.

The former Captain also closed his eyes and his hand pulled your waist towards him while his other held your cheek. He deepened the kiss and slid his tongue inside your mouth. Both of your mouth tasted of the cake you ate so your first kiss was definitely sweet.

He didn't need to fight for dominance since you easily gave in and let him lead. You don't have experience after all. The fact that it felt weird was undeniable but it made butterflies in your stomach to flutter nonetheless. You were puzzled on how a single kiss could convey so many emotions.

It felt like you were melting in his arms that you didn't even notice how you got home because you were in a dazed state. When you remembered the feeling Oikawa gave you as you two passionately kissed and his alluring gaze, your face burned red.
