"Oh...you like someone?" Masato asked, his expression revealed nothing but heartbroken. You gulped in nervousness at the lie you told—of course you liked everyone. A girl like you, have no clue what it feels to have romantic feelings for someone.

How will you able to differentiate your feelings when you're happy with so many people now?

That's right—the realization you had, was to say that you had liked someone. It was a tip Hikari gave you, while she was saying that it's better to say you liked someone than turn them down without anything; it might get them think that there's a problem with them. But that was just her opinion, and you thought she was right since this was all new to you.

However, when you said you those words, a smiling Oikawa popped in your mind. Then your heart swelled with longing, that it really hurt and you were in pain. As an oblivious teen, you got nervous that you might be having health problems.

"Yeah...I-I'm sorry." You softly said, as your eyes averted to your feet. You were feeling torn for some reason. Anxiety settled in your heart as you clenched your fists.

"It's okay, Kyotani-san. I understand." Masato said with a smile, and because of it, you felt a little at ease.

But, it seems that you were relieved for nothing.

"But don't have feelings for Oikawa-san," he said. "I'm saying this, because he is the only guy I see, that is close to you."

You blinked in confusion at Masato's words. He was obviously serious, based on his tone. The atmosphere got tense, and you felt like someone had thrown a bucket of cold water over your head.

Oikawa, who was currently listening, also widened his eyes in shock. He didn't have a clue as to why this guy he doesn't know, was doing this.

What was Masato's motive for saying this?

"W-What...?" You breathe.

"Oikawa-san will just play with your heart. So many girls; he leads them on and leaves them hanging. He is just a scum that uses his popularity to play with his fangirl's feelings. I'm giving you a sincere advi—," Masato wasn't able to finish what he was saying when you abruptly interrupted him.

"Stop. Stop it." Although your voice was still soft, it was obvious that you were serious and firm. You gave him a glare which made him nervous.

"You said it yourself, Masato-san," you paused as you tried to not look as angry as you are inside. "They are Tooru-kun's fangirls. They wouldn't be one if they didn't admire him, so how dare you trample with those admirations? It's not like Tooru-kun asked them to like him."

You were calling him by his name again. But only Oikawa noticed this, because what you were so focused on, was defending him from slanders. Your heart was pounding so loud that you suddenly felt energized and powerful.

"His interactions with his fangirls might seem not reasonable to you, but those girls are definitely happy that their admirations were acknowledged. If they caught feelings for him, then it's on them. It's not like Tooru-kun is obliged to feel the same—just like how I am to you," your words were so straightforward that Masato couldn't even say anything in between.

"Even if the one I like is him, he doesn't have to return it. He owes me nothing. Moreover, whomever I might have feelings for and my decisions are none of your business. So please refrain from meddling and spreading false informations. "

Masato was dumbfounded. The timid and shy girl in front of him was gone, and he didn't recognized you. It was as if you had become a different person. Not even stuttering once and standing straight while looking determined and strong.

The Captain of the volleyball team who heard everything you said, was also dumbstruck. He was so happy that he could feel his heart jump. Slowly, his cheeks and ears flushed as he pressed his lips into a thin line—trying not to grin so big and dopey.

The guy in front of you clicked his tongue and his smiley face earlier was gone and turned into something filthy; as if he just removed a mask he was wearing.

Oikawa now remembers why he felt something off from the guy, it was because he's the infamous third year who kept slandering the Captain for a long time now. He just forgot for a moment because he didn't pay much attention to the guy who wants it.

"Tsk. I didn't liked you that much anyway, thank you for proving it, b*tch." Then he walked away in defeat, because you weren't offended by his words. You just sighed and hoped that he finally stops gossiping like an envious pleb about his peers.

Somehow, as Masato left using the same direction where you all came from, he didn't notice the crouching Oikawa who had his back against the wall while his face was buried between his knees and arms.

But when you were the one who was gonna pass by, Oikawa was standing up and you noticed him right away. His head was hung low and his hair made a shadow on his handsome face.

"T-Tooru-kun...?" You wondered if he was standing there all this time, but the fact that he might be eavesdropping didn't cross your mind. In fact, you thought that if he really stayed, he did it to protect you since you knew he was overprotective.

Then you remembered the things Masato said about him and it made you sad. You thought that it's probably why he's looking so glum right now. Your heart ached at the thought that those words might've wounded him—and his helpless look earlier when he was leaving didn't go unnoticed by you too.

You slowly dragged you feet in front of him, and after a few seconds since you stopped, you reached for his hand as you held it like a delicate glass between your warm ones.

"...Did you...hear it?" You asked softly and gently as possible with your voice. Your heart was beating so loud and different. You feel light, safe, and peaceful.

"Don't worry, Tooru-kun. I don't believe those words, I know you are not like that, okay?" A smile so sincere and pure, graced your lips as Oikawa looked into your eyes that was full of warmth. You were making him fall deeper, but he was grateful that you were the one he loved and not any other. The only thing is, the idea that he might fall for someone else or lose his feelings for you, seemed distant and impossible right now.

In an instant, he felt something snapped inside and his free hand, grabbed your wrist all of a sudden as he pulled you more close to him. You gasped, it was so delicate that Oikawa's cheek reddened more.

His face got so close to you that your breath hitched and you also blushed. This was a familiar scene of two people, getting closer for a kiss that you saw in the few movies Hikari and Akane made you watch, and it made your mind go blank. And like he also intended to go for it, Oikawa lips stopped in front you, with only a few centimeters away. You could feel his hot breath against your lips, but you didn't know if it was hot because you already felt steamed.

Your heart was going crazy in your chest that you were a little afraid that Oikawa might hear it, and ask you. You don't know what to say about it.

However, Oikawa still got a little of his rationality before he was completely overwhelmed by desire. So instead of going for a kiss he wanted so bad, he just leaned his forehead against yours with his eyes closed. He wore a pained expression while you stared at him, perplexed and dazed. You had the urge to comfort and hug him, but you also didn't want to move for some reason.

As you questioned everything that's happening and fought the impulse to just close your eyes and take in the moment, you heard a miserable plea from Oikawa.

"What should I do, Y/N-chan..."

I want you so bad.
