That day, when Kyotani Kentaro exploded in front of you, he began distancing himself. He was aware that his feelings for you are getting in the way of his clear judgement. You on the other hand, treated him not so differently—even to the point as if he didn't just shouted harsh words to you.

From greeting him normally to waiting for him to go to school together. But Kentaro could feel a barrier between the two of you. He thought it would be better if you just ignored him altogether. Because you, not even staying mad at him, is driving him more crazy.

The feelings he promised he would never let out are now raging inside of him. Because you are so forgiving, he's getting the idea that you might accept his affections even though Kentaro also knew so well that he shouldn't. He has currently forgotten about his vow to protect you and his feelings are taking over.

Kentaro's feelings are on the verge of spilling out and he's more threatened because of Oikawa who you suddenly gave permission to enter your previously secluded world. On the back of his mind, there's a voice telling him that you're just making friends, but Oikawa's gaze when he looks at you is something he recognize.

Now that he's staring at your back while walking to school, he couldn't help but feel that you're going to leave him someday. Kentaro fears that the most.

"Kentaro, please watch our play this afternoon." You suddenly said, making him snap out of his thoughts. "I'll do my best for you to see, just how much I've improved for myself."

As you glanced at him over your shoulder, a gentle smile spreads across your face. He wasn't expecting for you to give him this kind of smile so fast after what he had said.

"I might get help from calming pills though." You added before a light giggle escaped from your lips.

Because of your casual words, Kentaro feels more guilty. Several emotions are clashing against each other inside of him right now. He was drowning.

Your heart thumped so loud as you feel your hand sweating while holding the basket. The calming pill was taking effect just now, when you've already messed up your first lines with the fairies. Your voice was shaky and you almost forgot to move when you saw the audience.

But even though you clearly remember it, your nerves were calm and you could think logically. Although you can already predict that you'll be embarrassed as hell when the effect's finally gone.

(Note: You guys can decide with the shoes.)

Your friends only gave you a pat on the back and a thumbs up as a sign that you did great. It was obvious in their delighted and proud stares that they wanted to say more, but you needed to go back to the stage now since the play was still on-going.

The next scene was when Aurora was told to pick some berries by the fairies as they plot to prepare for her upcoming birthday, and she meets Prince Phillip for the first time. In the play, it's Oikawa who you're going to dance with and the ones who got casted as the animals. And this is the scene where you'll be singing "Once Upon a Dream".

As you step foot back in stage, the spotlights greeted you once again and you took a quick glimpse to the audience who watched with anticipation. Happiness bloomed in your chest.

Because of the post that was meant to defame you—though it was also taken down immediately—you were worried that only a few people would watch the play. But the tickets were unexpectedly sold out.

Your friends suspected that it was mostly because of Oikawa's fangirls from another school, but you were still elated otherwise you'd blame yourself if it didn't. You have made friends with almost everybody involved in the play, that's why you didn't want everyone's months of effort to flop because of your past.

Now that you felt really relaxed, you smiled and started acting, your weeks of practice finally paying off. Your feet glided across the floor almost seamlessly as the memory of your body aching all over when you first started practicing, flashed in your mind.

"I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream~"

After being forbidden to drink or eat any cold beverages and foods, your voice was indeed sounding wonderfully as you started to sing. Your hands clutched tightly at Oikawa's cape that was wrapped around the guy who got casted as the owl.

"I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam~"

The melodic voice was echoing inside the auditorium beautifully as the body moves along with the rhythm. It was enthralling for the audience to listen to your singing. Though you still had a little stiffness as you dance, it wasn't that noticeable because you were still dancing gracefully.

"Yet I know it's true, that visions are seldom all they seem~"

Now, your memories of falling down from nothing and slipping across the floor when you were just starting are popping up in your mind randomly. To avoid this from happening, they chose a low-heeled shoes for you with the gown. You wanted to wear whatever comfortable underneath, but you tried twirling in your gown and your feet peeks through.

"But if I know you, I know what you'll do~ You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream~"

Your movements and voice were so eye-catching that almost all the viewers didn't notice Oikawa as Prince Phillip, taking a peek behind the bushes with the two guy who got assigned to be the horse.

While you were vocalizing feeling yourself, excitement and joy was taking over. And Kentaro who watched as you sang without a hitch, had his eyes wide open to a girl he couldn't recognize.

When Oikawa stepped in, instead of feeling jealous, Kentaro was knocked into his senses. His wishes for you to be a happy girl without letting your past be a shackle finally came back to him. This was it. His feelings were never the one that reigned inside of him—in fact, he didn't care even if it was never revealed to you until the end. Your genuine happiness was what mattered the most.

It was the happiness for the girl who longed to achieve it that he sincerely hoped for.

A defeated smile graced his lips as he looked at you in the dark, affectionately. As if sensing this, you turned to the audience and gave your genuine grin. As saying, "this is for you".

If I can't find happiness, then I'm going to decide to be happy!

From then on, you felt light and free. It was your intention to smile at the audience where Kentaro was, in hopes that its message will reach to him. And it did, though you don't know yet since you didn't actually see him.

The next scenes came out great and hearing the audience laughing from the comedic actions of the kings and fairies were a good confidence booster.

"OMG! You're so pretty, Y/N-chan!" Mayu exclaimed with a clap as she finished retouching your makeup while your other friends also helped you getting in the dress.

You thanked her as you smiled but you were getting rushed so it came out a little insincere. The scene where you're supposed to prick your finger in the spinning wheel was next and Momo, the Maleficent of the play was currently acting.

You, walking to the door leading to the stage as the ones in-charge with the costume and makeup followed you, came to a halt when you almost bumped into Oikawa. Unlike you, he was still not on his aristocratic suit since he still has a scene without him wearing it.

He inhaled sharply when he finally saw you on full glamour. You have practiced with the dress before and he admits that you were beautiful then, but you're more breathtaking right now even without your tiara yet.

Oikawa's face felt hot as he slowly blushed in front of you. Because of his sudden bashful reaction, your face reddened as well.

Reina—the girl assigned with the costumes—and Mayu, looked at each other with sly grins. They're thinking the same thing.

"Oikawa-san, we know that Y/N-chan's beautiful. You can stare at her for how long you want to, but she's not gonna make it to her next scene." Mayu teased and it only made you and Oikawa blush more.

"You might want to wipe off that drool over there." Reina smirked as she pointed at Oikawa's lips and he panicked. If it was possible to be as red as a tomato, Oikawa would definitely turn into one as he wiped nothing off his face. Just the fact that he considered he might've really drooled because of you embarrassed him greatly.

"Stop teasing me!" Though he angrily puffed his cheeks at the girls, he wasn't really mad, and you all giggled at his reaction.

Because of this, the awkward atmosphere became lighthearted, but it was time for you to act again. So the conversation didn't go any further. You only smiled at each other while Oikawa waved at you.

As you turned your back, you found yourself looking forward to seeing him in the stage again as you will stare into each other's eyes. It was a magical moment for you when it happened as you danced with him in the forest scene. When you two touched your hands, it felt like it was the first time even though it wasn't.

Oikawa's voice intertwined with yours nicely and you were ecstatic. You couldn't stop grinning at him and he was the same, unconsciously wishing for the time to stop even for a moment.

You wondered why you were ever scared of him when he was so kind and gentle to you. With no personality filter of course. He teases and jokes with you whenever he wants to, but he still shows high respect towards you and knows the lines he can't cross. You've observed him treat your friends, his friends, and everyone in the play. Though Oikawa likes to fool around, he's a nice person overall who makes you laugh every time.

Slowly but surely, though you still haven't realized, he is starting to make your heart feel tight and race when he's around. This is gonna be an unexpected romance for you. And by the time you realize it, what decision will you make?

But one thing's for sure, now is not the time to make any move. Oikawa was still on his way to repair your heart as a friend, even though he wants to be more than that. He doesn't know what will happen in the future, but he's absolutely set on helping you be free from your cruel past.

As he stood beside your makeshift bed as he faced the audience, his gaze held nothing beside affection as Oikawa's eyes hovered above your "sleeping face". Like how you two practiced, he kneeled on one knee at slowly leaned to your face. Soon, you felt his warm breath passing from your lips up to your forehead, and he kissed you there lightly—as if he should be more gentle to you.

The kissing part was not part of the practice since you panicked and the teachers in-charge decided that Oikawa will just do it in the actual play. That's why you two blushed as you pretended that you just woke up from a sleeping curse.

The audience cheered when it happened and as compensation for the improvised kiss, as the teachers instructed, Oikawa carried you off the bed bridal style. Your hands were wrapped around his neck and you tried your best to smile at him according to the script, but the corners of your lips twitched.

Then the ballroom dance came, but you two were still blushing furiously. Both hearts however, started wavering when you two stared at each other. For you, it's the first time you're seeing him in his full glamour outfit and Oikawa's more handsome than in his Howl's costume.

He had his hair styled which you appreciated immensely since it complimented him extremely well. The captain of the volleyball team looked like a literal Prince that came out from a fairytale book.

Oikawa's thoughts about you wasn't that far from yours. He thinks you look like a fairy, or even an angel. He knew it was outdated, but those words really do fit your current image. And since your hair wasn't covering your face like usual, he thought you were really alluring.

"You did great, Y/N-chan." Oikawa said in a low tone, making you the only one to hear his words as you two danced the final scene.

"You were amazing too." You softly replied with a gentle grin.

"I know," he joked and you almost giggled.

"Let's just ignore the fact that you almost drooled."

"I didn't drool!"

You showed him a playful smirk and Oikawa almost laughed since the fact that you're teasing him was amusing for him. But when he looked at you again, you had a different expression on.

"You're a really kind and considerate person," you uttered gently. To you, he thought.

"Thank you for taking me this far. Thank you for accepting me, Tooru-kun." You added as a single tear of happiness escaped from your eye, while Oikawa gave you a bittersweet smile.

Both of you unconsciously wished to stay by each other's side even if there's no play to connect you anymore.

Author's Note:
Thank you for those who encourage me from the previous chapters! I appreciate you guys and I feel really grateful! Love you all!

Anyway, if you guys disliked the costumes I've picked, it's totally fine to imagine a different one. They're just my preferences from liking too much fantasy stuff hahaha. If you were looking forward to a modern one, I'm sorry but I'm not a big fan of modern styled attires.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! Thank you once again!!!!
