MIA

"Hello?" I asked, answering my phone.

"My mom's being a bitch, can the twins and I stay at your house?"

"Isla?" I asked, sitting up.

"Yeah," she replied.

"What the hell happened?"

"My mom told—no demanded I'd marry a man because as a lesbian I cannot create children."

"What!?"

"So I grabbed Emma and Anna and ran."

"Where are you? I'll come pick you guys up."

Silence and then, "I'm outside your front door."

I smiled and ran down the steps. I threw open the door to reveal Isla and her sisters, drenched by the rain.

"Are you crazy? It's raining for eff's sake!"

"You have bathrooms with hot water, we'll be fine," Isla replied, trudging past me.

We both sent the girls to a bathroom so they could get warm. While they were in there Isla dried off and had changed into a pair of my pajamas. We were laying on my bed, facing each other.

"Thanks for the clothes," she said.

"No problem," I replied, and pressed my lips to hers.

She rolled us over so I was on top of her.

She moved her lips to my neck and pressed rough kisses to it. And then she—

"Your vag is buzzing."

"Shit, that's my phone."

"Are you going to answer it?"

I shook my head no as the buzzing stopped and pressed my lips again to hers.

And the buzzing started again.

I groaned and Isla said, "Answer it."

I rolled off Isla and answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"There's this thing called caller ID you should try it."

"Nice to talk to you too Macy."

"Be here in ten minutes," she said.

"I can't." I glanced at Isla. "I'm with my girlfriend."

"Let me rephrase," Macy said. "Be here in ten minutes or you're off the team and I'll tell your little girlfriend that you actually agreed."

"Fine," I said, through gritted teeth. "I'll be there." I hung up.

"Anything wrong?" Isla asked.

"Macy wants me at her house now," I said, as I changed clothes. "Cheerleading meeting."

"Can't you not go?" she asked.

"No," I said. "You have to understand I'll do anything for the sport I love. If I was of the team I'd—I'd be devastated."

"I get it Miss Telenovela. Just hurry right back."

I gave her a peck. "Will do," I said and left.

'I will do anything for the sport I love' no 'I'd do anything not to hurt you, Isla'.
