"Alright, that's a wrap," Colin said with a smile as he lowered the camera from his face.

Looking down at the screen, he flipped through the photos he had just taken while Austin started to pack up the lighting equipment.

Dakota, the girl who posed on the stool a few moments ago, retrieved her bag from the sofa in the corner of the studio and then disappeared into one of the changing rooms.

She returned, now fully clothed- not in the unbuttoned shirt she had used for the shoot but in a knee-length sundress that showed just the right amount of her long tan legs.

This wasn't the first time Colin had to take photos of girls who were a bra-throw away from being naked, and it wouldn't be the last time either. Some of them actually requested that he be the one to do their shoot. He understood them perfectly.

After all, who would like it if their photographer pitched a tent in his pants while they were in a secluded room? No one. Except, girls in porn scenes that centred around that topic. And maybe, the occasional exhibitionist.

Fortunately for Snapshot Multimedia, they had Colin Mitchell. The resident male who felt no sexual attraction to females and therefore, wouldn't have to hide a boner in the middle of a shoot. When it involved a hot male though, that was a different case.

Which is why Leonard, his boss, never let him near the studio when there was a dude involved. Unless it was a wrinkly old man who wanted a birthday shoot he would send to his kids in Kansas, or something like that. Leo definitely pitched him for those sessions---without any hesitation whatsoever.

Dakota ran a brush through her ruffled hair and proceeded to throw a wink at Colin as she walked out of the studio, small hips swaying with every step.

Wait, she was forgetting something, Colin thought. But he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was. It finally dawned on him.

"Don't you want to look at the pictures first?" He asked, rushing after her to the front desk.

"I've seen your work, so I trust they look great. Just email them to me."

She took both his hands in hers and grinned widely at Colin. A second later, Colin felt something press against the inside of his palm.

She was right---about the photos looking great, of course. She made it easy to take perfect pictures with how natural she was at posing, how comfortable she was with her body. She could be a great model.

In fact, Colin was sure the pictures could be for her portfolio, or something of the sort.

Dakota's hand moved to her ruby red lips as she blew him a kiss, lips pursed. Colin pretended to catch it, then pressed his palm flat against his left cheek.

Her laughter rang out as she left the store. With a wave, she turned the corner and moved out of view.

Colin leaned back in the sofa, grateful for the tip he had gotten. It was fifty bucks, just what he needed in addition to his savings so he could buy that skateboard from Amy.

Yes, Amy Mitchell, his own flesh and blood, his only sibling, wanted to sell Colin a skateboard that was given to her as a gift. But it doesn't matter, now that I have enough money, Amy has no reason not to give me the skateboard, he thought.

A glance at his watch told him it was a few minutes past his lunch break. It didn't matter that Dakota's session ate into his time though; she made up for it perfectly.

He picked up the steaming hot mug filled with a fresh batch of coffee and raised it to his lips. The potent scent filled his nostrils as he took a sip. It burned his tongue but the sting was welcome. Today was a good day for Colin, and it was already off to an impressive start.

But he didn't even get to savour the heavenly taste of the espresso because the bell above the door rang, indicating someone's arrival.

With the mug still pressed to his lips, Colin studied the couple who walked through. No, they weren't a couple. More like brother and sister, she looked a bit older than him. Or maybe they were a couple, maybe the guy preferred older women. A little girl was with them, aged around twelve or thirteen. She could even be nineteen for all Colin knew because they were Asian, and Asian people hardly looked their age as far as he was concerned.

He watched them as they approached the desk. The woman, finding out no one was seated there, looked around the store. She spotted Colin lounging in the back and smiled. He smiled back.

The guy, however, was oblivious to his surroundings. He was absorbed into whatever conversation he was having on the phone and didn't seem to care much about being here.

"Hello, is anyone around?" The woman called out. The little girl huddled close to her, tugging on her ponytail as if she was feeling it out.

Strange, is what Colin found her action to be.

"Mitchell, there's someone at the desk!" Leo yelled from his office.

"I know!" Colin answered, taking another sip from his mug.

"Then why the hell are they asking if anyone is around?" Even though Leo's voice was muffled, Colin could hear the anger laced in his tone. Better tread carefully.

Colin's mouth betrayed him though, and he spoke out before he could stop himself.

"I'm on my break!" He yelled so loudly that it made the guy look up at Colin for the first time since he stepped inside. He looked annoyed, his bushy eyebrows furrowed and lips turned down in a frown.

Colin lifted his mug in acknowledgment but all he recieved was a larger frown- and maybe a sneer- as the guy continued talking into his phone.

"If you don't get your ass behind that desk, your pay cheque is going to go on a break too!" Leo's outbursts had become frequent those past months and it made Colin wonder if he was secretly running a reality TV show.

He had caught himself checking for hidden cameras. Occasionally, he threw up a middle finger for whoever was watching the tape to know that he knew.

"Calm down, Leo. Let's not make decisions we'll regret." Colin heaved himself out of the sofa and took one last gulp of the espresso, setting the mug down on the small glass table.

Rubbing his palms together, he approached the little group. "What can I do for you?"

"We have an appointment set for one o'clock," the woman said all at once. "Chu."

Colin flipped through the appointment point and traced his finger over the pages till it settled on 'Chu'. He had almost missed it, thanks to Austin's terrible handwriting.

"I know. I said I was sorry, baby. Don't do this to me," the boy whispered into his phone, grimacing.

Colin couldn't help the smirk that creeped up his face as he filled out their appointment slip. He hardly had any trouble with relationships- particularly because he never got in one. It was a foolproof strategy. And he was grateful for it.

"Not again, Peter," the woman said as he plucked the phone from his hand.

"Come on, my relationship is on the line." His voice was the edge to his irritated look as he tried to pry the phone back from the woman. "I'm almost done convincing her to get back with me."

Her, Colin thought. He had said her.

Colin had been sure Peter was gay as soon as he sighted the boy. The fact that his gaydar's readings had gone all the way up when their eyes met was a sure sigh. He was never wrong about stuff like that. Never.

"You cheated. She hates you. Now this is the part where you leave her alone. End of story," the woman said in quick succession, dropping her phone in her handbag. Her hand caressed the little girl's head, who then held onto her hand.

"Ugh, just stop with that already. It's not over."

Clearing his throat, Colin interrupted them and asked the bunch to follow him. He wished more than ever that Austin would return from his errand and handle the shoot.

Because Colin was pretty sure Peter had something against him when he felt and very distinct pain in his ankle.

The guy had kicked him!

"Don't think I didn't see you fucking smirk," Peter murmured.

Colin looked over his shoulder at the dark-haired boy who had his arms crossed now.

"There's a lot you're gonna see if you keep up that attitude."

The carnal grin that turned up Colin's lips had Peter shudder, making him unconsciously take a step back. From his expression, the brunet could take a wild guess the thoughts flitting through the dark-haired boy's head were around the lines of: What the fuck have I just gotten himself into?
