World Witches: Arctic Circle
It was December 7th, 2042.The memories of the third world war were still fresh in the memories of soldiers all across the world. After Berlin was nuked on May 5th and the war officially came to a close. The arctic nations of New Canteria, Russia, Scandinavia, Canada and Alaska formed a temporary alliance dedicated to help each other rebuild called the Arctic Pact, the precursor to the Pacific-Canterian International. Other nations did form pacts to help each other, such as the East European Restoration Union or the South Mediterranean Confederation but the Arctic Pact was the one to last the longest in the post war world. It was solely meant to be an economic alliance but that changed on a routine flight from Alaska to Russia where 3 planes meant to deliver a secret package was ambushed. But it wasn't the cargo that was important to this incident, nor the crew. It was the ones who ambushed them. They were black and red with a hexagonal style pattern on their aircraft that spewed red lasers. Within 3 days the mysterious enemy dubbed "Neuroi" from a famous anime in Japan, conquered the entire Arctic and held the lifeline of Scandinavia in their hands.However the Arctic Pact wouldn't give themselves up so easily.The Arctic Pact created an international task force known as the "North Hemisphere Defense Agency" with the United Kingdom, clearly reminiscent on New Canteria's Canterian International Defense Agency formed before the first world war and the Organization of Nations formed after WW2. They then set out to prevent the Neuroi from taking over Earth, and within 1 month, they succeeded. Obliterating the Neuroi nest that was above the North Pole with a low yield nuclear bomb. But what was found afterwards would shock many scientists till the 2060s. A live wormhole. Curious to what it was, the NHDA moved into the wormhole.
