In the small town of Sunnybrook, where life is simple and surrounded by lush green pastures, our heroine, May, is a veterinarian specializing in horse care. She has a deep love for animals and dreams of opening her own clinic, but for now, she continues working at the small family clinic her retired parents left behind in the town where she grew up.
One day, Jack, a man who once left Sunnybrook to study and work in the big city, returns home after the passing of his father. Jack was once close to May during their childhood, but now he is a successful man with a life vastly different from the one they once shared. Back in town to manage his family's farm, he brings with him a wounded racehorse in need of care-one that May must help rehabilitate.
As they work together to heal the horse, their bond begins to rekindle. Both must confront lingering emotions despite their vastly different lifestyles. At the same time, Jack faces the pressure of possibly leaving again for career opportunities in the city.
