When Vera was young she saved a witch from drowning. The witch looked into her eyes and read her future. She gave Vera the one thing she would want most in the world. And as Vera's life unfolds - broken the night he came and took her dream away - little would Vera know that she had saved the witch, but the witch had saved her also that day.
