There was not a moments hesitation to run before the creature descended and made his way down toward us. All of us took off towards the empty field to find some form of hiding from the Creeper.

What I decided to call the thing anyways...

During our great run Kimball and Izzy keep me near them, in fear of me being swept away into the night. Jake and Minxie coming up behind us, "KEEP RUNNING!" was all that he could say during his sprint; suddenly we all heard a soft whir in the air followed by a sickening crack along with a thud to the ground. Only taking a moments glance do I see that Jake now lying face down in the ground with one of the creepers bone stars in his skull.

I turn back around and continue to run like hell. Kimball has a death grip on my hand and pulls me along in the great run, I glance back up at the creature to see that he was gaining wind and speed...

Heading right for me and Kimball!

I tighten my grip on Kimball and put all my remaining strength into my legs to push both me and him forward. The creeper was gaining closer in distance by the sounds of his flapping wings sounding closer... Right above us closer.

My adrenaline caused a moments blindness when feeling my body suddenly pulled to the ground along with Kimball; he had tripped over a stone large enough to have both me and him lose our footing and collapse together. Looking back up to see the creeper glare, snarl, and hiss at Kimball before circling back around the field to find another kill for the night.

"You OK babe?" Kimball wheezed, with my heart still pounding in my chest hard enough for me to hear all I could do was nod. "Still have my sanity, brains and limbs if that's whatcha mean..." I joked and successfully got a chuckle from him in return, making a smile grow on my face. "How can you still joke and be funny during this?" he questioned, I had began to wonder the same, I shrugged in response Until I heard a guttural scream come from the tree ahead of us. There we see Rhonda and Izzy trying to get something out of Scotty that was causing him so much pain, me and Kimball immediately make our way towards the others to try and help in any way we can.

To my horror, I saw Scotty in great pain; a finely carved knife was pinning Scotty to the tree by his arm. Scotty kept howling in pain as the others kept at it with the knife, wiggling and pulling nonstop, all the while Scotty keeps moving and hitting at the others. "STOP IT YOUR HURTING HIM!" Rhonda would scream out, hitting at Izzy whom is struggling to pull the knife out of the tree's trunk. I look to Kimball and he was right on it to help pry the knife out, even though Scotty was an ass he still needed help and just being the nice people we were we would help.

"Hold him down!" Kimball exclaimed as me, Rhonda, and Izzy push our body against his to keep him still against the trunk while Kimball pulls harder. Scotty grunts and whimpers in pain, his other hand stretching towards Kimball, "STOP MOTHER FUCKER IT HURTS!" he cursed. "It will hurt allot worse if you don't HOLD STILL!" I spoke in panic, thinking of how much time we had left.

When Scotty finally stops screaming I can feel his breath hitch and his body grown still. He then begins to do something I never thought of him doing, he's crying. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry man!" he breathes and sobs. All of us are so concentrated on the task at hand, "I'm sorry Natalie, I didn't mean any of that stuff, I'm so sorry!" he's crying so hard that snot begins to bubble out of his nose. I can tell by his desperate apologies that time was nearing it's end.

For him and for us to help him.

Our time was out.

We were so engrossed into getting the knife out that we don't realize the creature had dove down. Once we finally have the knife free from the bark and Scotty's arm, within a blink of an eye, all of us are knocked to the ground by a sudden gust of air, Scotty is now in the creepers clutches and is whisked away into the dark night.

His screams echoing into the sky.

"SCOTTY!" Rhonda screams, she began running to him before me and Izzy stop her. I manage to catch up to her and hold her as she began to cry and weep for the loss of her love.

"I'm sorry Rhonda," I said to her while cradling her in my arms, her tears dripping down her cheeks onto my neck and shirt.

Panting.

Crying.

Screaming.

That was all that could be heard as the night went on. Before a deathly silence finally took hold of the atmosphere.

God. How much I hate the silence.
