Dylan's POV

"Bex, you're here?" I yell at the front door as I walk to it from my nap. I heard the door open, it has to be Rebecca.

"Yeah!" I hear her yell back. I walk to my kitchen and see her opening my fridge. I yawn from my tiredness taking a seat on one of the stools as I pass my hand through my messy hair. Rebecca closes the fridge with a soda in her hand. "Dyl, you have no food here," she frowns taking a seat across from me.

"I know," I say, "why don't you bring your own food when you come here?" I ask her. She is always complaining that I do not have food here, but she never buys food for me. I don't have food at my house for a specific reason, I am barely home and they are going to end up going bad.

"Aren't you grumpy?" She asks jokingly opening her soda can.

"I'm just so tired," I tell her honestly. Have you ever felt so tired, but not sleepy? It's like you don't need any sleep, but you need a vacation in the Caribbean or something.

"Oh, Sarah called me, she thought I was still in Gainsville, she wanted to meet up," she informs me. "I didn't know she was going to be in Florida," she adds taking a sip of her drink.

"Her and my dad came down here for my mom," I tell her. They have some time to be leaving their responsibilities just to come see my mother.

"She's getting out?" She asks.

"No, it's her birthday this weekend," I'm surprised my mother didn't try to get out every year for her birthday, her birthday is her favorite time of the year. When she used to be out, we would throw a party every time. "What movie do you want to watch?" I ask changing the subject. I get up walking to the living, Bex follows after me dropping her body on one of the sofas.

"I want something funny mix with some action," she says.

"Pick something," I toss her the remote so she can pick something on Netflix to watch. She scans through the list of movies indecisive. I put my head back thinking about life as I let her pick the movie that is supposed to be both funny and contain action.

"Hey, have you talked to Marie?" She asks out of nowhere. I open one eye looking at her.

"Why?"  I ask defensively.

"No reason just wanted to know."

"I called her yesterday after that awkward situation, but she didn't answer, so she can call when she feels like it."

"What awkward situation?" She asks.

"You don't want to know," I say remembering that awkward moment that happened yesterday with Marie-Anne and Tyler.

"You're not worried that she didn't answer?" She asks.

"No, I'm not. I already told her that I was done chasing and I meant it," I tell her. I can't keep chasing a girl that doesn't want to be caught.

"So, you're gonna pretend you're not worried when you are actually worried?" She asks doing crazy hand gestures with her hand.

"You know me so well," I chuckle.  "Bex, get the door," I say as the door bell rang. I don't know who would come here this late, somebody probably got the wrong address.

"You're so lazy," she gets up pulling my hair as she gets the door. I grab the remote putting on 'Get Hard'. I don't care what Rebecca says, this is the movie we're watching, she should have done picked a movie. I've watched this movie countless times and it never stops being funny.

"Dyl," Rebecca says from behind me. I turn around to see her with Marie-Anne. Rebecca smiles, Marie-Anne stands there awkwardly holding on to her hand bag as if holding on to her dear life. "We can watch the movie another time," Rebecca says grabbing her phone and keys from the coffee table. "Bye," she says leaving the room. A few seconds later, I hear the door open and close.

"Hi," I say waving my head awkwardly. "What are you doing here?"

"Sorry to just drop by, but I called you and you didn't answer," she says still standing there. I gesture for her to take a seat and she does so.

"Sorry, I think I dropped my phone somewhere," I say. That is not completely I lie, I had my phone when I came back from work, however, I don't know where it is right now. It's probably somewhere in my room. "Did you need me?" I ask.

"Not necessarily, I just needed to talk to you about something," I nod my head for her to continue, she doesn't say anything, she stares at me up and down deep in thought.

"I'm listening," I say just to let her know I am waiting for her to continue.

"You know how we... um... well, it's just... I-I," she starts shuttering with every word she says.

"I'm not telepathic, I can't read your mind," she sighs biting her bottom lip down. "Do I make you nervous?" I ask her getting close to her face. I fix my eyes in her light ones, smirking.

"Don't be so full of yourself," she says not breaking eye contact. She plants a smirk on her face chuckling lightly.

"You know I do," I joke.

"Whatever Dylan."

"Seriously, what did you want to tell me?" I ask setting all jokes aside.

"It's nothing."

"If you say so," I know she has something important to tell me, but I'm not going to force her to say anything. If she feels like she needs to tell me, she'll do so in her own time.

"Do you want kids?" She asks me breaking eye contact with me. No one's asked me that before.

"No," that's one thing I never wanted. I don't want no kids to raise so they can turn out like me or my siblings.

"Why?" She asks.

"I just don't," I prefer not to get into this conversation right now, "why?"

"Just curious," She says.

"Too curious for my taste," I get up from my seat walking to the kitchen, "you want something to drink?" I yell to her from the kitchen.

"No," I hear her say back quietly. I grab a glass pouring myself some vodka.
