There in the white hospital room, a frail yet beautiful person could be seen lying on the bed. Their limbs were very skinny, their face pale as a ghost. There the person lay on the bed with a calm expression on their face, the complete opposite of his surroundings. Doctors and nurses could be seen rushing in and out in a panic.

Sun Baohai swept his eyes at the panicking doctors and couldn't help but be confused. The moment he was hospitalized he knew he was a lost cause, so the day of his death arriving didn't surprise him much.

Being born as an omega was already considered unlucky, and being infertile to top that was like ending his life. When he was diagnosed with PCOS, his parents didn't hesitate to abandon him, and his friends also didn't hold back on shunning him. An omega who couldn't give birth, what was their purpose?  He was never optimistic about his parents or his friends so he wasn't too hurt.

He went to a small college and graduated without the help of his parents or relatives. He couldn't really have a successful career with his hormones so unbalanced, so it was surprising that he could become a preschool teacher at the most prestigious school in the capital. He worked there for three years before his illness got worst.

With his illness so bad, he had to be hospitalized. PCOS was not a terminal illness but it was deadly for omegas whose lives depend on their hormones. At first, it wasn't so bad, he would feel some faint pain but it was bearable. Most of the time he would just take some painkillers and the pain would be calmed.

But as time went by, his condition got worse, and at some point, he couldn't even eat. So he had to be fed by an IV. With the food not having the things his body needs to survive his organs also started failing and this is where the pain really began. The doctor has been fighting death with him for two years now and looking at his monitor, he could tell who won.

As he ignored the chaos, Sun Baohai slowly turned his head toward the monitor. His beautiful hazel eyes which had long lost their shine peered at the machine. At the end of his life, he had no family, no friends, only a machine. A machine that was the painful reminder of how lonely he truly was. He was really going to die here alone, on a rainy day, with nobody whatsoever.

"Wouldn't have been nice for it to be sunny today?" Sun Baohai said to the nurse in front of him.

"P-pardon?" The nurse was confused. This patient rarely spoke during the two years he was hospitalized. He only painted or read in his free time but he never spoke, so it was surprising.

"A sunny day would've been perfect," Sun Baohai said, his lips slowly forming an arch as he looked outside of the window. Tears appeared as though his suffering had finally accumulated into a downpour.

"Mr. Sun?" The nurse was surprised to see such devastation on the face of a smiling person.

"I'm tired," That's all Sun Baohai, said but these words seemed to have been so heavy to carry, that his shoulder immediately dropped after saying it. The weight of these words would only appear heavy to the people who had actually carried it most of their lives, unable to put it down and take a break.

It was the first time he said these words. It was the first time he's wept. He didn't cry when the harsh words of his mother reigned down on him. He didn't cry when it became routine for his father's anger to be taken out on him. He didn't even cry when the worse that could happen to an omega happened to him.

It's not that he didn't want to cry, but more like he couldn't cry. Crying would've meant he lost to war that even he himself didn't know he was fighting. Crying would've meant that he was proving his parent's words true. Crying would've to mean dying. So he eventually forgot how to cry. He eventually forgot how to be tired. He eventually forgot how to feel. He eventually forgot that he was human. He was human.

A loud beep resonated in the room, signifying the loss of life. The body that lay on the bed looked even frailer. The doctors finally put down their equipment and called the patient's family about his passing. Just like that Sun Baohai faded from the world.

................

Sun Baohai who was sure that he was dead suddenly woke up in a brick house with four children around him, looking at him with alarmed eyes. Before he even had the chance to ask the kids who they were and where he was, he felt like his head would split in half, and suddenly memories that weren't even his flooded his mind.

The original owner of this body was also named Sun Baohai. He came from Xingshui village and was the only child of the Sun family. His family was not very well off but they were considered above average in Xingshui village. Both his mom and dad worked and so the household income doubled. The parents had Sun Baohai in old age in thus loved him very much, so they spoiled him and gave him the best that they could.

Sun Baohai was also loving towards his parents and quite obedient. But unfortunately, his parent died during an attack in town and he was left alone. Since the Sun's parents were town workers, they barely farmed so they only had two mu of land. Sun Baohai was only fourteen when his parents died, and couldn't farm well so he had no choice but to rent the land, and relied on the money to survive, but the money itself was not enough to live on forever.

So when he was nineteen, the Zhang family approached him with a marriage proposal. The Zhang Family's first son, Zhang Jinhai, who was in the military recently divorced his wife and wanted to marry another one. Since Jinhai was absent there would be no ceremony and he would just move in. Many did not agree because of this and could only give up the three tael bride price, but to Sun Baohai this was crucial thus he agreed.

During the first week of his stay, he didn't need to take care of the kids and was well fed thus he began to trust the Zhang family. The Zhang family then began wooing him and giving him ideas about separation and how great it would be. Telling him that Jinhai had an old store that was worth a lot. Sun Baohai being naive, of course, fell for their scheme and brought it up to Mother Zhang himself.

Mother Zhang pretended to not want him to go making Sun Baohai feel like the store was really worth a lot. So after a few more discussions, Mother Zhang finally agreed to the separation. At first Sun Baohai was happy, forgetting about the kids he had to take care of.

So when they told him he had to move out with the kids he was sad and a little worried, but nonetheless cheered up thinking about the store. The very next day he went to the store that his sister-in-laws always bragged about only to see a dilapidated brick house. He felt betrayed and went to confront the Zhang family only to be met with ridicule. That's when he finally understood that he was tricked.

Unable to think, and anxious about his future, Sun Baohai decided to do the unthinkable and took away his life after experiencing a few days of hardships, and now he took over his body.  Sun Baohai was surprised but at the same time, he felt pity for the original host. Though in this era nineteen years olds are already as shrewd as they could be, the original host was just a sheltered kid who couldn't take the stress of practically being a widow and taking care of four kids. So instead of going through hardships, he decided to take his life. He finally lift up his eyes and saw three skinny little kids looking at him.

According to his memories, these were the kids of his 'husband'. There were four kids in total. Twin girls, a ger, and a baby boy. The twins were four, and the ger was two and a half while the little baby was only six months old.

Their mother, Li Wen recently abandoned them, and became the concubine of a small lord in town. So they became the Zhang family's responsibility, and the Zhang family hated that. So that's when they came up with the scheme. Not only would they get rid of the kids, but they would also have no responsibility to take care of Zhang Jinhai if he had an accident.

The kids had yet to be named and were only given nicknames.  The oldest twin was nicknamed Qiqi, the second one was nicknamed Xiao Xi, the little ger was nicknamed Xiao Wan, and the baby boy was named, Xiao Yu. All these names had good meanings and could be seen at a glance that they were picked meticulously. So it was impossible for them to be named by their cold-hearted mother, and looking back at his memories, it really wasn't the mother. When the second sister-in-law was rambling about Jinhai to the original host, she said that Jinhai loved his children very much and was the one who named all his children.  He looked at the children once more and was about to talk to them when he heard a voice ringing in his head.

{Hello, host! I am the Happy Family system and I am here to make sure your family is happy!}

"What are you talking about?" Surprised, Sun Baohai blurted out loud without thinking, startling the kids.

{Host, I am bound with you and thus I am in your subconscious, only you can hear me, so please refrain from talking out loud, as to not make people suspicious.'}

'Ok.' Sun Baohai responded in his mind. 'So what do I have to do?' Sun Baohai didn't want to waste any time lamenting about things he couldn't change. In this life, he planned to take every lemon life threw at him and make the sweetest lemonade with it.

{Just like my system name, I am here to insure you have a happy family! I will give you missions that you have to complete for rewards. Most of your rewards will be daily necessities and things that will be greatly useful to you. You will be given points, and with those points, you will be able to buy things in the shop.}

'Okay, so do I start now?' Sun Baohai asked.

{Yes you start now! Since you are new, you will be given a starter pack. This pack includes five jin of rice, five jin of flour, seven jin of cornmeal, three jin of eggs, twelve jin of mixed veggies, five jin of strawberries, five jin of persimmons, two jin of peanuts, four ounces of milk, six jin of oil, twenty-five li of cloth, five balls of yarn, five packets of mixed seeds, and fifteen points. May you have a happy family!}

'Thank you.'

He really did need all of these as the house was practically empty. The house they had now was liveable. Since soldiers get paid a decent amount, this house is a brick one. It had three rooms, and outside there was a small kitchen that was connected to the house through a door, so he had no need to worry about that.

For necessities on hand, he had almost none. When the family split they convince the original owner to take nothing except for the run-down shop in town. So currently he only had one silver. There were only two jin of rice in the house, half a cup of lard, and half a jin of flour, which they could only survive on for about two weeks. But these additional supplies could buy him to think of a way to make money.
