The next morning he woke up early and cooked breakfast. Today he made rice congee with a side of steamed eggs. Though the baby ended up with most of the steamed egg the kids also enjoyed it. After wiping them down, and styling their hair it was time to dress them up. The kids were especially excited since Sun Baohai just made new jumpers for them. After dressing up, the kids looked clean and neat. Sun Baohai couldn't help but admire the kids, and how cute they were.

Even if they were still critically underweight, a few weeks of nourishment had been proven beneficial and one can now see the good features of the kids. Seeing how cute the kids were, he had to say he now had high hopes for their father. Everyone he met in this village kept on talking about how the kids looked so much like their father, and the kids were pretty good-looking looking so, he at least expected a decent-looking man.

After snapping out of his delusions, he packed some stuff for the kids and took them to Aunt Lin's house before going back to his house again and getting the peach jam. After getting what he would need for today, he went to the village's entrance and boarded the bull cart. He decided to come earlier today so he could arrange the peach jam on the shelves, so there weren't a lot of people when he came.

After setting up everything more people started coming and it really was more than yesterday. Sun Bohai was so overwhelmed that he swore he would never be stingy again. He will definitely hire a helper next time. There were so many customers, that he finished at around twelve, and could go back home early. But before he went to get the kids he went to the Zhang and to confront them about the incident.

Today he was wearing a simple light green and white hanfu, and his hair was braided into one large braid. As he walked to the Zhang's house he attracted a lot of eyes. Some mothers who were looking couldn't help but regret not snatching such a fine young ger for their son before the Zhang family had the chance to scheme against him. Who in the village didn't know just how well this young ger treated Zhang Jinhai's kids? They got new clothes and had good food to eat. Their faces were never dirty, and they always smelt good. Even though the kids were still skinny, when they were playing with the village kids, they looked like noble children. Who wouldn't want a wife who could take care of children, cook, and sew like this ger?

Sun Baohai could of course feel their gazes but he was used to it by now. When he first crossed over he was very uncomfortable with all the stares but it happened so much that he was just eventually used to it. As he was thinking about what to cook for lunch for the kids he arrived at the Zhang's house.

"Is anybody home? It's Jinhai's wife, I came here to talk!" Sun Baohai said as he stood at the entrance. There were no gates so he could not knock. Most people would just go in, but he just felt uncomfortable doing so.

At this time the Zhang family was having lunch. Typical families in the village would only eat twice a day but the Zhang family made enough for them to eat thrice a day so they weren't really stingy with food. Today all of the Zhang family members were home to celebrate a successful business deal the third son Zhang Enlai had made when they heard Sun Baohai calling them from outside.

"Why is he here?" Li Ya said with a frown.

"We are in the room with you and you actually expect an answer?" Wan Meirong asked in disbelief.

"Now is not the time to fight. Third daughter-in-law go bring him in." Old Man Zhang ordered.

"Yes father," Lin Meimei obeyed and went to guide Sun Baohai in. When he walked in except for Old Mamdam Zhang, Li Ya, and Wan Meirong the rest of the family was shocked to see Sun Baohai. Not only did he get prettier but his whole demeanor changed. He no longer gave a naive and dumb demeanor but more of a calm and collected one instead.

"Hello, and I am sorry for interrupting but I have something to talk to you guys about," Sun Baohai said politely. Though he seemed too polite, this was exactly what one should do when confronting somebody. Always look and come and speak politely, especially when going against shameless people like the Zhang family.

"So you do know you're interrupting us?" A decent-looking girl who had a pink hanfu on and a silver hairpin asked sarcastically. Though Sun Baohai had never seen her, and the original body owner had no memories of her, he could guess that this was Zhang Ai, the only daughter of Old Madam Zhang.

"Ai'er" Zhang Enlai warned her with a look. Seeing how quickly Zhang Enlai reacted, he could see why he was the smartest of the family.

"What do you need to talk about?" Old Madam Zhang asked.

"About Zhang Fu," Sun Baohai responded.

"What about my son?" Li Ya asked with a frown as she looked at Sun Baohai.

"He had been approaching my children and making some derogatory remarks, and I did not like seeing my children lowering their heads because of some careless adult who had been speaking around a six-year-old. Please instill manners in your child; I can assure you that it will benefit him greatly in life." From the moment he walked in here, he had been looked down upon, as if he was someone lowly compared to them. Since they thought they were higher and more educated than them he would speak in a sophisticated way for them to understand.

Hearing the sophisticated yet sharp words coming from Sun Baohai's mouth shocked the family members. The entire family except for Old Madam Zhang and Old Man Zhang were educated. Even the unfavored third son was sent to school. So when they heard how Sun Baohai spoke to them they were shocked. He was speaking like the noble officials, who would cuss people out with no cuss words.

"You do not need to speak so politely, but did my son really do these things?" Li Ya responded with a forced smile. It looked like she had been knocked off her high horse.

"Yes, he did. I came home from town and saw them looking sad and when I asked, they told me about the remarks your son made with tears in their eyes. I know that these words couldn't be thought of by a child, so it must be an adult's doing. I want to tell you this today. Since you gave up the right to the kids, they are now my kids and I am their mom. In our separation letter, we will only come to see you on holidays, birthdays, funerals, weddings, etc... So I do not understand why your son keeps on coming and disturbing my children, but it would be gladly appreciated if his parents told him to stop because next time I won't let him off easily." Sun Baohai explained his tone calmly.

"Do you need to be so rude just because you're separated?! Zhang Fu is still just a child!" Zhang Dai reprimanded. He was the fourth child of Old Madam Zhang replied. He was the same age as Sun Baohai and was the most gifted in this family when it came to academics.

"But you are not. So how about learning to control your mouth when said child is around you." Sun Baohai rebutted, leaving Zhang Dai speechless. The rest of the family members knew that they really did talk a little too much around the children, so they didn't have anything to respond with. Zhang Enlai who was always trying to get rid of his villager roots, hated this kind of behavior and shot his wife a glare.

"I apologize on behalf of my child," Li Ya apologized after getting her husband's glare.

"I accept your apology, but I want Zhang Fu to go apologize to my kids today. He was the one who was rude to my kids." Sun Baohai requested firmly.

"Mom! I don't-" Zhang Fu immediately whined.

"Zhang Fu!" Zhang Enlai called out sternly, silencing the whining. "Is this really necessary?" He continued as he turned around and looked at Sun Baohai.

"To me, no, but to my kids, yes. Your son is six he needs to start being held accountable for his actions." Sun Baohai responded.

"I don't see the big deal, isn't it just a squabble between kids?" Old Madam Zhang interfered. She was unwilling to let her precious grandson apologize to those kids.

"Mother," Zhang Enlai called out with a sigh, silencing the old woman, "I understand. My son will go and apologize before dinner." Zhang Enlai responded.

"Thank you, I am going to take my leave now."  Sun Baohai said as he turned around to go.

"Jinhai's wife, you don't want to stay for lunch? You can bring some for the kids too." Zhang Kai offered before Sun Baohai could get to the entrance, making the entire Zhang family frown. Why did he invite him to come to eat? Just because they had enough to eat didn't mean they wanted to share with others.

"No thank you, I have to go pick up the kids, and I am going to make lunch so no need to worry," Sun Baohai assured before walking out of the Zhang's house.
