"Hey Y/N we got some trouble!" Brendon slams the door open. Y/N wakes up, and groans as she jumps out of the bed slipping her shoes on. "Okay Absol, Combuksen help us out!" Y/N sends her two Pokémon out. They both run behind her as she see's eight Team Magma grunts who were battling against Brendon. "Absol night slash, Combusken fire spin!" Y/N yells, the two Pokémon don't hesitant to release their powerful attacks on the opposing Pokémon.

"Hmph that girl again" One of the grunts huffs. "Toxicroak poison jab on that girl" the grunt commands Toxicroak. "Marshtomp mud shot on Toxicroak" Brendon yells and Marshtomp hits Toxicroak knocking it to the floor. Y/N nods at Brendon thankful that Marhstomp stopped the Toxicroak.

"Combusken fire spin on Toxicroak!" Y/N shouts, the Toxicroak is engulfed in flames. Toxicroak faints as it was out of energy. "Y/N help Steven" Brendon shouts, she nods. "Combusken stay and help Brendon. Absol come with me" Y/N tells her Combusken, and she and Absol run to Steven's recovery room. She locks the door behind them. Steven was still asleep on the bed.

"We have to wake him up" Y/N sighed, she walks over to his bedside and shakes him softly. Steven slowly starts waking up, his eyes focusing on the girl in front of him. "W-What's happening?" Steven asks as he sits up on his own. "Stone are you strong enough to run?" Y/N asks him. "I think I can. Is Team Magma here?" Steven grabs his lavender vest and fixing his tie. "Yes. Hurry up Stone we don't have much time" Y/N scoffs at Steven who was fixing his belt. Steven sighs and checks around the room for any way to escape as Y/N takes watch at the door.

She see's as two grunts come running right to the door. "Fuck, you see anything Stone?" Y/N asks him, Absol growls at the two grunts. "Absol be ready" Y/N tells it.

"Ah ha!" Steven exclaims, he found a vent that was large enough to crawl through. "There's a vent" Steven tells her, Y/N curses under her breath. The grunts were to close for them to escape without being noticed. "Stone you go, Absol and I will take care of the grunts" Y/N tells him. Steven nods and starts breaking open the vent. "Th-Thank you Y/N" Steven says before breaking the vent open. "It's no problem Stone, just run" Y/N tells him, Steven crawls through the vent.

"Absol shadow ball!" 

~Steven Stone~

'Run, just run' Steven's mind is racing as he runs out of Mauville. He hides in the bushes huffing trying to catch his breath. "How the hell am I going to get back to Rustboro?" Steven huffs, he checks his pockets for anything he could use. "Nothing" Steven looks around for anyone who could help, Steven's face lights up realizing that a man was on his Holo Caster. "Excuse me sir!"

The man looks over at the champion shocked he asks what was happening. Steven didn't have time to explain anything other than he needs to call someone to pick him up to take him back to Rustboro city. The man let Steven use his holo caster.

"Father? I need someone to pick me up to get back to Rustboro, Team Magma, again. I'm at route 117" Steven says to his father before he had a chance to even say hello to his son. "I see, we'll pick you up as soon as possible, Steven be careful" His father tells him, concerned laced in his voice. Steven smiles softly at his fathers concern. "Don't worry, I'll be careful, dad" Steven tells his father before hanging up the call. "Thank you sir" Steven bows his head giving the man his holo caster back.

Steven walks away from the man, trying to find a place to hide whilst his father comes to pick him up. "We'll meet again Y/N" Steven murmurs as he disappears into the forest.

~Y/N~

"Absol great job bud" Y/N says as she pets it's head. "Now what are you planning to do with the champion" Y/N asks the grunt that was being completely still against the wall. " I-It's our boss, Maxie. Gah shit I've said to much" He blurts out in fear of Absol. "Fuck- Team Magma" Y/N curses under her breath. "Tell us more, or you'll regret it" Y/N snaps at him, Absol standing by her side. The grunt curses, but stills suddenly. A devilish grin appears on his smug face. 

"Hmph so a spoiled kid is trying to take us, Team Magma down" Y/N's taken back, just a few moments ago he was trembling from fear. "We've got a tracker on Stone, leader Maxie will get his hands on him soon. We know he's going back to his daddy in Rustboro, that's what he always does when he runs into us" He tells her. "Shit" Y/N says out loud, she knows that she needs to find Steven Stone, or Team Magma will find him soon. Without warning the man jumps her, pinning her to the ground. "Absol!" Y/N shouts, Absol scratches the grunt and mauls him off of Y/N. "Absol Night Slash!" Y/N shouts Absol hits the man sending him into the wall. Knocking him unconscious.

"Absol we need to find Stone" Y/N says, and starts sprinting out of the room. She catches Brendan's attention, and explains what happened. They both sprint out of Mauville onto route 117 the closest route exit. "Split up" Y/N tells Brendan, and he nods running off into the forest to find him while Y/N searches the bushes. As Y/N searches she see's a man with a holocaster, Steven could have used it. "Excuse me sir? Has a man by any chance borrowed your holocaster?" Y/N asks him, he looks confused as to why she was asking him a bizarre question. "Why yes, a silver hair bloke borrowed it than ran off to the west side of the forest" He tells her. "Thank you sir" Y/N says and runs to the forest where the man said Steven ran to. 

"Shit, Stone where did you go?" Y/N mutters as she and Absol run through the forest. 

Y/N doesn't know what they would do of they managed to capture Steven, what does that man know that's so important to Team Magma. "Absol!" Her partner barks to alert her. Y/N stops to look around. 

"Stone!" Y/N shouts, she see's the silver haired champion off in the distance. 

~Steven Stone~

"Stone!" He heard a shout in the distance, such a familiar voice, 'Y/n?'

She runs to him, trying to catch her breathe. "Y/N what are you doing here?" Steven asks her. Y/N looks around hurried and panicked. "Y/N tell me what's happening" Steven says to her. "Team Magma has a tracking device on you, they already know you're going to Rustboro" Y/N tells him, Steven is shell shocked. He doesn't know what to say. He checks his suit jacket, a small button that wasn't there before was stuck to it. "Leave it here, we have to get out of here" Y/N tells him. Steven doesn't, he stands still almost like a statue. "Stone. We have to hurry" Y/N says again. 

"I can't, they must know that my father is coming in a helicopter, I can't let him get hurt or taken advantage of" Steven tells her, as much of a rocky relationship him and his father have, Steven cares about him. He could never let anything happen to his own father. 

"Can you call off the helicopter, I have a holo caster you can use" Y/N tells him. "They won't have any signal up there" Steven said, with a look of regret.

'If I had just kept running, I shouldn't have called him. I should have dealt with this on my own.'

"Give me the tracker, I'll deal with it. You stay here" Y/N speaks up, Absol next to her ready to run. "No, I'm the champion, it's my job to protect the Hoenn region and it's people. There's no way I'm risking you getting hurt" Steven protests, Y/N shakes her head. "Stone, I can handle myself, I've dealt with worse than a few grunts" Y/N laughs softly, by Arceus she's been through much worse than what those grunts can do.  "Just trust me on this one Stone, I'll be fine" She tells him. Steven sighs and reluctantly gives the tracker to her along with a piece of paper with his holo caster number on it. "Be careful, please call and tell me how things go" Steven tells her, Y/N nods.  

Steven watches as Y/N and her Absol run off with the tracker. He still has this irking feeling of disappointment and self hatred of not being able to handle this situation on his own, he couldn't even imagine the amount of guilt he would have if Y/N did get hurt or even killed. 

~Y/N~

"The grunts should show up soon Absol, be on the look out" Y/N talks to her partner softly. She's not worried, nor is Absol. They completely trust each other. Y/N's eyes dart to her right when she hears a twig break. "They're here" Y/N mumbles. She releases Combusken to help battle them. 

"You can come out, I know you're here. You'll have to get past me before you try to get Stone" Y/N says out loud. A deep chuckle could be heard from behind her. "What a smart little girl we have, took the tracker from the champ" Y/N looks behind her to see five grunts all with their mightyena next to them. "You'll need to kill me before I give any information on Stone" Y/N tells them with a laugh. "Let's not put this off any longer. Absol Stone Edge, Combusken Fire Spin-" Y/N tells her partners. "Well boys lets not have any mercy"

They barely stood a chance really. At the end of the battle, Y/N and her Pokémon stood victorious. 

"Now tell your leader that he has to deal with me from now on" Y/N snaps at the grunts. "Hmph we'll show her next time, boys retreat" one of them says and they run off to wherever their base is. Y/N lays down on the grass. Combusken and Absol resting in their Pokéball's. 

"Y/N! There you are! Where's Steven?" Brendan comes running up to her. "Stone, he's on his way to really any where but Rustboro, Absol, Combusken and I finished up the grunts" Y/N tells him. She sits up on the grass, she knows she has to call Stone to tell him she was fine, but for now she wanted to rest. 

"Lets go back to Mauville, back to the Pokémon center to rest for the night" Brendan tells her, and she only nods in response. "You can go ahead without me, I'll catch up. I just need to do something really quick" Y/N tells him, Brendan agrees and starts his way back to the Mauville Pokémon center. Y/N takes her Holo Caster and the slip that had Steven's Stone's number on it and dialed his number. 

"Hello this is Steven Stone speaking" 

"Hey Stone, it's me"
