The crowd inside of the Mayhew Emporium has backed up as far as the can. Everyone has shoved themselves tightly together as they avoid the night creatures that have taken over the front of the emporium. Reya finds herself pressed against the stage as she struggles to keep an eye on Starvos. She is able to see between some people the night creatures reaching for him.

"Starvos," she shouts, only to have a bigger man shoved against her.

Nearby, Anna Bone Vichie is pushed against her camera man who nearly falls down, against the stage.

"What are you doing?" she snaps at him, trying to push other people away, "we have to keep rolling, no matter what. Keep filming everything." She let's out a scream as the pushing continues, causing her to fall down, along with a few other people beside of her.

At the front of the crowd, Starvos isn't quite sure what to do. He begins to fill that feeling in his arms, but he's inside and doesn't know what to do. He has no where to go and is taken aback when a night creature crawls onto the table with him, and grabs his right leg. It let's a moan, as other try to climb on after it. Starvos quickly tries to wrestle his leg away from it, but it brings his leg up to his open mouth.

"No," Starvos calls out and twists, kicking the night creature in the head. It disintegrates immediately upon contact as Starvos falls to the floor.

-----

Merrick and Sage rush to their black van, where Gia already waits, arm folded in one of the back seats. Sage carries a duffel bag and a small, handheld device in one hand.

"They've stopped showing Anna Bone Vichie's footage until they can confirm she is alright," Sage announces as he and Merrick enter the van.

"Good," Merrick replies, starting the vehicle as Sage closes his door.

"I never thought I'd have a real reason to use this," Sage digs in the bag, the turns to Gia, "are sure don't want any gear."

"I don't need it," she scoffs.

"Just checking," Sage continues to go through it, "I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you."

"See if we can get a homing signal on them," Merrick orders him, we'll need to know exactly where they're at."

"If they're there," Sage adds.

"If?" Gia questions him, cynically.

"I know that's where they are," Merrick speeds the van into the night.

-----

Starvos quickly springs back to his feet in a fight pose. The area he landed in is void of people who are too scared to be up front, but he surrounded but he night creatures. His arms still have that feeling in them as they begin to glow with the bright yellow glow. He knows he could hurt too many innocent people if he sends the night creatures careening into them or the building. He decides it's out of the question and realizes he's going to have to somehow fight them off. He holds his stance as the close in on him and he wishes he had some kind of staff to fight them with. As he looks down to his hands the yellow rays begins pouring out, but in the shape of the staff he was thinking about.

"I don't know how this happened," he thinks, "but I'll take it." He swings it a lunging night creature, striking it, and immediately disintegrating it. "Alright," Starvos says, and strikes another, and it too disintegrates upon contact. He hits another one, then another one and one that is on the roulette wheel he fell from. He continues to fight off the night creatures that surround him.

"Did you know this was going to happen?" Winston berates Dr. Mayhew, he keeps looking straight ahead. He watches as Starvos has began to fight off the night creatures and doesn't answer Winston. "Dr. Mayhew, was this your plan all along?" Winston asks in much calmer tone, "to lure everyone out and have this happen? You promised everyone a night of fun and relaxation without the fear of being in danger." Dr. Mayhew still does not answer him. Winston looks out and sees Starvos is the only person fighting. "It's him" Winston asks, "this was all about him, wasn't it?"

"Would you shut up, you incessant, boy?" Dr. Mayhew barks at him, then regains his posture. "I believe I've seen enough," Dr. Mayhew announces, "I am ready to go."

"Go?" Winston questions him, "where are you going to go? How can we get out of the this? Night creatures have the doorway blocked. There's no way out."

"That's where you're wrong," Dr. Mayhew confidentially tells him. A panel on the side wall on the stage slides open and two droids roll out. Dr. Mayhew, his bodyguard and Winston all three quickly scanned.

"Identified," the droid says, "eximus humanus, Doctor Brodrick Mayhew III, eximus humanus Vandross McCoy, eximus humanus Winston Phillip."

"Droid," Dr. Mayhew talks to the first one, "we are ready to depart and I want you to lead the way." The droid begins to leave them out.

Below the stage, Reya has seen what is going on and crawls on stage. Reya quickly glances over to see Starvos fending for himself.

"Starvos, I know you can do this," Reya thinks to herself.

"Droid," Dr. Mayhew tells the second one, "I don't want anyone in this stage."

"What we're leaving?" Winston asks.

"I suggest you come along, Winston," Dr. Mayhen begins to follow the droid, followed by his bodyguard, "or you can stay, if you wish."

"Wait for me," Wisnton follows him. The sliding panel begins to close and Reya silently follows and slides under before it shuts.

-----

Merrick's black van screeches on it's brakes as it whips around taking out several of the night creatures outside of the emporium. The immediately disintegrate upon contact. The door slides open, with Sage and Gia quickly hoping out. Gia uses her telekinetic ability to take out a few night creatures near them. Merrick slides over the top of the vehicle, wearing his long, brown trench coat.

"It's like a buffet for night creatures in there," Sage comments.

"We have a lot of work to do," Merrick tells them, "Gia, we need a path to get in that doorway."

"I'm on it," she agrees, "cover me." Gia takes a wide leg stance and spreads her arms. She concentrates on the door way, crowded with night creatures, focusing every bit of her attention on them. They slowly begin to rise in the air as she raises her hands, before she thrusts them up in the air. Most of the night creatures disintegrate colliding into each other. "I'll cover the outside," she tells them.

"Thanks," Sage says with a quick smile, before he in Merrick burst inside.

Merrick and Sage quickly survey the carnage inside, and then spot Starvos, fighting off the night creature with staff he created.

"He's okay," Sage smiles with approval.

"I knew could hold his own," Merrick replies, "you cover up here, I've got this side and the stage." Both men draw silver and blue metallic looking guns. Sage immediately begins firing on the night creatures, destroying them upon contact. Merrick begins to run and leaps onto the wall, running along the side of it, over the crowd of frightened people. He leaps from the wall onto the stage and begins shooting the night creatures with precision.

Starvos uses his self-made staff for leverage as he flips over it and strikes one of the many night creatures lunging after him. It disintegrates. Immediately he thrusts the staff forward, striking another night creature, and then backwards, hitting another one, to which they both disappear. He continues to take out a few more with it.

Sage has made his way near Starvos, shooting his gun and striking the night creatures as the people continue to try to shuffle back.

"You're not bad with that thing," he call out to Starvos.

"Thanks," Starvos calls back, working his way over to him, "I'm glad you guys showed up when you did. What are you wearing?"

"I'll explain later," Sage answers firing his gun and bringing out another, "we have to get this under control. Are you good with that side?"

"I'm fine," Starvos strikes yet another night creature.

"I'll cover the front, you help the people," Sage tells him and begins firing with both guns simultaneously. Starvos leaps back over to what was the roulette table, striking more night creatures while Sage fires at the ones near the entrance.

-----

A droid leads Dr. Mayhew and his group down a dark alleyway, as they swiftly come upon the end. Winston is nervous and looking about for night creatures. A black limousine screeches it's breaks as it comes to a stop at the end of the alleyway. Reya follows, slowly behind. Mayhew's bodyguard opens the door and stands watch as Dr. Mayhew climbs in. A group of night creatures stumble toward the back of the limo, where the droid has positioned itself.

"Are we really going to leave them like that?" Winston questions looking back.

"Get in, boy" Dr. Mayhew calls out. As he climbs in, Winston catches Reya emerging from the dark ally out of the corner of his eye.

"It's that girl," he says to himself, only to be pulled in by Dr. Mayhew. The bodyguard climbs in via the passenger door in the front. "What about her?" Winston asks. Dr. Mayhew leans forward and peers out Reya, telling her he has seen her and stopping her in her tracks. She gives a small gasp.

"Leave her," Dr. Mayhew callously smiles.

"But-" Winston begins only to be cut off.

"Droid, you know what to do," Dr. Mayhew pulls the door shut and the limousine speeds off, just as the night creatures reach the alleyway.

"No, wait," Reya calls out, also reaching the end of the alleyway. The red light from the droid's scanner runs down her.

"Unidentified," the droid says, "must exterminate."

-----

"Look, that's Merrick Hargrave, from the Bioteck institute," Anna Bone Vichi points to her camera man, "get off of me." She pushes someone away for from her, as the space has began to open up. I want you to roll on him and that other kid with him," she orders the camera man, "I'll get a story out of this yet." The camera begins to record, pointed at Merrick as he continues to flawlessly fire his weapon. Suddenly, as if alerted by unknown sense he fires at the camera, destroying it in the camera man's hand.

"What are you doing?" Anna Bone Vichi shouts up at Merrick.

"Sorry," Merrick apologizes, "we don't allow what we do at my institute to be filmed. Anna Bone Vichi becomes furious as the crowd continues to push against her to stay back from the night creatures.

"We have another camera in the van, come on" she shouts at the camera man. She begins to push her way to the closest side. "get- ugh, these stupid people," she squeezes through, "don't they know I have a job to- ahh-" She loses her balance and with a squeal falls to the floor, near the wall of a now open space. "My shoe," she calls out as her high heel remains in the crowd. She tries to reach for it but is stopped by the all too familiar moan of a night creature. She looks up and let's a scream as the creature grabs for her, pulling her hand over her eyes. The creature disintegrates as Starvos strikes it with his staff. "It's you," Anna Bone Vichi looks up, "the fallen star."

Sage continues to fire with both of his weapons at the entrance, slowly taking a few steps back. He is unaware of a night creature stumbling behind him. He lunges for him, only to be shot by Merrick. Sage takes a quick look back.

"I got your back," Merrick calls out, "always. Sage smiles and continues shooting the night creatures.

-----

"Let me go," Reya calls out as she finds herself hoisted up into the air by the tube-like extension of the droid. She beats her fists against it to no avail.

"Must exterminate," the droid repeats.

"You can't identify me because you don't know who I am," she struggles to free her self as the group of night creatures gather under her, "and I promise that you will not like me once you find out." A green glow begins to take over her eyes until they are fully emerged in the green light. A high pitch ring is heard only for a microsecond as a small, round green beam shoots out from her hand and slices the tube that is coiled around her. She falls to the ground, landing on her feet, amongst the night creatures. Her entire body begins to glow green. "

"Engaging missile launcher," the droid says, and shoots a missile from it's chest cavity.

"Oh yeah," Reya springs up into the air and maintains herself afloat as she glows. "Ha," she calls out, shooting another small, round ray at the missile. It explodes.

At the front of the building, Gia turns her attention to the direction of the explosion.

-----

Inside, Starvos stops for a moment as Sage nears him.

"Did you hear that?" Starvos asks him.

"It sounded like something blew up," Sage fires his weapons.

"No, not that," Starvos tries to listen for it again.

"May I have everyone's attention, please," Merrick shouts, "all of you need to get out and go home. Do not stop for anything, I repeat, now is the time. Get out and go home!" We will cover you."

"You ready to finish this up?" Sage asks Starvos.

"I'm already tired of these things," Starvos replies.

"This is life," Sage grins, "this going to be fun.

The crowd begins to flee, not only out of the one doorway but through the broken windows as Sage and Starvos take out the last remaining night creatures.

-----

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Reya calls out as she blasts the group of night creatures. With each shot, the high pitch ringing is heard, but only for a microsecond. She is only a couple feet off the ground when she blasts the last one, disintegrating it where it stands.

Gia turns the corner and is in shock to see Reya in the air and her body glowing green.

"You are like him," Gila says.

"Gia," Reya gasps and floats to the ground. The green glow in glow in her eyes and body go away.

"I knew the droid couldn't identify you, but I didn't imagine there'd be two of you," she continues, standing in place, "Merrick will-"

"Gia, please, you can't tell anyone, especially not Starvos," Reya pleads.

Inside, Merrick approaches Sage and Starvos who's staff now vanishes.

"We did what we could," he tells them, "and saved most of them." A night creature wanders toward them.

"I've got this," Starvos tells him, bending down and touching his leg, from the calf and down. It begins to glow yellow. He runs and kicks the night creature, disintegrating it.

"Very awesome," Sage compliments him as returns to them and back to normal.

"You have yet to cease to amaze me, Starvos," Merrick tells him.

"Listen, I didn't know-" Starvos begins.

"There's time for that, later," Merrick interrupts him, "I need to know who you met here tonight?"

"Just that Winston guy," Starvos answers him.

"Winston?" Sage asks, "do you know where he is now?"

-----

In a dark and undisclosed location, Winston is lead in a dark hallway.

"Why does it have to be so dark?" he asks.

"You'll see," Dr. Mayhew leads him to a door with a glimmer of light coming out from it. "Tonight was about so much more than my fallen star," he tells Winston, "see for yourself. Winston peers into the dark window only to jump back when night creature, having been captured slams across the door. "When morning comes, without the light, this one will still be here," Dr. Mayhew callously grins.
