Chapter Nine
" Don't eat the chocolates "

My first day was pretty good, I reached nearly on time, all thanks to the God's Angel, Sahil. The colleges were also friendly to work with. My team's head was also not like the typical boss which is good. And at the end I liked working here.

The boss Sahil was speaking about, Abhinav Sir, was actually the CEO of this company. I did meet him when I came for the interview but after that I had to assign to my team leader, Aniket Sir, he would go and speak further with Abhinav Sir.

I glanced at my wristwatch just to find that it was already 7. I picked up my scooty from his restaurant's parking lot and on my way I bought a good large chocolate for him. I couldn't think of anything else to give him.

And I remember in the morning, he asked the person to give it to repair too and ofcourse he would not accept money, so this is my way. I don't like accepting anyone's money, I take it in a form of gift but just casually I won't. No matter how rich a person is, he earned it with hardwork too.

Amar Bhai is also arriving today. Although he declined when I asked him if I should pick him up from the Airport. He didn't want me to get in any trouble. He is directly arriving where I am staying which is Kirti's cousin's house, although no one is at home for a few days but they let us stay till we find an apartment for ourselves.

I also have this one question, why is everyone so sure that I will fall in any sort of trouble?

Even Kirti said that when I was leaving the house, in the morning. These people have kaali zaban. I fall in trouble because they say it. Huh.

Look how easily I blamed them. Smart Mafia Queen Ananya.

I went towards the reception of the restaurant and asked them I wanted to meet Sahil. The man at the reception asked me somethings for formality and then showed me the way to his office. I thanked him and made my way.

While searching for the office, the fragrance of tasty food hit my nostrils and that made me more hungry then I ever was. In my way, I bumped with someone and the chocolate fell from my hand. The guy muttered an apology and picked it up for me. Just when he looked up and glanced at my face, he said.

" Wait, I have seen you before "

Us bro us.

Even I felt that I have seen him somewhere. My mind just couldn't recollect where. I scanned his face for a few more seconds.

" You're Anya? "  He asked me and I shook my head.

" Oh right. That's not you. " He said while his brows still confused. The guy was trying so hard to remember who I am. And just then he almost shouted " You're Ananya? Right, Right, Right, Right, Right. We met four years ago while I was clicking your pictures- not yours, but my brother's. You told him the whole chamatkar lie, remember? "

The more I try to forget that, the more people bring it up. And yeah I do remember now, he was Sahil's brother, I still can't recollect his name though.

" Yeah Right. I remember now. You're Sahil's brother, right?  "

" Yeah. Vivian Khurana, by the way. " He said and forwarded his hand for a handshake.

" Ananya Rajput " I said and shook hands with him.

" How are you here? " He asked me.

I took a short glance at my watch. I need to leave soon from here. My brother is going to arrive anytime. Though, Kirti was at the house already but they don't know each other yet. They just knows the names so ofcourse it will be awkward for both of them.

" I happened to meet your brother this morning and I wanted to thank him for what he did this morning. I was going at his office only, but I bump into you and I'm running late so, here. Give this to your brother and tell him that I'm very thankful for what he did "  I said and handed him the chocolate.

" That is my favourite " he said eyeing the chocolate.

" But you're supposed to give it to your brother. Then if he wants then you can have it or like share it or anything. " I gave him the free advice.

" Yeah obviously. I will not eat the chocolate you bought for him" He said and smiled teasingly.

" No, it's not what you're thinking. " I tried to justify.

Giving a chocolate is also a crime now. I'm not repeating it.

" Yeah, how about you give it to him? He'll love it " he said and smile was not replaced by a smirk.

" I already told you, I'm running out of time. Or else I was going to. Please give it to him "  I said pouted.

" Okay then. I guess his stars aren't shining today " he said and I got confused. I find metaphors hard to understand.

" Thankyou so much. It was lovely meeting you. " I said with a smile.

" You too. Hope we will meet in future with more time " he said and I chuckled while nodding.

" Definitely " I said and turned back to leave. After a few steps, I turned back again and called out his name. " Vivian "

He turned back within a second and I said " Give the chocolate to your brother. Do not eat it,Vivian "

He made a face and nodded. After a few seconds, I felt my name being called out. I turned and heard Vivian say.

" I'll give your chocolate to my brother. I'll not eat it, Ananya"  I chuckled and nodded the same way he did.

I made way towards my scooty and started driving it towards the house we were staying at. It would not take less than an hour to reach there and Mumbai's traffic is something else. I don't know at which hour I'm going to reach.

After a hour and half of driving, I finally reached the house and rang the doorbell. Kirti opened the door and I found my brother already sitting inside. He stood up as soon as he saw me and I ran to hug him.
I'm seeing him after some good 8 years. He has grown so much meanwhile. The one who left was a boy the one who returned is now a man.

After a few minutes, I broke apart and swallowed. I was on the verge of crying and so was he.

" I hate to admit but I missed you so much " I sobbed.

No matter how much we fought when he was with me, but I did miss his presence a lot. I guess that's how siblings are.

Also this is the first time in four years I met someone from my family.

I introduced Kirti to My brother and vice versa ignoring the fact that they already met each other because I was late. We sat and spoke a lot. He asked me how everything was going on and how was I handling it without anyone.

" Look how far my little Anu made it. I'm so proud of you for choosing yourself. " He said when I gave him his answers.

After a while, when the conversation regarding the apartment came, he said. " Okay so I have to confess something first. I did come to India some years back for work purposes and even stayed here for a few months. I did not inform at home because Dad would start finding a girl for me and then try to convince me to marry. I did not want that but meanwhile I stayed at the apartment I bought with the help of dad. It was for investment purposes but then I gave it out for rent. "

" Wait a minute, you came to India, did not inform anyone and even bought a whole apartment? How crazy is this? " 

" I know. I'm sorry for that. Dad knew regarding the apartment thing but not that I'm visiting. So my point is, you guys could use that apartment? The rents in Mumbai is equal to half of the salary here, and I don't want you to suffer in your own more. So you guys could use it, atleast then there is no problem regarding finding an apartment or paying rents. The neighborhood is also good and area is very safe. "

" But- " I started but he cut me off.

" No buts, let me help you now. I did not know anything so you were alone. Now I know everything, so I am not letting you suffer anymore. And it's not like you're taking help from a stranger, I'm your brother. You can take help from me " he said and I rolled my eyes.

" The brother who didn't inform me when he visited India " I said.

" Even you didn't inform me about the whole marriage thing. I got to know it on my own. It makes everything Fair enough then " he said.

Makes sense.

" You both discuss it and then we'll go to see it tomorrow. "  He said and I nodded.

I made a mental note to ask Kirti about her opinion first.

" Okay "
