It's been at least a year since I felt a tug this intense through the force. Ever since my brother abandoned the Jedi way, my mother, Leia Organa pushed me to forgive him. That's way easier said than done. I'm much more built like my father, Han Solo. Him and I both pushed out Ben Solo, my older brother. He was little less than a memoryโ€” just a feeling. I became the golden child in my father's eyes, and I wouldn't have it any other way. But now, I felt his force signature again despite my efforts to forget him.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  I had plans. Very important plans. Plans valuable enough to form a Rebellion strong enough to crush the rising First Order. Jakku was my destination with my droid, R3-F3. He was an R3 unit, obviously. He was, to my understanding, the last of his kind. He had a green paint job, and had more personality than any droid I've ever met in my life.

First Order troops surrounded every exit into the darkened sandy desert. Jakku reminded me a lot of Tatooine, just less populated. I could hear their raspy voices getting closer and closerโ€” this is when I knew what I had to do.

Facing my little droid, I dropped on one knee and conjured up the little disk that held the plans that could mold the very future of the galaxy. R3 beeped in confusion, but extended out his little probe as if he knew what my intent was,

"Get out of here," I whispered as the voices got increasingly louder and louder, "Find my mother or my father. Just find someone we can trust. Don't let those plans out of your sight."

R3 croaked in sadness, nudging into my arm. He knew what I had to do; the sacrifices everyone, alive or artificial had to make when you join a rebellion. I patted his head and rose back to my feet, brushing off the sand from my white pants. The little green droid immediately fled off into the shadows, his destination unknown, but his intent as clear as day. He needed to be successful for the galaxy's fate.

Spinning around on one heel, I unsheathed my (F/C) lightsaber. As the sleek white armor from the Stormtroopers came into view, I began knocking away blue blaster bolts as they came my way. Blue? They obviously want me alive then if they're aiming to stun me, but that doesn't make a difference. I'll fight as if my life was on the line.

The firepower was beginning to get too overwhelming. I had caused many of the Stormtroopers' stun bolts to fire back at them and stun themselves, but they just kept coming. Finally, one made contact with my lower half, and the lit up desert turned into a menacing black. Motionless, I fell to the ground, my lightsaber rolling from my hand and imbedding itself into the course sand below.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Days had passed, yet it had only felt like minutes. Painfully, my eyes pried themselves open. Taking a moment to adjust to the harsh lighting, I glanced around the room momentarily. It was empty; void of all life. I was strapped to a chair, my arms, legs, and forehead bound by a strong leather strap. Numerous torture devices were strewn around aimlessly.

I knew I had been captured by the First Order. I wasn't intimidated in the slightestโ€” if anything, I was relieved R3 got away with the plans. Who knows, maybe he found my parents by now, and they're forming the Rebellion at this very moment. Every flame starts with a spark, and my sacrifice will be that spark,

"It appears you've woken up, sister," an all-too familiar voice rings through the room, stealing me from my thoughts.

Glancing over, I lock eyes with a tall figure; face hidden by a black mask. Just by seeing him, I could sense it was Ben, my older brother. Behind him was an unfamiliar man; his hair redder than a hot flame, plump, firm lips, and a shrewd expression.

"How far the Sith have fallen," I insulted, turning my nose up to him, "Trust me, Ben, whatever it is that you're trying to gain, or knowledge you wish to learn, give up. I'd rather die than betray mom and dad, unlike you."

I could sense Ben's anger rising through the force. How far he's fallen indeed. He used to be such a timid boy. Master Skywalker used to have to force Ben to participate in our Jedi Trainingโ€” he was always so worried he'd mess up in front of the more experienced students. It didn't matter in the end; he slaughtered them all,

"Tell me where the Rebel plans are," he snapped, not wishing to continue with the previous conversation.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Without a second thought, I spat right on my brother's mask. Flinching, Ben immediately smacked my cheek, causing searing pain to spread through my face; my cheek turning redder than that First Order official's hair. Wiping the spit from his mask, my brother went to lay another smack at my cheek, but something stopped him,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Supreme Leader," the man in the back snapped, stepping forward, "That is quite enough. She already said you wouldn't be able to get anything out of her. Might I suggest a different approach."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Ben's hand immediately turned into a fist, but thankfully it lowered to his side. He turned and glanced in confusion at the red head, "What did you have in mind, General Hux?"

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  This 'General Hux.' Why would he stop Sith Lord and Supreme Leader Kylo Ren's anger on me? That shouldn't be his place, yet my brother was listening to him. This General must be very respected in the First Order.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Hux's green eyes flashed to me, then quickly adverted back to his leader, "I think I could pry it out of her. Since she's unfamiliar with me and my methods, I may prove more successful."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "I'm right here, you know!" I snap, frowning angrily at both my brother and his General, gaining their attention, "Regardless of who tortures me, don't expect results."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Ben turned his attention back to Hux and nodded, turning tail and leaving, "It's convenient you feel this way, Armitage, because I didn't want to see (Y/N) anyways. Too anger inducing..." he trailed off. He left without another word.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  As the door closed behind him, Hux turned his attention right back to me as if he forgot my brother was ever in the room, "(Y/N) Solo. Your reputation is commendable."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "I've never heard of you before, Armitage Hux," I glamoured back, happy Ben was gone, "But you're definitely an upgrade from my despicable brother despite the fact you work for him."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Hux stepped towards me with a frown, "No offense, but I don't want to be working for Kylo Ren. He stole everything from me."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Images flashed before my eyes of Ben, when he was still Ben, slashing down my fellow students; his blue lightsaber burning angrily. All that was held in his eyes was fear and hateโ€” not the Ben my parents or I knew. He spared me that night, but it would've been easier to die than to live with those memories,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "He took everything from me too," I whispered, locking eyes with the First Order General, "He murdered everyone I ever loved, and had the nerve to spare me. I'll never forgive him for that."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Hux pulled a chair up beside me and sat down, obviously feeling comfortable enough to let his guard down, "I was destined to become Supreme Leader after Snoke's death. Ren killed him and blamed this prodigy Jedi, Rey... or something like that. He got the position and I'm stuck as General," he smashed his fist angrily on his knee, causing me to flinch, "All my life's work... for nothing."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "There's more to life than the First Order," I whisper, opening up more to the man as well, "There's many of us sick of Ben's rule. We wish to free the galaxy as it was before."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Hux pondered his response carefully. Depending on what this General's next move is could alter the course of the galaxy. He immediately got up and pressed a button lightly; the restraints letting me go.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  I fell clumsily from the chair, and Hux reflexively caught me, causing my cheeks to light up in embarrassment, "What made you do that?" I choked out, pulling myself out of his arms and brushing myself off.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "You're right," he admitted, pulling a familiar shiny object from his pocketโ€” my lightsaber. He placed it in my hand, squeezing softly, "There's so much more in the galaxy than the First Order. I can make a true difference with the Rebellion. I've been wanting to get Kylo where it hurts, and I feel like this'll sting worst than any wound."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Clasping my hand into his, I nodded; a smile plastered to my lips, "Thank you, Armitage. You'll fit perfectly in our ranks."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  We quickly devised a plan that would trick even my brother. No one would suspect Hux's betrayal off the bat until it was too late, and by then, we'd be far away from Starkiller Base. Armitage would handcuff me and act as if he was escorting me to a new cell. My lightsaber would be hidden in my pocket and out of sight. It will work like a charm.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Hux clasped the cuffs loosely to my wrists and we began the long walk through Starkiller Base. As each step brought us towards freedom, I couldn't help but to fear this was all a trap. Armitage was Ben's right hand man. Why in force would he give it up for me? I know he wants revenge, but is that enough to lose all of this?

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  As if he could read my mind, the red head placed a soft hand on my shoulder, squeezing lightly, "We're almost there, (Y/N). Please don't worry."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "How can you tell?" I asked softly as two Stormtroopers passed by, "You're no Jedi."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "I'm also not stupid," he sneered, causing my cheeks to light up again, "You're worried I'll betray the Rebellion. I can't blame you, but you have nothing to worry about, my dear. I'll do everything in my power to ensure your safety."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "You're a gentleman, you know," I responded, moving into his touch as we continued to walk, "I've never met anyone quite like you, Armitage."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  He stifled a small laugh, his arm still on my shoulder, "It's funny. I never let anyone call me Armitage. Only you, willingly at least. Your impossible older brother just does it. I think he knows I don't like it, and he's spiteful like that."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Ben didn't used to be like he is now," I commented, remembering the little boy who used to resemble my older brother, "He used to be caring. He was wise, and always knew right from wrong. My uncle had a vision about him. Master Skywalker thought the right choice was to kill Ben. That one decision ruined everything."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Hux didn't respond. I didn't blame him. How could I expect him to respond like that. I hypothesize that's his first time hearing this story; Ben wouldn't have whispered a word about it to anyone,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "I'm sorry about your friends," the red head muttered out suddenly, "I can't imagine the pain and sorrows you've gone through, and at such a young age."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Shrugging, I push away the affection. I've never been good with sympathy, let alone sympathy from someone who doesn't know an ounce about me, regardless of his intentions. Without carrying on with the previous conversation, my eye caught sight of the ship that would carry us to Yavin 4โ€“ our Rebel Base,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Look convincing now, Armitage," I whispered, picking up my speed as we passed more and more Stormtroopers; somehow still not suspecting a thing.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  The man still kept a firm grip on my shoulder. It made me nervous for some reasonโ€” it was a good nervous though. I never wanted this stranger to leave me. He made me feel safe. The fact that he also felt obligated to keep me safe was a nice feeling as well. It wasn't often someone truly cared about my wellbeing, except for R3 of course. I wonder if anyone ever worried about him... Do I worry about him?

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  We swiftly boarded the ship with no problems. I popped the cuffs off and clasped my lightsaber securely to my waist, "I was worried we'd get caught. Thank you for getting us out of there safely."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Hux only smiled while proceeding to get us into orbit and out of the Base. I could tell he felt lost. For the first time in his life, he didn't have a backup plan. He didn't have anything to fallback on. He just abandoned his safety net,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "You can't live life without going headfirst into some risks, right?" I asked, sitting beside him; laying my head on his shoulder, "You don't need to worry about a thing. You'll be much happier here."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Without warning, Hux smashed his lips into mine; my cheeks heating up on contact. When we broke apart, he averted eye contact and coughed, "I'm sorry. I just couldn't help myself."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Smiling, I ruffled his red hair and kissed him again, finally feeling whole for the first time, "Don't apologize," I whispered, leaning my forehead against his, "Now, set course to Yavin 4."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Aye aye, captain," he mused, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulled me closer, putting our ship on autopilot.
