2nd POV
♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎

Your father was evidently this stranger and her family's only hope. You never really questioned in on old Ben Kenobi's past. You knew he was a Jedi, but unfortunately he didn't pass that trait onto you, so naturally, you didn't want to know a damn thing. It always hurt far too much— how you could never be half the person your father was to everyone in the galaxy. You couldn't even pick up a pencil and drop it four feet away like he could. Absolutely nothing.

Your father always tells you that either you're not showing signs yet, or he just didn't pass it on. Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of the most influential and powerful Jedi of his time. You always thought it would be impossible for you to not be force sensitive eventually, but everyday, you trusted the force less and less. Now, however, it was time to prove your worth against the Empire as well as to your father. You had known since you were young that Ben was protecting the Skywalker boy only a few kilometres away from your hut. You knew Luke was a Jedi-to-be, so when Ben had saved the farmer from an attacking group of Tusken Raiders, you knew everything was about to change for young Skywalker. And unfortunately, you too.
The Princess of Alderaan had been taken hostage by the Empire, and Luke's droid, R2-D2 held all the information they needed to locate her.

She was on the Death Star.

And that is just where you, your father, and Luke Skywalker followed. You'd picked up to others on the way: a pilot and smuggler named Han Solo, and a Wookiee named Chewbacca. Despite being very preoccupied, you couldn't stop looking back to the fight your father and yourself had had moments before going into Mos Eisley to find Han Solo and Chewbacca.

'"Father!" you whined, not bothered even a little bit that you were acting like a toddler in front of Luke Skywalker, "You can't just not let me come. I'm not going to let you or Skywalker walk into that death trap alone. Vader won't hesitate to kill you on the spot."

Ben looked like a vein in his forehead was about to burst at your endless complaining, "(Y/N), please just go home. You can barely aim a blaster to save your life. How are you supposed to defend us from a Sith Lord?"

"I am just as capable as you!" you rebutdtaled; your anger beginning to bubble.

Ben looked apologetically at Luke and turned his glance back on you, "Your mother shared similar ambitions and it got her killed. I will not lose you both."

At the mention of your mother. you proceeded to slap Obi-Wan Kenobi across the face; the red beginning to immediately appear across his cheek, "You can't stop pushing me away! The people who love you away, just because you're scared! You're a coward! If I want to help the Rebels and attempt to destroy the Empire in any way I physically can, I will. I am an adult, and the fact that you're willing to leave me on Tatooine while you waltz to your death, you're sorely mistaken."

Ben Kenobi frowned. He looked as if he could cry at any moment, not from the pain of the slap, from your words. Of course, you didn't mean it. Your father was the most important person in your life, but sometimes he needed some coaxing words to remind him. And maybe even a slap or two.

Grabbing your wrist, Obi-Wan twisted slightly, "Listen here. Although you may not be able to comprehend what I am saying, you still need to shut up and listen. You would hold us back. We want to get the Princess back to Alderaan in one piece and you could jeopardize that, (Y/N)."

Despite his pleas, you still didn't heed to his warning, and old Ben Kenobi knew he couldn't stop you regardless. You had that Kenobi and Kryze blood coursing through your veins. You were stubborn like your mother, yet caring and determined as your father. He would have to tie you down to prevent you from following Skywalker and his new Jedi Master.

"You can't stop me, you know. Even if you leave me on Tatooine, I will hire a bounty hunter to take me to the Death Star. Would you prefer that, or would you rather me be there with you so you can watch and make sure I am okay?"

Releasing your wrist, he sighed and pulled you into a hug, "Just don't leave my side, honey."

"I won't, father," you responded, falling into his arms softly, "I'm sorry for hitting you."

"I know."'

~~~~~
Back in reality, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and yourself were completely immersed in danger. Your group had found where they were keeping Princess Leia: cell block 2187. Your father was right about one thing-- you couldn't shoot a blaster to save your life, so the men were obligated to take care of you despite their mission. Han Solo was heavily pissed off over this, which you didn't blame him. You knew Ben was right to want you to stay on Tatooine, but what kind of offspring would you be if you did that?
"(Y/N)! Are you with us?" Han shouted while shooting out the security camera centred in the prison, "The Princess is down the hall! Go help the kid find her."
Han was only inclined to fill his pockets with the Princess' gold, unlike Luke, Ben and yourself. You wanted to help Leia more than anything else. You'd never heard your father talk about Leia before, but you knew they had a past considering her recording that was left in R2-D2. You'd do anything to ensure her safety,
"You and Chewie guard the doors!" you commanded despite your lack of authority in the group.
Spinning around before the pilot could respond, you quickly located Luke, who was punching random buttons on multiple cells. Doors sprung open, which were either empty, or holding unrelated prisoners.
You shoved past Luke and headed towards cell block 2187. The energy surrounding the door was super heavy, almost like pure power was hiding behind it. Choking back the feeling to flee and momentarily recover from this sudden feeling, you punched the door open.
There she was. Honestly, she was the most beautiful creature you'd ever laid eyes on. Chocolate-brown hair kept up in beautifully planned buns. She had the smoothest skin known to mankind, and the deepest hazel eyes. You felt as if you'd fall into them and drown if you weren't careful,
"You gonna stare all day?" the prisoner questioned while rising into a sitting position on the cot she was laying on, "Doesn't Lord Vader have something more important for you to do than stare at me all day?"
Snapping back into reality, a blush rose to your cheeks, "Heh, sorry, Princess. I'm with Ben Kenobi, my friends and I are here to rescue you."
Leia leapt up from a sitting position to standing. She was already halfway out the door before she continued the conversation, "Where is Ben? Is he with you?"
"He's getting us a way off this ship," you responded, grabbing her hand and pulling her out of the cell.
"Fellas! We have company!" Han shouted. Blasters could be heard echoing along the halls as the pilot dodged and raced past. Luke was already at your side; his Stormtrooper blaster up and ready.
The fight went on for about five minutes. Many Stormtroopers fell to the superior aim of Han and Luke, but more kept replacing them.
"What's the plan, guys?" you questioned, using your body as a shield for the Princess. She was being stubborn; poking her head out from beyond your torso so she could watch the battle.
Chewbacca gave out a few grunts and growls while downing a Stormtrooper who had his blaster aimed directly at Luke. Han Solo's eyes bugged out from his skull at whatever the Wookiee had proposed,
"What did he say, Han?" Luke questioned while dipping behind one of the wall borders before returning fire.
Han slapped Chewie's arm in annoyance, "I hate to admit it, but I think Chewie is right— we have to go through the garbage chute."
You felt nauseated bile rise and burn in your throat. Who knows what the Empire has thrown down there in the last day or so before they crush it to nothingness. There could be dead bodies... honestly, anything.
You opened your mouth to give your opinion, but before you could get anything out, Leia already had her slim fingers tied around the garbage chute grate, "Someone needs to help me get this thing off! We need to move now."
Everyone in the group was very hesitant with this plan, but the Wookiee moved and got the grate off immediately. Gulping, you sighed and took the swan dive down into the void before everyone else. The stench was unbearable. The smell alone almost made you pass out on contact. You could feel it in your brain. It was numbing.
Slipping into the water, you felt your Stormtrooper armour soak up with the dirty, disgusting water below. Next came in Luke, Han, Chewie, then finally, the Princess.
Right as Leia fell into the water, you immediately scooped her up from below her armpits, "You okay, Princess?" you questioned, holding her into your chest as the water settled.
Right as she was about to respond, a crash and a bang echoed through the trash compactor, causing her to reflexively grip onto your arms. A smile, just a little one, rose to your lips as you held the frightened Princess,
"Okay, what now? Any ideas on how to get out?"
Letting go of Leia, you began wadding through the murky water and towards the door when you felt something strong and slimy wrap around your ankle, "Guys?" you questioned. Before you cold get any further words out, you were maliciously dragged under water.
You'd never been close to death before, but all the bells were ringing that death was coming. You couldn't breathe and your lungs were screaming for air. You couldn't tell what direction was up thanks to the muddy garbage water. Panicking, you began thrashing; the remainder of your air getting squeezed from your lungs like a stress ball.
Right as your consciousness began to fall away, you felt frantic grasps at your shoulders. A strong set of hands yanked you from the water; the slimy arm of the unseen creature falling away immediately.
"Oh, force!" the voice of Luke Skywalker exclaimed as you gulped down breath after breath, "Thank force you're okay! Obi-Wan would've killed me if anything happened to you."
In between frantic coughs and gags, you couldn't help but smirk, "Is that the only thing you're worried about? Not, I don't know, my life?"
You looked over to the Princess. All the blood had drained from her face. Before Luke could respond, you wadded towards her through the waist-high water, "Did I really worry you that much, Princess?"
Leia adverted eye contact, obviously embarrassed by your observation, "Shut up, Kenobi."
Chuckling, you absentmindedly brushed some dust from her pearl-white gown when something moved. Creaking and crashing noises came from the walls. Once again, Leia's fingers had made their way to your arm in fear. She was trying to hide her fear, which is something she must be used to by now with Alderaan in ruins, being an Imperial POW, and being truly alone for the first time. For the first time, your heart broke for Leia, which caused your arm to reflexively curl around her shoulder.
"What the hell was that?" Han questioned. As if the Death Star could hear him, its walls formed a response. Slowly, the walls began to close in; the creaking sounding like nails on a chalk board. It made your teeth ache, but your sudden and frantic fear overpowered the urge to vomit from the sound.
The realization began to set in. You were all going to die. Frantically, Luke began screaming into his com link, which was attached to his protocol droid, C-3P0, who was stationed in the Death Star control room. Force-willing, 3P0 will be able to stop the walls from crushing you and your friends into pulps.
"Tell that bucket of bolts to hurry!" you squeaked out as the walls began to swiftly approach, "I want to achieve skinniness but not like this!"
"Not the time to be witty," Leia snapped back, "Han, help them and I lift up this metal pole!"
Despite Han's normal tendencies to argue, especially against Leia, which has been witnessed a lot in the past few minutes, ran over to help the two of you. Han was surprisingly strong, and with the help of Chewie, you all had the metal pole lodged in. Luke was screaming at this point into his com, and the frantic and fearful voice of C-3P0 was the only response he received. Looking to Leia, you slinked your hand into hers,
"I'm sorry we couldn't get you out of here alive, Leia."
Slamming your eyes shut, anticipating the painful death of getting squashed, the noise began to die off. Slowly, you opened one eye, then the next. The walls had stopped moving!!
Cheering as the garbage walls began to separate, Leia swooped into your arms and wrapped you in a tight hug. Lifting her up, you pressed your lips to hers, which caused her to jolt back in surprise,
"What?" you sneered, "If the garbage walls won't kill us, Vader will. Just getting one kiss in before we both die painful deaths."
"Still not a good time to be witty, (Y/N)," Leia smirked, easing her lips back onto yours, "But, you make a good argument. If we make it out of here alive, I hope we can continue this properly."
"Over dinner?"
"We'll see."
