"Master, I'll be heading into Mos Eisley to pick up some supplies," you called into the sand hut your Master, Ben Kenobi and you share. He's been training you in the art of the force for around ten years now, "Would you like me to pick up anything specific while I'm gone?"

The old man shook his head, warming his hands by the fire. He was cooking watered-down Womp Rat soup. Your stomach growled at the thought, "Watch out for the Tusken Raiders, my apprentice," he warned, stroking his beard, "They're nasty this time of year. I've already had to chase a small group from our land."

"Yes Master, no need to worry about me!" you smiled, patting the lightsaber that sat snuggly on your side, hidden by the dark brown robe you religiously wore.

Master Kenobi shook his head irritably, "You remind me of my old apprentice. Don't use that unless absolutely necessary, okay. The dark side lurks around every corner."

"I remind you of Anakin?" you asked, adverting your glance down to the sandy earth below. Your Master has told you all about his notorious apprenticeโ€” he was witty, strong with the force, and yet, he fell foolishly to the dark side.

"You have quirks," he corrected himself, laying a hand on your shoulder, "I don't fear you'll suffer the same fate. Just be careful."

Glancing up, you nod sheepishly and hurry off; shaking off the comment your Master threw at you. 'You remind me of my old apprentice.' You couldn't help but keep it replaying over and over in your head. You had only ran into the notorious Sith Lord once. You were lucky to have survived that occurrence only ten years ago. Your family unfortunately didn't share the same luck. Truthfully, that fateful day was the only reason you met Ben Kenobi. He had sensed your force signature beyond Vader's....

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  The two suns rose ruthlessly high in the sky, sending sweat down your forehead. It was unbelievably hot outside, but when wasn't it? Today seemed hotter than normal. Tusken Raiders loved this weatherโ€” no wonder old Ben warned you. You were prepared though, like you exclaimed to the old Jedi. Although you've only had your lightsaber for a short time, you knew how to use it. Sand People didn't scare you.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Sand crunching under your tall black boots, you ducked into a deep canyon; mind wandering. You loved these long secluded walks away from society. Rarely, you'd see another individual, or maybe come in contact with a wild herd of Bantha, but besides that, it was peaceful. These walks were where you obtained the majority of your meditation time. Normally you were too busy taking care of your master to worry about old orthodox Jedi methods.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Rounding a corner, your eyes widened in surprise. A young boy, who you've grown to know very well was getting carried off by two angry Tusken Raiders. What was young Luke Skywalker doing so far away from the safety of his home?

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Gritting your teeth, you bound out and force pushed the two Sand People away, earning fearful and confused shouts from the pair. They leapt up; the male angrily charging at you. Dodging his gaderffi, you unsheathed your (F/C) lightsaber, taking off the male's arm. Screeching, the female rushed in to her mate, collecting him, and racing off; evidently alerting other Tusken Raiders in the area of the threat.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Sheathing your blade, you placed it back on your waist and rushed to the young man's side. Shaking him softly, the young Skywalker began to wake up,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Hello there," you smiled down at him, amused by his confused look, "You're a long way from home aren't you, young Skywalker?"

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "Huh?" he questioned, rubbing the back of his head, "Oh um, yeah. Hey, (Y/N)," he chuckled, pulling himself off the ground, "Funny enough, I was actually looking for you. Uncle Owen's new astromech is looking for his old masterโ€” someone named Obi-Wan Kenobi. I was wondering if he was a relative of old Ben."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Looking up towards a small little cave in the rock, you spotted a small blue and white astromech, "Well hello, little one," you smiled, putting two and two together, "And Luke, Obi-Wan is no relative I've heard of," you continued, helping the younger male towards his speeder, "That's old Ben himself."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "Well the droid belongs to him," Luke nodded, seemingly not surprised by this confirmation.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Before I could reply, Tusken Raider screams echoed through the canyon. It appears the two from before have conjured up their backup,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Let's continue this conversation somewhere safer, okay?" you asked, lending your support for Luke to use. The boy was still injured, and if there was one thing your master taught you, never let that boy get hurt. He's the only hope for stopping the Empire, even if he doesn't know it yet.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  With Luke driving and you as a passenger, you decided this would be a good time to catch up with the boy. You knew him better than Ben did. Since you were closer to his age, the old Jedi would send you to the Lars' farm to deliver and receive supplies. The real reason was to periodically check up on the boy. The two of you have some fond memories together,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "So how's your uncle doing?" you asked, cutting the silence apart like a hot knife to butter, "It's been a while since I stopped by. I hope you're all doing well."

The blonde smiled, his hands still latched on the wheel, "Owen is good. We can tell Beru is getting older though. It's been taking her a lot longer to complete chores and finish dinner. I've been doing her and my chores the past few months."

"Sorry to hear that, Luke," you sympathize, laying a hand on his shoulder, "I hope we can get your astromech fixed. Maybe the little one can help Beru around the farm. And I was actually thinking about stopping by more often. I've been asking myself why I stopped coming over."

"I was wondering that too," the boy commented quietly, not looking up from the sandy desert, "You just stopped showing up after weeks of coming over. I was worried I scared you off."

"No, it was nothing you did," you commented, "I've just been focusing more into my monk studies. I haven't had much pass time."

Luke nodded in agreement, his sweet smile returning. He reminded me of a Lothcat, like all the time, "Okay, that makes me feel a whole lot better! At least I know it wasn't anything I did."

Oh, it definitely wasn't anything Luke did. You were intoxicated by him. Ever since you met the boy, you couldn't get him off your mind. Ben could sense it, and he made you focus more on your Jedi training, leaving the young Skywalker boy in the past. Of course, the two of you would periodically watch the Lars' household from a distance, just to make sure they were safe, but interaction was rare between Luke and yourself after you came to terms with your infatuation.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  The rest of the ride back to the shared hut between yourself and your master was pretty quiet. Occasionally Luke would crack a joke, you'd laugh, the astromech, which you learned was called R2-D2 would whir and beep, then it'd go quiet again. You were too lost in thought to carry on a conversation. You felt terrible that Luke blames himself for your disappearance. If only he knew the extent of your sacrifices for him, and what you'd do just to see his smile,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Hey," Luke whispered, nudging your shoulder lightly, "You alright?" he asked while pulling up beside the place you've called home for such a long, long time.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "For now, just assume I am. Both of us will know when the time is right for be to tell you everything," you blankly replied, hopping out of the speeder. You had a feeling Ben would reveal everything to Lukeโ€” the two of you being Jedi, Luke's father being a member of the Order as well, and your plot against the Empire.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  The Skywalker just shrugged and hopped out of the speeder. He was obviously feeling better since the Raider attack. He didn't even need your assistance getting out of the speeder and into the sandy hut,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "Master!" you called as you entered the familiar setting, "I brought Luke Skywalker. He has an astromech droid claiming to be your property."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  On queue, Ben Kenobi popped his head out from his room, and wobbled over, nodding at the young boy; glancing down at the R2 unit, "Well hello little one," he smiled, patting the droid's head, "I don't recall ever owning a droid."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "He keeps saying he's on a mission. Only Obi-Wan Kenobi can intercept his message," Luke continued, pressing a button on the droid's front, causing a blue transmission to appear; the walls of the hut illuminating in a soft tint.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "General Kenobi. Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars," the woman began, who you vaguely recognized as Leia Organa, senator from Alderaan, "Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father's request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack, and I'm afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  You're my only hope. You're my only hope... Ben, well, Obi-Wan and you were supposed to stay secluded on this planet until the time was right, but it seems like that time is now. All the training and preparation has lead up to now,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "What's the plan, Master?" you asked as the beautiful woman disappeared into thin air, "Are we going to Alderaan?"

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Master Kenobi waved his hand in your direction, as if to silence you, "Patience, young one. We will go to Alderaan, but we need to fill young Skywalker in on what's going on."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Bowing, you let your Master do his job. Obi-Wan explained how himself and Luke's father fought side-by-side in the Clone Wars. You knew better than to alert Luke of his father's fateโ€” he would discover that in his own time. Obi-Wan also revealed to the young boy his Jedi blood, and gifted him his father's old lightsaber.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "Do you have one too?" Luke asked you excitedly, igniting it. Immediately, the hut illuminated blue again from his lightsaber.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Looking to Obi-Wan, he nodded, giving you permission to show off your blade. Holding the heavy metal in your hand, you unsheathed it, the blue and (F/C) shining brightly together, "I've been training under Obi-Wan since before I knew you. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you sooner."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "Oh no, I don't blame you," Luke sympathizes, "The Empire would've hunted you two down if they found out. Honestly, I would've been mad if you told me."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Snickering at his reply, you sheathed your blade and placed it back on your waist, "I missed thisโ€” our friendship."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "You stopped visiting because of your Jedi training," Luke whispered, finally understanding why you had to stop seeing him, "That makes so much sense."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Obi-Wan and R2 headed outside to prep the speeder, leaving Luke and you alone for the first time in at least a year. You missed him so muchโ€” enough to where just standing in his presence caused you to blush,

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  "Tell me, (Y/N)," Luke sputtered our nervously, "What's the Jedi Code like? Is it hard to follow?"

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  "It depends on the situation," you replied, remembering the rules Obi-Wan and you had gone over millions of times in the past ten years, "The one I have the most trouble with is no relationships past platonic."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Luke's eyes widened, then he smiled, "Yeah, that seems like it'd be hard for me too, especially when you're around. I'll have to follow these rules now too, right?"

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Grasping his hand in yours, you shrug, bringing him close to you, "I thinking breaking one rule won't hurt," you smirk, bringing his lips to yours, finally pouring all your pent up feelings out. It felt like a huge load was let off of you, and you could tell the Skywalker felt the same.
