2nd POV
♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎♡

You couldn't believe your luck. You knew the Jedi were heartless creatures that deserved to be out down in a very painful way, yet this was bad, even for them. Master Cera Junda, in an attempt to save herself, sacrificed her Padawan to the Empire in exchange for her life. And who was this Padawan? It was your lifetime friend, Trilla Suduri.

She sat motionless on the cold floor below her; all of her fight seeping from her thanks to the betrayal of her master. It was pitiful, really, yet you felt sympathy. If this was any other Padawan, you'd feel nothing for them. You would likely laugh in their face while striking them down. But, you had another idea for Trilla.

Opening your com link, you contacted Lord Vader. Your heart hammered in your chest. You were scared of Lord Vader, which anyone with a brain also shared those feelings. It was hard to contact him without having a panic attack, but this was an exception where you had to seem strong. If Vader sensed you had any biases to Trilla, he would command you to kill her.
"Yes, 1st Brother?" the voice of Lord Vader interrupting your thoughts, "Why have you contacted me?"

You cleared your throat and nodded, "I have found a Jedi Padawan with an exceedingly strength that I have not seen before in any Jedi. Her master abandoned her to my forces here, and I wish to have you meet her and decide if she should be trained as an Inquisitor."

Vader was silent for a moment. Of course, the Emperor's orders were to kill any and all force sensitives that around found during the raids, but even Vader knew the Inquisitors' numbers were dwindling with the kindling Rebellion. It would be smart to recruit more, especially since Vader's end goal was to assassinate the Emperor. Everyone knew this.

"Very well," the Sith Lord responded deeply while looking towards his crew, "On route to Naboo."

That was easier than you had anticipated. You'd expected to have to fight Vader's instincts to keep your childhood friend still breathing, but Vader always surprised you without fail. It's as if he purposefully did unexpected things to always keep you on your toes. No matter, Trilla will likely be spared by Lord Vader once he recognizes her abilities, and she will become an Inquisitor.
Bending down on one knee, you bowed to your master. He didn't even acknowledge the bow, and turned off the com link without even saying goodbye. That was fine by you— you didn't care what Vader did.

Turning to Trilla, you walked over and smirked underneath your mask, "I never expected to see you again, Trilla."

Trilla's head slowly looked up from the metal floor below. It was obvious she was crying, as her eyes were a shade of whitish-crimson, and there were tear streaks staining her cheeks,
"I wish to not know how you know my name, Inquisitor," she responded, her voice cracking from the tears of defeat.

"I am closer than you'd ever know," you replied while pacing in front of her. Of course, she wouldn't be able to recognize you in this state. Your helmet, similar to Lord Vader's helmet, altered your voice into a deeper, more intimidating sound that struck fear in all of your enemies.
Your force signature had also changed once you abandoned the Jedi Order and fell to the Dark Side.

Trilla finally looked up again and squinted at you. As if she knew from those words who you were, yet she didn't want to believe it,
"Remove your mask, Inquisitor," she demanded.

Under any other circumstance, with any other Jedi, you would've sliced her in half and stuck her head on a pike... but this is Trilla. Trilla, the woman who always grounded you during the stressful and difficult Clone Wars. Trilla, the one who would bandage your wound after an injury. Trilla... your first love.

You nodded and slipped the black helmet from your head. It was intimidating to show your face now, after all you'd done. Especially to Trilla. She would see the real you— the true you.

Trilla's eyes widened the second your helmet left your head, and tears pooled in her eyes once again, "How could you do this to the Jedi, (Y/N)?" she asked, her voice cracking from the oncoming tears, "We trusted you! I trusted you!" she emphasized 'I,' which absolutely shattered your heart. She did trust you, above anyone else, and now here you are, on the seesaw of either killing her, or recruiting her as a fellow Inquisitor.

"You can still trust me, Trilla," you said, the evident heartbreak over the whole situation making your voice crack, "I have spoken to Lord Vader about sparing you, and he has agreed."

Trilla sniffled and wiped her eyes with the back of her robe sleeves; confusion overtaking her face, "What? What does that mean?"

"Well," you started, not knowing where to begin, "I will just go ahead and tell you everything you need to know... I am the first Inquisitor to come out of the Empire, yet I am not the Grand Inquisitor. My job is to track down Jedi and force sensitive people and either destroy them or recruit them to be Inquisitors themselves. That is what Lord Vader is going to determine— whether I destroy you or recruit you."

You felt Trilla clench up at that last sentence. Either destroy you or recruit you... you wish it didn't have to be this way, but it is what it is. Your allegiance is to Lord Vader and the Emperor: Trilla was a potential distraction from your work, and if Vader instructed you to kill her, you would do it without hesitation... right?
"I would rather die than join the Dark Side," Trilla spat angrily, "My master abandoned me and the Jedi, but I won't be like her! Cera Junda is weak. I am not intimidated by the Empire or by you."

Bingo.
That was just what you wanted to hear. The fact that Trilla is referring to Master Junda as a coward and weak is what the Dark Side craves. Claiming she's better than her sorry excuse for a master is proof she holds reserves in her heart... she holds hate in her heart,
"You're angry," you observed while sitting on the floor beside her, "I understand your pain so much... way more than you would believe. My master was killed off very early into Order 66, and he got shot in the back. He ran from his Clones... he ran from me. I will never forgive him for what he did, and I know you'll never be able to forgive Master Junda for what she did. However, by joining me and the Inquisitors, we can eliminate all of those cowards that claim to be Jedi."

Trilla sniffled and wiped her nose. Tears caked her face, and all you wanted to do was stretch out your arms and hold her for as long as it took. Now that you've left the Jedi Order, a relationship with Trilla didn't seem as impossible. You didn't know if she felt the same about you, but you had tons of time to discover her feelings if Vader accepted her as an Inquisitor and she could begin her Dark Side training.

Speak of the devil.

Right as you began to outstretch your hand to her face so you could wipe away some of her tears, Lord Vader entered. Your arm stiffened in fear as it dropped back to your side, "Lord Vader!" you announced, clearing your throat and falling to one knee to bow, "This is Trilla Suduri. She was betrayed by her master, and I sense a great darkness in her."

Lord Vader didn't respond. He was followed in by a good amount of Clone Troopers; still adorned in their uniforms from the war, "How do you know her?" he asked, his deep voice sending shivers down your spine.

"Whenever I was a Jedi, I had trained with Trilla a handful of times," you answered honestly, because you knew Vader would be able to pick up on any lie you would try to throw his way, "She shows great potential, and I have witnessed her greatness myself. If you desire it, she will become a mighty Inquisitor for the Empire."

Vader was silent for a moment. You could hear a pin drop; the room was just so quiet. Even Trilla had stopped crying. The fear that Vader radiated was all too much for Trilla's body movements to handle, and the tears just dried up.
He stared deep into her eyes, and for a moment, you were worried Vader would attack her, but he didn't.

Straightening up, he faced you, and you fought the urge to shrink away from his glare, "You will train this woman. I want no biases, and if I see anything remotely close, I will kill you both."

You bowed, thanking the force that Vader didn't kill Trilla or you, "Thank you, my Lord. We won't let you down!"

"That would be best, 1st Brother. Now, if that is all?" Vader asked, obviously annoyed that you had brought him out this far for something some minute and small.

"No, my Lord. That's all," you answered while bowing once more, "Suduri will begin her training now."

Vader nodded and left the room; followed by his Clones. You could finally breathe steadily again. You turned to Trilla, and she had managed to pull herself up and onto her feet, "You're training me?" she asked in disbelief, "I'm older than you."

"Yet I'm stronger than you," you teased while pulling out your double bladed, red lightsaber, "We don't have time to waste. Pull out your lightsaber."
Trilla cocked her head to the side in confusion, but nodded and did as commanded. She ignited it, and a nice green glow radiated from the hilt, "I need you to break the crystal... bleed it. It will show your allegiance to the Dark Side and the Empire."

Trilla gulped and stared intently at her lightsaber. Green suited her very well, and you couldn't help but remain fixated on her emphasized features in the lighting. She was gorgeous, however, you believed she would look more majestic shrouded by a red light compared to the green, "How do I bleed it?"

"You have to break it from the inside out," you said with a steady voice, "Your lightsaber crystal lives off of Light Side energy— it fuels it and keeps it alive. To bleed it, you must feed the crystal Dark Side energy. Hate. Anger. Suffering. Put all of your pain towards the traitor Cere Junda into your lightsaber! Bleed it!"
You got a little bit carried away during your lecture. You were very passionate about the Dark Side, which was what made you into such an incredible Inquisitor.

Trilla nodded and inhaled deeply. She sheathed her lightsaber and by using the force, she managed to open up the hilt and retrieve her Kyber crystal. It shined brightly, as if it was happy to see its master. But, before Trilla could backtrack and decide she didn't want to go through with it, she quickly closed her fist around it and engulfed the crystal in pure, dark energy. The hate radiating her form was to be envied! She was truly a powerful force user!

After a few moments of strong concentration on bleeding her crystal, she opened up her palm. The crystal was indeed cracked, and it radiates a faint, red glow, "Now, put it back in your hilt and ignite it!"
Trilla did as instructed; the lightsaber coming to life. Your eyes glowed in pride at her vast achievement, "You're ready."

Trilla sheathed her newly-red lightsaber and turned to face me, "I will make you proud, (Y/N). I promise. I'll make Cere Junda beg for her life by my hand, and I will bring you her head once I've finished with her!"

Smiling, you walked into her arms and squeezed her into a tight hug. Trilla was taken off guard— she obviously wasn't expecting that, "I already am proud, my friend. You have chosen the right side to fight on, and I couldn't be more proud of you."

Trilla relaxed in your arms, and after a few moments, pressed her lips to yours. You gasped against her lips, completely not expecting that! But, you weren't disappointed, and kissed her back,
"I've waited years to do that, (Y/N)," she whispered, laying her head on your shoulder, "The Order prevented me from revealing my true feelings, but now that we are Sith, I can show you my true feelings towards you."

You smirked and kissed her once again, "Don't think about the Order anymore. There is only the Empire and the Inquisitors. We are truly free now to be who we were born to be; and I wouldn't rather have anyone else by my side than you."
