The Resistance stood around Leia, some frowning, some knitting their brows together, and some with sorrowful eyes. They were all worried. "The First Order is coming sooner than we thought," said Leia, still positioned behind the control table. "For all we know, they may be circling Gorem right this minute. Stormtroopers may be outside this very base, waiting for us to enter the hangar. We need a plan, and we need one now. The Millennium Falcon was moved to the hangar, but we may not have time to escape."

Leia turned to Poe, who had just returned from locking up Kornin. "This would be a good time to have one of your crazy plans on hand."

"General Organa, we have seven Imperial TIE fighters, and three old transports. I'm assuming they still all work since they have been shielded by the weather. We also have fourteen remaining Resistance fighters," Lieutenant Connix pointed out.

"We'll have to do with what we have. If it comes to that," said Leia, deep in thought.

She snapped her fingers. "I've got it. It may not be much, but it's better to go down fighting than to die not fighting at all. We can try to leave, but I have a sense that it's too late. I have a bad feeling about this."

"General Organa, may I speak to you for a second?" Rey piped up.

"Of course, make it quick. And please - call me Leia," General Organa replied. She moved away from the control panel and clasped her hands. Rey met her over there. "Gener-, er, Leia, I must leave immediately. It's, uh, Snoke. He's still alive."

Leia's face refrained from registering shock. "I see."

"You must know the potential danger he poses for the glaxay. He could-"

"Take back over the First Order again," Leia sighed.

Rey waited patiently for Leia to speak again. Leia searched for words and said, "May the Force be with you Rey. Bring my son back if you can. He will be there. I know him. It it your last chance to save him."

"I will. I know how much you love him." Leia wrapped her arms around Rey. Rey made eye contact with Finn as she enjoyed the possible last embrace she would have with Leia. "I will do my best. I am going to the planet Rengurar," said Rey, finally pulling out of the hug. "May the Force be with you, General."

"May the Force be with you, Rey," Leia said for the second time. "Take one of the TIE fighters."

"Of course, Leia." Rey exited the room without looking back, quickly running to her room and grabbing her bag of belongings. She rushed back down the corridor in the direction of the hangar, and collided into Poe.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"The hangar, obviously."

"Well not obvious to me. I'll accompany you," Poe offered.

"Alright," Rey said reluctantly. She didn't want anyone else to know where she was going, but she felt guilty about refusing.

They both rushed to the hangar, jumping over the old door leading to it. Rey ran over to a TIE fighter. "Hey, what are you doing?" Poe was suspicious.

"Look, I'm on a special mission to save the galaxy. No time to explain. Trust me and ask Leia about it later." Rey pleaded with her eyes.

Poe crossed his arms, and eventually yielded. "Fine."

Rey started climbing into the TIE fighter. "Just warning you, these things may be a bit rickety, but they're fueled. Be careful out there." Poe popped his head into the fighter. "Nice knowing you, Rey."

Rey placed her bag carefully beside her before replying. "You too, Poe. May the Force be with you and the Resistance."

A minute later, Poe was by himself in the hangar, watching Rey's TIE fighter exit the mouth of the hangar and disappear among the mountains.

Rey was happy to take to the sky again. How thrilling. But I need to focus. She exited the atmosphere of Gorem, only to be greeted by three Star Destroyers. Oh my gosh!

Aboard Kylo Ren's command shuttle, stationed between two Star Destroyers, Hux paced back and forth in the main control room. "When is that last Star Destroyer going to arrive?" he snapped.

"We just received word that they are entering hyperspace. Should be a matter of minutes," a nervous officer replied.

"General Hux! Unidentified TIE fighter starboard!"

Hux rushed to the window. He squinted. "Is that an Imperial TIE fighter? From the Empire?"

"I believe so." An officer stood to his left, also observing the scene.

"Well then, shoot it down! It must be from the base!" Hux ordered. How many ships like this do they have?

Inside the fighter, Rey was freaking out. Jump to hyperspace! Now! She fiddled with the controls. "Why won't this work?" she shouted in frustration. "Where's Chewie when you need him?" Rey pushed several buttons, trying not to pay attention to the Star Destroyer's guns zeroing in on her. "Please, something work!" she said in desparation.

Rey sat there, sweating in cold fear, until a signal appeared on her monitor. "Yes! It's working!"

On the bridge of the command shuttle, Hux growled in anger as he watched the single TIE fighter disappear from view. "Darn that hyperspace!" Hux stalked away from the window.

Thank goodness I made it. Rey was thankful as she exited hyperspace. Rengurar came in sight just as it had for Kylo. Ben never told me it was made of solid rock. Rey was a little surprised, but ready to face Snoke once and for all. The real question is - is Kylo going to join me to defeat Snoke, or is he already dead? Or is he going to help Snoke try to kill me to earn Snoke's trust back?

Before she knew it, Rey was landing next to Kylo's ship. "Huh, there's another transport here. Maybe Kylo brought some troopers?" She shrugged and grabbed her bag, pulling out her lightsaber. Or what used to be her lightsaber. "Nooooo." Rey shook her head in disbelief. "How could I forget? My lightsaber's in two pieces." Rey began to tear up. She had come this far, only to be stopped by a thing that she could have fixed earlier. Rey sat in the TIE fighter, holding the two halves of her ligthsaber in both hands, wondering what to do.
