Spock fired at the conducting box on the side of a large power cell. A shower of sparks rained over the unsuspecting guards. The momentary power surge caused the other cells to flicker and flash a blinding blue light.

The sudden brightness revealed the far wall of the massive room that had been covered in shadow. There was a glass door to a lift. Spock climbed to his feet and sprinted towards it. He was almost there when a searing pain tore through his leg. He fell forward, slamming to the hard ground. He quickly rolled over onto his back and shot an approaching guard. Spock staggered to his feet, limping the rest of the way to the lift.

He pressed a button once he was inside and the clear door slid shut around him. The guards rushed towards the lift, firing at Spock through the glass.

Long cracks ran across the door. It was on was on the verge of breaking when the lift shot upwards. Spock held onto the back wall as it came to an abrupt stop no more than eight seconds later. The glass door shattered as it slid open. A guard in the room turned and saw Spock, but was shot before it could fire. Spock turned and opened the lift's display, disabling it. The lift plummeted downward.

Spock found himself in a large room, expansive tinted windows clearly displaying the black city below. Suddenly one of the windows lit into a holo screen and Spock found himself staring at the giant face of the grimacing alien in the red suit. He had seen him in the scientists mind. The Great Leader. Sidian.

"Answer me!" It hissed.

Spock stepped over to a monitor and turned on the communications display for the room he was in. A few moments later, the alien hissed in satisfaction. "Now you face me!"

"You are holding one of my crew hostage. I strongly suggest you reconsider your current course of action," Spock told the alien, entering another the code into the monitor.

Sidian shrieked. "Sidian takes orders from no one! I am the Great Leader! You will show me respect! You serve me!"

"No," Spock said in a low voice. "You will take orders from me."

"You belong to me! You will take orders from me! I am your god and you will bow down before me! Like my people of the city bow! You will bow! You will obey me without question, as my people obey me! You belong to me!" Sidian warned.

"You have taken my crew from me. Not only that but you have committed genocide against your own kind and you have brutally imprisoned and killed hundreds of individuals in your attempt to replicate your own twisted perception of a perfect world. You will most certainly answer for your crimes."

The alien shrieked in anger. "I am a god! I answer to no one!"

"Then you do not deny the atrocities you have committed?" Spock asked.

"It matters very little now! What are a few lives in the pursuit of perfection? Of my perfection! I am Sidan, I am a god and I will make things as I wish! I will do as I wish! A few pathetic lives are nothing to me." The alien grinned. "They will never learn the truth. You will die! And the truth will die with you."

The door across the room shuddered as the guards began to break through.

"I wouldn't be so certain," Spock said, opened a display window on the screen so the alien could see that the entire dialogue had been transmitting to everyone in the city.

The once Great Leader left the screen for a moment. He then came back, hissing under his breath. "You will not destroy me!"

"No. I will not," Spock told him. "But it is a certainty that after this your people will."

The transmission cut out just as the door blasted inward. A group of guards marched into the room and grabbed Spock, dragging him away from the monitor, but the damage had already been done.
