Grayson's POV

"So?" I ask, waiting for Shane to tell me whatever just happened.

"Well, she's working for me now." He says.

I let out a sigh, thankful that she actually agreed to it.

"She put up a fight, though." He adds.

"What does that mean?"

"I mean, she tried fighting against it. She really wanted to just continue working for you." He shrugs.

"Really?" I ask, feeling my face get hot. I have no idea why she would want to work for me instead of him, but the thought alone gives me the slightest bit of hope.

"Yeah, but she also said she would agree to not seeing you if she got to continue working under you. Like, she offered to sign papers and everything."

"Wait, what?" I ask, feeling this news hit me harder than anything else he said. "What do you mean? I don't understand."

"I didn't let her do that though, clearly." He adds quickly.

"But she doesn't want to see me anymore." I say slowly.

"I don't think it's that she doesn't want to see you anymore. I think it's more so just...a lot for her to take in right now. You need to give her some time. She'll come around. You two have something that could be really good. Plus, she didn't really look like she meant what she was saying. Just give her some time and let it all play out naturally. Maybe we can all do lunch? But instead of one of us inviting her, we could have Sofia do it. That way, she feels more comfortable."

"And if she says no?"

"Then she says no and the three of us will still go to lunch. It'll be fine, man. She likes you. Trust me." He says, giving me a hard slap on the back.

"I just don't want to lose this." I mutter.

"You're really into her, aren't you?" He asks me.

"Yeah, I think I am." I say, realizing this might be the first time i'm really admitting to this.

"Well, then you just need to trust me. Okay? It's going to be fine. I promise." He assures me once more.

"Okay. Yeah, you're right." I mutter to myself. "It won't be weird for Sofia to ask, right?"

"For me to ask what?" Sofia says, walking into Shane's office with a few drinks in her hand.

"Speak of the Devil." Shane says, taking one of the drinks from her hand and setting it onto his desk. He leans over and kisses Sofia, smiling before pulling away.

"I think you two have to give me some time to get used to this." I say, only cringing slightly.

"Is five seconds enough time?" Sofia asks, kissing Shane once more. Shane laughs, buts makes their kiss a short one.

"Hardly." I mutter.

"Anyways, what was I needing to ask?" Sofia asks, pushing some hair away from her face.

"So Natalia is working for me now..." Shane started, but was quickly cut off by Sofia's gasp.

"Wait, why?" She asks.

"I had to move her." He said in an unsure voice.

"Wow. You really have to be that lame, huh?" She asks.

"I had to! They were making out in her office!" He defends.

"You were what?" Sofia asks, turning her full attention to me.

"I...we...yeah." I finally am able to get out.

"Okay, so whats the problem here?" She asks.

"The problem is that Grayson is her boss! He can't just go and kiss her in full display of anyone to see! That's a major HR issue, and you know that!" Shane exclaims.

"Shane, I know you're like way older, bur you're not that old. Try and remember how to have some fun." Sofia says, rolling her eyes.

"Okay, first of all, i'm not even thirty yet!"

"Okay, so why are you acting so lame?" She drags out the word, causing Shane to huff in annoyance.

"Listen, there's a reason I'm the one in charge of stuff like this. Christ, if you were in my position you would just advise for everyone to make out with each other." He retorts.

"Well, if it's in Grayson's benefit then yeah?" She says in a questioning voice.

"He can't just do that, Sofia. Not in his position." Shane sighs.

"Sounds to me like Shane just doesn't want you to get laid." She shrugs to me. I feel my face get hot at the mention of it. Getting laid is no where on my mind. Hell, i'd be lucky to even get a date with her at this point.

"Of course I want him to get laid! Hell, the guy hasn't been laid in twelve years."

"Ten." I correct him.

"I can't even imagine the next twenty four hours without getting laid." Sofia says.

"I really don't want to know." I say, holding my hand up for her to stop.

"Listen, I just think you should have let it slide. They were just kissing." Sofia says, defending me. Although I agree, I also know why she had to be transferred.

"Because they can't just kiss in her office on full display, Sofia. It's unprofessional."

"I'm just saying that we've done much more than kiss in your office and you didn't seem to have a problem with it." She says innocently, taking a sip from the straw in her drink.

"Sofia!" He exclaims.

"I don't care how much time passes. I'm never going to want to hear it." I say, covering my ears.

"Oh don't be so dramatic." She scoffs, rolling her eyes at the two of us. "Now, can we please get back to the original question?"

"We don't think it would be okay for us to invite her to lunch today. I mean, we want her to join us, but it might be..." Shane says, trying to find the right words.

"Awkward?" She suggests.

"In so many words." I reply.

"Okay, so you want me to ask her for you guys?" She asks.

"Well...yeah, basically." Shane says.

"God, you guys are so pathetic." She laughs.

"No we're not." Shane retorts.

"Okay, well i'm going to go and do some damage control." She says, walking towards the door.

"Wait, hold on. What are you about to do?" Shane asks, walking over and stopping her quickly.

"I need you two to just sit back and let me handle this. Okay?" She asks, giving him a kiss and a wink before leaving the room.

We're both silent for a second as we watch her walk down the hall.

"Should we be worried?" I ask.

"Oh yeah."  He answers.
