Luke's POV

I poofed into the studio, my heart still pounding in my ears. Did that... really just happen? Did I almost kiss Julie?

I did. I did almost kiss Julie. Is it because I-

I gasped as my knees buckled. I barely caught myself before I went crashing to the floor. I couldn't breathe. I was being crushed by the revelation that had just slapped me in the face.

I am in love with Julie Molina.

It explained why I was so jealous of Nick the day I went to her school a few weeks ago. It explained why I get this tingly feeling all over and my heart beats faster whenever Julie enters the room.

It explained why I wanted to kiss her so badly- and why I almost did less than a few minutes before.

Holy crap. I'm in love with Julie Molina.

"Bro? You okay?" Reggie's voice jolted my back to reality. I looked up and said Reggie and Alex sitting on my couch, staring at me.

"Yeah, I'm- I'm good," I said, clearing my throat. Clearly, I'm not a very good actor, as Reggie saw right through me.

"You sure? You look like you're about to pass out," he said, getting up and walking towards me. I sighed and leaned against the wall, staring at the piano. I imagined Julie sitting there, her fingers dancing across the keys, the morning sunlight washing over her from the windows behind the piano.

Reggie followed my eyes. He looked at me, a smug look on his face.

"Uh oh, someone's got Julie on the brain," he teased, and for once, I decided not to deny it.

"Yeah," I said, taking my eyes off the piano to see Reggie's shocked face.

"Wait, what?" He asked in a high pitched voice. "You're not denying it? I thought this day would never come!"

I rolled my eyes and pushed past Reggie, walking over to the piano. I ran my hand tenderly over the sleek wood, as if it would fall apart at any moment.

"I'm done pretending, Reg," I said dreamily, leaning against the piano. Reggie slapped his hand to his forehead in shock.

"Wow, I- wow!" He exclaimed, laughing. "So you admit it? You love Julie?"

I nodded. "Yeah. I love Julie," I confirmed. As soon as I said it out loud, it just felt... right. Like everything was how it was supposed to be.

"Well, at least Luke's love life is resolved," I heard Alex grumble from the couch. I looked over to see him leaning his chin in one hand, twirling one of his drumsticks in the other.

"What's up with him?" I asked, jabbing my head in Alex's direction.

"He hasn't seen Willie since the Orpheum, and now he's getting super worried," Reggie sighed. "He's been down in the dumps ever since breakfast, I don't know what to do." I walked over to the couch and sat down next to Alex.

"Hey, bud," I said hesitantly. Alex barely glanced at me.

"Hey," he replied. I patted his shoulder.

"Willie's okay, you know," I said. Alex glared at me.

"You don't know that! Caleb could have found out he was helping us, and-" Alex stopped mid-sentence, choking back tears. I sighed.

"Where have you looked?" I asked, trying to be as patient as possible.

"Everywhere!" Alex cried, throwing his hands up into the air. "I've been all over L.A.! I've searched the entire city at least three times every day since the Orpheum!" He put his head in his hands.

"Why don't we look one more time?" I said. "Reggie and I will help you." Reggie's eyes snapped over to me, a betrayed look in his face. I narrowed my eyes.

"Reggie and I will help you, right, Reggie?" I said fiercely.

"Ugh, fine," Reggie groaned. "C'mon, let's go." He sent me a glare before poofing out. I helped Alex up, and together, we poofed out after Reggie.

Alex's POV

Luke and I poofed onto the Main Street in L.A., right next to the Orpheum. People took no notice of us as they walked by (as usual) and soon I spotted Reggie a little ways ahead of us, walking on the sidewalk.

Luke and I ran forward to catch up with him, and when we did, Reggie huffed in annoyance.

"Why are we doing this?" He groaned, throwing his head back as if walking down the street was the most painful thing in the world.

"Come on Reggie," Luke said quietly, smacking his arm. "We're doing this for Alex, okay?" I sighed and put my head down as I walked. It's not like we were gonna find Willie, anyway. I had already looked all over town multiple times, and I didn't see a trace of him.

"Yeah, yeah, I know," Reggie said, kicking a pebble along the sidewalk. "Hey, where were you by the way?"

I saw Luke give Reggie a questioning look.

"When you left in the middle of breakfast," he explained. "We went to the studio like five minutes later, and you weren't there- plus, we know you didn't break your guitar. So where were you?" Luke groaned.

"You're like some type of private investigator today," he said, shoving Reggie lightly, "but fine. I was at Julie's school."

"Reggie was right, you really do have it bad," I said, trying not to sound too depressed. Luke blushed for what felt like the three hundredth time today.

"I'm not that obvious, am I?" He asked. I let out a loud, genuine laugh.

"Dude, you stare at her all the time," I said, patting Luke on the shoulder. "Whenever you're singing, you've got this... look in your eyes. Remember, me and Reggie questioned you before?" Luke nodded.

"You suck at pretending," Reggie said, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "I think you should just tell Julie how you feel." Luke looked at Reggie like he was insane.

"Are you serious?" Luke exclaimed. "I can't do that! She doesn't even like me like that!"

"You'll never know unless you tell her!" Reggie taunted, chuckling as Luke growled at him. Luke and Reggie continued bickering, but I wasn't paying attention anymore, as something had caught my eye.

I saw the flash of a skateboard and the cracks of a pale blue helmet. I stopped walking and slapped Luke's arm.

"Ow! Dude-"

"Shhhhh!" I said urgently, before taking off running across the street. I heard two steps of footsteps behind me, signifying that Luke and Reggie were following me. Once I was almost across the street, I saw the skateboard again, and this time, a wisp of dark brown hair. My heart skipped a beat.

Willie.

I picked up the pace as he turned to corner, trying to catch up to him before he disappeared. When I ran down an abandoned street, I finally saw Willie sitting on a curb, helmet in hand. I ran up to him and bent down, my hands on my knees, to catch my breath. When Willie saw me, he nearly jumped several feet in the air.

"Ahhh! Alex, don't scare me like that!" He said, placing a hand over his chest.

"Sorry, I just had to talk to you," I said as Luke and Reggie appeared beside me, panting harder than I was.

"Where have you been, man? I've been looking all over for you!" Willie said, grabbing his skateboard and standing up. I raised my eyebrows.

"What do you mean? I've been looking all over for you!" I shot back, throwing my hand into the air. Willie gave me a bewildered look.

"Every time I went to the studio, you weren't there," he explained. I groaned and facepalmed.

"So you're telling me that basically every time I was out looking for you, you were out looking for me?" I said. "What kind of luck is that?" Willie only laughed in response.

"I don't know, dude, but I'm glad I found you. I need to talk to you about something," he said. My heart skipped a beat. What does he want to talk about?

"It's about Caleb," he explained, a more serious look appearing on his face. My smile drooped.

"What? Why? What did he do?" Luke and Reggie, who I had forgotten were there, asked at the same time. Willie shrugged.

"Nothing. And that's the problem," he said. "Caleb hasn't been seen at the Ghost Club for a week now." My eyes widened.

"But... it's been a week since we played the Orpheum," I said. "Do you think that could be related to Caleb going missing?"

"I don't know," Willie said, tucking his skateboard underneath his arm. "That's why I was looking for you. I wanted to know if you've seen any sign of him, any sign whatsoever." I racked my brain, but couldn't think of anything.

"I don't think so," I said, biting my lip. "Everything's been pretty chill." Willie nodded.

"Well, if you see him, or notice anyone around you acting weird, just let me know. We can meet in that old museum, okay?"

"Got it," I said, and I couldn't help but start to feel a little disappointed as Willie clipped his helmet back on his head.

"Wait, Willie-" I started, but losing confidence, stopped and looked at the ground. I didn't even know what I was going to say.

"What is it?" Willie said, turning back to me and taking off his helmet. I noticed Luke and Reggie turn and walk a few paces away out of the corner of my eye. I took a deep breath.

"I- I really like you," I said quietly, avoiding Willie's eyes and settling for staring at his shoes. This was a mistake, I thought. I messed up, I messed everything up, and now-

I lost my train of thought as I saw Willie's shoes move closer to mine. I whipped my head up and found myself staring right into his perfect face.

"I like you too, Alex," he said, stepping even closer. My eyes went wide and I'm pretty sure my face was redder then Luke's.

"R-really?" I squeaked. Willie chuckled and grabbed my hand.

"Of course," he whispered before leaning in and placing a small peck on my lips. I gasped and almost pulled back in surprise. Willie looked into my eyes and gave me a small smile.

"See you, Hot Dog," he said, before grabbing his skateboard and poofing away.

I stood there in shock for a few moments before a huge smile crept across my face and my earlier depression fading away quickly.

"No. Way," I heard Reggie say behind me. I groaned and turned around to see his and Luke's eyes wide, their mouths hanging open.

"Did we just see what I think we saw?" Luke asked, as an evil grin grew across Reggie's face.

"It did!" Reggie yelled, jumping up and thrusting his fist into the air. "It finally happened! Willex has happened! Woohoo!"

Luke and I looked at him with questioning looks on our faces.

"Your ship name," Reggie said. "Wille and Alex. Julie taught me about that." I squinted my eyes.

"So, Luke and Julie's ship name would be... Lukie?" I asked, still confused.

"No, no, you're doing it wrong," Reggie said. I glared at him.

"I'm not taking advice from you!" I exclaimed. "You still spell 'bologna' 'b-a-l-o-n-y!'"

"Why is it spelled like 'bahlawgnah?'" Reggie yelled, greatly exaggerating the pronunciation. "It makes no sense! It should be said like it is spelled! Like, take 'knight' for example! Why the heck is there a 'k' in there?!?" I just groaned while Luke shook his head. Reggie looked at Luke desperately.

"Luke? You know what I'm saying!"

"You don't even know what you're saying," Luke shot back, poofing out before either of us could say anything else. Reggie let out a sarcastic gasp.

"I hate you guys," he pouted. "I'm gonna go hang with Ray."

"Just be careful not to poof in front of him," I said before Reggie could leave. "You'd have a lot of explaining to do." Reggie rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, yeah," he said, before poofing out.

I chuckled and sat down on the curb, my head replaying the memory of Willie kissing me. I smiled to myself, thinking that I'd stay out, for just a little longer.

Hey guys! This was my attempt at a good Willex chapter. There aren't many Willex stories out there, (unfortunately) so I kinda had to wing it.

I think that in the canon show, Willex should get the first kiss, just because Alex and Willie have a little bit more of an upfront relationship then Julie and Luke (who I think should get the next kiss in the future). I also think Willex is too adorable. 🥰

See you next time!
