Hey Soulmates ~ ~

Thank you for being so patient with me
while I was away on another trip!

Thank you so much to everyone who votes <3
It means a lot to me.

I'm so grateful because it helps and encourages me in many ways.

Because Hokey Pokey randomly came into my head,

I'm going to ask for your left foot here.

Put your left foot in.

So it became a little bit like that.

Like a normal relationship, almost.

Every day you tried to believe in you and Jungkook a little bit more.

And every day he tried to be more committed,

or rather show you how committed he is,

but it isn't easy for Jungkook,

who never says what he feels, according to Jin.

But if your confidence in your relationship is the basis of whether you could reach out to him in the dream,

then Jungkook sure as heck isn't going to wait sitting down.

He made it obvious, always sneaking his hand over the car seat to intertwine his fingers with yours.

He waited to eat dinner every single night now, until you arrived.

And when you Healed, you no longer sat together silently.

He told you all about his day and insisted on hearing all about yours.

He also starts an awkward thing

where he introduces every single female colleague around him to you.

By name and by face.

He will tilt his head repeatedly,

making bigger and bigger gestures with his arms,

until everyone stops to look at you,

and you roll your eyes and go to him,

so you could shake hands with whichever woman he felt the need to meet you.

He starts distancing himself from his female friends.

"I don't want that, Jungkook. I'd never want you to lose your friends..."

You frown, afraid that he feels obligated.

"It's just until you meet them, and we don't talk much anyway," he shrugs.

"I don't really... have a lot of friends."

"All the more reason to keep them-" you start to argue,

but you're cut off by a loud slam,

as Namjoon glides into the studio, the door swinging shut wildly behind him,

his mouth in a scowl and his eyes dark.

Jungkook's fingers wrap around yours.

He strokes the back of your hand soothingly as you startle.

"Namjoon hyung is having a rough time right now," he says quietly.

"Should you go to him?" you ask, as you see Jungkook's brows tighten.

"No, I don't think he wants to talk about it."

Jungkook turns to look you in the eye.

"But seeing hyung like that... he's...

... it does remind me... how lucky I am.

To have you, to be with you.

I know we have our problems to work through.

The dream, the effects... but...

I'm just... so glad to have you.

I'm not going to give up on us.

You know that, right?"

"I'm the one that's lucky to have you," you whisper.

"Is it... getting easier?" he asks.

"We had the dream again last night, didn't we?"

His eyes drop, nonchalant,

but his tone searching for something.

"I swear that last night, when we had the bonding dream, I could like... twitch my hand," you grin.

He gives you an exasperated smile.

"I'm serious," he says.

"It is getting easier, I really think so.

In our dream... the details... the background... are all sharper now, at least for me,"

you tilt your head at him, questioning.

"Me too," he nods.

"I noticed that."

"And I mean, last night I can twitch my hand, maybe next time I'll take a step.

And then eventually, I'll walk up to you and give you a dream kiss,"

you wink at him, trying to lift his spirits.

His face changes, and he gives you a slow smile.

"Don't go making those promises now."

"You're so handsome," you say,

except you didn't really say it.

The words kind of fell out of your mouth on their own.

And you'd be embarrassed if you weren't also glad for the change of topic.

Jungkook's gaze had a talent for making your heart speed up,

making you flustered...

Making you... genuinely want to give him everything he wanted.

"It's a promise then," he presses,

leaning in,

not distracted at all.

He pulls on your hand until you look him in the eye.

"I'll be waiting for that kiss."

You swallow hard, your cheeks burning,

barely nodding

before you tear your eyes away from his.

But then there were other new things too,

like how Jungkook always disappeared during his afternoon break now,

when you used to have half an hour to get a coffee or tea together,

or in Jungkook's case, a bag of Banana Kick...

But now, he was gone during that break.

And it left you curious.

For a while.

---------

Your hand hesitates over the pudding that Jimin is handing you.

"It was for Taehyung, but he's not here, so you have it," Jimin says.

He rips open the lid of his own pudding, digging in with the small spoon.

"Maybe I'll save this for Jungkook," you smile.

Jimin lifts an eyebrow.

"He's already having one."

You can feel the smile freeze on your face.

"You know where he is?"

"He's just in the lounge," Jimin sucks on the tip of his finger.

"He's always there now during the coffee break."

"Oh, is he... is he busy?"

You try not to sound too needy.

Jimin picks up on your uneasiness in a heartbeat.

He lifts his eyes to your face.

"What's wrong?"

"It's just... he used to have coffee with us... here," you say quietly.

"I understand if he wants some space.

Do you think he needs some space from me?"

Jimin grins.

"I don't think that's it at all."

You frown at his cryptic reply.

"Jungkookie... is crazy about you," Jimin waves his hand dismissively.

"Taehyung was talking to me, he told me that one night Jungkook was tilting his shoulder as he was walking toward you?"

Jimin pauses for a moment to laugh.

He slaps his thigh and throws his head back, laughing so hard he almost chokes.

"We only do that on stage.

It's supposed to be sexy, so Jungkook's obviously trying so hard to be sexy for you."

You blush a little.

You do remember all too clearly how he looked.

It worked.

"Jungkook never tried to reach out to anyone before you.

He is always so reserved.

Guarded. Waiting for someone outgoing to reach out to him.

But with you, he just puts himself out there.

I've never seen him do that before.

He is scared and nervous... but he cares so much about you."

Jimin talks around mouthfuls of pudding.

"Jungkook is writing in his memory diary every day.

I see him read it every morning."

You dip your head.

You are still touched when you think about his memory diary.

Jungkook keeping track of his thoughts.

For you.

So you wouldn't feel pressured.

You open your mouth to reply Jimin,

but-

"Noona!"

You aren't expecting the title, but you turn at the familiar voice.

Huening Kai is jogging toward you, a bright smile on his face.

He's got a stuffed animal in his hand.

"You bring that to work?" You grin.

"It helps me de-stress," Kai says defensively.

Soobin strolls in behind him.

"Noona, how come you're not with Jungkook hyung...? I saw him with his journal in the lounge."

"Oh really? I don't want to bother him."

Apparently everyone has seen Jungkook except you.

Soobin shrugs.

"Hyung isn't doing work I think. But he was messing his hair and looking frustrated and writing in his journal..."

Soobin smiles.

"Hyung is not very good at writing, but he's doing it for you..."

Soobin points in the opposite direction behind you as he slowly backs away.

"Anyway, it looked like he is coming for you, Noona..."

Your eyes widen.

Is Jungkook coming here?

Kai hits you gently with his stuffed animal

and gives you a shy smile as Soobin pulls him away.

You look back to see Jimin raising an eyebrow.

"Everyone can see Jungkookie changing for you," Jimin sighs.

"Even the dongsaeng..."

"I will try harder to be worth it," you answer,

drawing a deep breath,

lifting your chin.

You straighten your back.

Jimin smiles.

"At least things are going well for you two."

"They are,"

cuts in the slightly hoarse voice

that always rings in your ear just the right way,

the one that is Jungkook

and can only be Jungkook.

Your heart flies to your mouth as you see him,

rounding the corner.

His expression might look a little cold,

as he sweeps the room and sees you and Jimin sitting there alone,

but it still takes the breath from you,

as his lanky strides glide him into the room,

his jaw squared.

He drops down onto the sofa beside you,

and wraps his arm around your shoulder possessively.

"Things are going great for us,"

Jungkook practically pulls you into him.

"Why do you ask, hyung?"

Jimin almost laughs,

but he puts another spoonful of his pudding into his mouth instead.

"Because, well, you know Namjoon hyung is a mess right now for his soulmate."

Jungkook sighs, solemn.

"All the more reason we have to make things work.

So Namjoon hyung will see that there's a way."

He turns to you,

still pinned against him by his arm,

and smiles as he sees the faint blush on your cheeks.

He leans in,

his breath against your ear,

the smile slow in his voice,

"Baby, is this all it takes

to make you shy?"
