Daddy finished reading and looked down at me. I giggled "they talked about me!" I jumped happily and daddy smiled at me. He put the paper down on the table, stood up and pulled me onto his hip "how about we go pack munchkin?" He laughed and we left the kitchen together.

"Smile Collin, were going to go see our family!" Daddy told Collin who sat next to him in the passenger seat. Uncle Collin switched out of his fancy clothes and stuck to a T-shirt and shorts. Daddy also has a T-shirt and shorts on. Even Albert and me have shorts on. Its like a T-shirt and shorts party!

Colin had his arms crossed over his chest "whatever. Watch where you are driving. I'm not in the mood to die yet." He grumbled and Daddy smirked at him.

"Well I know Sophie and Al are excited right guys?" I nodded and smiled at daddy through the mirror.

Al kept his face in his phone "Totally Honey Buns" he said sarcastically. Daddy rolled his eyes and I looked out my window. The sun was just setting so the sky was a pretty pink and orange collage. Daddy said that his mommy and daddy have a private beach. I have never been to a beach before. Before we left Albert took me to go pick out swimsuits for our trip. Then we skipped lunch and got frozen yogurt but Al said we couldn't tell daddy. His words on the ride home were 'if he asks we had cheeseburgers and a fruit bowl because we are healthy people!' Albert's funny sometimes.

"Daddy can we play Old McDonald?" I asked. Collin smiled a weird smile and reached for the CD player.

Daddy was quick to stop him, he grabbed the CD out of Collin's hands and threw it out the window "how about just some radio babe, I'm not really in the mood to hear what animals are on the farm today."

"What did you do that for Mr. Uptight?" Collin argued in shock.

Daddy put on his mean face and glared at Collin "maybe someone's little brother is being unappreciative and rude to their older brother" daddy said in his meanie voice.

"Oh dang your daddy is throwing shade." Albert whispers in my ear. I look at him confused and I was about to ask what 'shade' was but Collin's voice beat mine.

"Well maybe if the big brother didn't try to control the little brother then maybe there would be something to appreciate." He says back.

I only ever have seen Collin mad once before. It was when I accidentally shattered his phone screen. I was playing with his phone and walking up the stairs at the same time. When daddy yelled at me to come to my room the phone slipped out of my hand and down the stairs. I didn't mean to drop the phone but when I did it was too far gone to be repaired.

"Well the big brother wouldn't be so controlling if the little brother would be smart for once in his life. When their parents decided that they didn't want to be parents the big brother had to step up to the plate for his little brother. So be thankful that the big brother didn't leave the little brother in the dust damnit!" Daddy yelled and that quieted Collin.

By now the sun was gone and the stars were sparkling in the black sky. I held Daisy close to my chest while we waited for Collin to reply. Albert had his phone in his lap but he ignored the buzzing. Daddy kept his eyes on the road while Collin looked at him dumbfounded.

Suddenly I felt an air bubble in my tummy and it traveled up to my mouth. An awkward sound came out and everyone jumped. I giggled at the feeling "Sophie say excuse me!" Daddy scolded my burp. I laughed out an 'excused me' and kept on laughing.

I felt someone unbuckle my seat belt and pull me out of my seat. I whined, I didn't want to get up. I had a little warm spot in my car seat. "Shh.." Daddy hushed me and threw a blanket over my back. I kept my eyes closed as I heard him walk up a step and into a house. "Oh is she asleep Caden?" I heard an older woman's voice ask. Daddy said a quick yes while kicking his shoes off.

I held onto Daddy's shirt tighter and pushed my head into his neck "Well I have the guest bedroom all set up for you two. Now go and get my grand daughter to bed. I will send Fran to wake you up for brunch in the morning."

Daddy walked up some stairs after saying goodnight and I heard him closed a door shortly after "Soph, baby, wakey wakey" daddy rubbed my back trying to get me up. Holding on tighter to his shirt I shook my head. "Come one kiddo let's get PJs on then you can sleep for as long as you want." Daddy made quick work of putting on my nemo jammies then straight under the covers.

I laid under the blankets while daddy sat with his lap top on leaving a glow in the pitch black room. He had his glasses on and was doing work. Daddy had his right hand scrolling through his emails while his left hand petted my hair. I scooted closed to his leg and closed my eyes

"Goodnight Baby" Daddy whispered

"Night night daddy"
