Daddy sat on my bed and watched me run around like a chicken with its head cut off. I giggled and walked back to daddy "Thank you daddy!" I smile up at him.

Daddy smiled and lifted my up onto my new bed "anything for you princess."

Ring... Ring... Ring...

Constantly my phone is nonstop ringing. I quickly pick up my phone "hello?" I asked into the phone.

"Hi Mr. Davidson it is John." I internally groan. John is one of my 'friends' more like annoying competition who always wants to be better than me. Like that can happen.

My eyes scan at the clock to see that its only 7 "why have you called me so early?" I demand. I was sleeping very peacefully and now I'm annoyed that I was woke up.

"Oh were you sleeping? I didn't know..." He trailed off like the manipulating worm he is.

"Of course you didn't know" I swear...

"Well anyway I was wondering when you are finally going to decide to reschedule our meeting. I have a great offer for you." Work. Ugh.

Ew as Sophia would say.

"How about 9 today?" I just want to get this over with.

"Great! See you then friend." And he was gone just like that.

"See you then friend" I mock him. Some people just get on my nerves. I roll out of bed quickly and exit my little abode.

I rub my morning scruff and open the pastel pink door "Yo little cupcake! Let's get up and start the day."

"What do you mean you can't watch her?" I whined at Collin. Sophia sat and ate her chocolate pancakes with chocolate syrup and raspberries for breakfast silently while Albert drank his morning coffee and read on his phone.

"Dude, if I could I would. But I can't take a little girl to a board meeting! She would get bored! It is called a board meeting." He said mater of factly.

I put my head in my hands, "She isn't hard to entertain, give her a pen and notepad then BAM! You have a entertained child." I begged him. I have no one else to watch her. And I can't leave her to fend for herself at home.

"And leave her to draw pink unicorns on my walls?" He argued back.

Well shít...

"Daddy I don't want to stay here..." Sophie says and wraps her arms around my neck a little tighter. I was left with a drop off daycare as my only other option. Sunshine daycare to be exact. Not my favorite choice. I have no idea who any of these people are and why should I leave her here with them?

The lady who runs the daycare handed me a check-in/check-out book.

Screw you John and your stupid meeting...

"Trust me Soph, I don't want to leave you here either" I muttered after I finished signing my name on the dotted line. "But neither of us have a different choice right now."

The daycare lady smiled at me and Sophie "someone will come up front to pick up little Sophia here" she said and went back to her desk in the front office. I sat down and sat a pouting Soph in my lap.

"Oh stop it" I scold and pull out my phone. I skim though my emails. Sophie held Daisy her monkey in her lap. "You are going to be good today right? No tantrums correct?" I check up with her.

"I am Daddy but Daisy might be bad." She whispers and plays with the sock monkey's stubs for arms.

I lay my phone on my chest "Daisy you need to be good too." I look at the pink monkey.

Sophie nods in agreement, "yes you do Daisy." I smile and shake my head.

This kid.

"Sophia?" A voice calls out into the office that we are currently sitting in.

We looked up in unison. I'm not sure what my daughter saw but I can tell you what I saw. Perfection. Her blonde hair was in little braids at the too and the loose bottom. Her eyes shown bright just as bright as Sophie's. She was tall but not taller than my 6'5 height (totally just realized that I never put that in the story... Sorry😊) she was the most gorgeous thing I've seen.

The girl shifted from one foot to the other and I knew I have been staring for too long.

Oops.

Sophie slide off of my lap and I stand up. She instantly grabs my hand. "Hi I'm Caden and this is my daughter Sophia." I push Sophie forward a little and she waves saying a meek 'hi'

She smiles and I notice just how pretty she is when she smiles "Well hi, I'm Ms. Embry." She puts her hand in front of her and I shake it.

Embry.

I like it.

My phone decides to ruin the moment and start ringing. I huff and pull out my phone, John. "Sweetie Daddy has to go to work but I will be back to pick you up later okay?" I could see Sophie start to get nervous.

"You're coming back right?" Did you hear that? My heart breaking? Yeah I did too.

I bend down to her level " I will be back in a few hours. Besides we are having pizza for dinner" I say excitedly. She smiles and hugs me.

Sophia grabs Embry's outstretched hand and waves at me when she leaves the room. "First kid?" The lady asks from her desk.

I nod "yeah she's my baby." I laugh a little. My phone rings once again. Its going to be one of those days with work. I can feel it.

"She will be fine. We will take very good care of her." I smile and put my hands in my pockets. Its weird now that I don't have my shadow to hold my hand or something.

"Please do, she's all I got." I told her. We talked for a little longer about when I will be back to get Sophie. But soon I needed to leave for work. Driving to work was a hard thought. Especially without Sophia and having this new girl on my mind.

Whoa! Longest chapter I have written yet. I really hope you guys like this direction I am taking the story. I think I like it so...
