Whenever temptation rears its ugly face
I fight them with every fiber of my soul
it would be so easy to resume the chase
as I wish to do better, live up to my role.

Yet when I see her, she gets into my head
like being struck by powers from high above.
There's nothing you can do, or to be said
that would cause me to forget my lost love.

I lay awake in thy bed, going over my failure
all those mistakes, each screw up I ever made.
They led to my fall, my disconnection from her
and with this loneliness, my duties are paid.

There's no guarantee things will improve or be fine
but it never stops me from wishing she were mine.
