Here's the next chapter!

The new update days are: Monday and FridayI'll also be updating the Interactive Story about Logan's cousin every weekend.

Oh, and who's story do you want me to post next? JESS or AMARYLLIS?

This chapter is dedicated to averina13 for asking the question that's been on my mind for weeks!

Logan

"What do you want to order?" I ask Saf, handing her the menu. I have to reach past her to grab it, and my pulse starts to race. After all of Jasper and Zara's PDA, I have a lot of ideas, and none of them have anything to do with food.

"Pizza?" Saffron raises an eyebrow like it should be obvious.

"Yeah, pizza." Sure, you can get pasta and salads at Joe's, but no one ever does that. "What kind?"

"Doesn't matter." Saf shrugs and picks up the binder in front of her. "What's this?"

"The menu." I grin.

"I thought someone forgot their homework," Saf says as she opens the red, 3-hole punch binder. It's got a bunch of bright orange pages inside with giant pictures of pizza. They're actually the exact size of the Joe's ketchup bottles, which made the menus a lot easier to design.

"My favorite's No More Homework," I tell Saffron, leafing to the correct page and pointing at the picture. The name is printed next to it in giant letters, which makes it easy to read, and below that is a typed list of ingredients, followed by the price.

"No more homework?" Saf repeats, staring at the name.

"Pepperoni, bacon, ham and hot sausage," I list all my favorite toppings, "I named it."

"You did?" Saf asks in surprise.

"We all worked here part-time last summer—Jasper, Zara, Jess and I." Saf's smile dims slightly at the mention of Jess, or maybe I just imagine it, but I quickly change the subject just in case. "You Get An A and I Love Drama are also good." I point out the ham and pineapple pizza first, and then the Greek pizza.

"There's one called Snow Storm?" Saf stares down at the Spinach, Goat Cheese, and Mozzarella pizza. I don't mention Jess named it, and Saf moves down the list. "And Best Summer Ever," she reads.

"That was Zara's," I tell her.

Saf giggles and starts leafing through the binder more quickly. "Sit and Eat? Kaitlin Quit? You're On the Team?" She laughs harder.

"Jasper picked the last one," I tell her. "And I don't know if you met Kaitlin, but she only lasted like a week. That one's her favorite."

"Do you guys all still work here?" Saf asks, flipping to another page.

"Not since this summer. Jasper and I have practice right after school, and..." I'm about to tell her Jess and Kaitlyn have cheer practice, but I don't want to bring up my ex, so I move on, "and Zara only worked here to spend time with Jasper."

"She quit as soon as he did?" Saf guesses.

"Exactly."

"So you guys got to name all of these?"

"Yup, and design the menu. It's way better than the old one." Which was one page with really small writing and boring names like Greek, Canadian, and Deluxe.

"They're awesome." Saf laughs and keeps reading out names, but I'm too busy staring at her to really pay attention.

We had so many laughs making these menus, and I love that I now get to share them with Saffron. I love having fun with her. I know we did that last night at the library, but today it seems like a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders.

How have I never noticed the way her cheeks dimple when she smiles? Or the way she leans forward and hunches her shoulders a bit when she's excited? Saf has a glow about her and a sparkle in her eye and I wish I could make her feel this way every day.

"Look at this one, it's called—what?" Saf asks when she notices I'm staring at her, probably with some version of a goofy grin on my face.

"Nothing." I quickly look away, embarrassed to be caught staring at her like an idiot. "What do you want to order?"

"Everything." Saf grins. "Can we get a different one each time we come here?"

"Are you asking me out?" I tease.

"Kind of." Saf turns bright red.

"On fifty dates?"

"Fifty dates?"

"That's how many pizzas are on the menu." I grin, exaggerating just a little. "Fifty."

"Oh, um..." Saf's blush depends, "we don't have to get all of them."

"I think we do," I grin. I want way more than fifty dates with my mate, but trying all the pizza's at Joe's is a great place to start. "I haven't tried some of these in years."

"You've had all of them?"

"Sure," I shrug. "We used to come here all the time when I was a kid, and we got to eat for free during our shifts. I definitely want to try all of them again." With Saf. "Where should we start?"

"No More Homework sounds good." Saf giggles. I'm really glad she's picked the pizza I named.

I grin and wave Leanna over. She's human and she graduated from high school last year, but she decided to take a year off to work and save up for college. She was my boss over the summer, but now that I don't work here anymore, we're more like friends.

Lee's wearing the Joe's ribbon—basically a white, silk ribbon that has the words Joe's Pizza written on it—tied like a sash. It was Kaitlin's idea to order them so all the waitresses could wear them as belts, head-bands or scarves instead of "those ugly t-shirts." That's quoting her, because they were just fine by me.

"This is Saffron," I introduce my mate. "Saf, this is Leanna."

"Hey, everyone just calls me Lee."

"Hi, Lee. I love the menus." Saf still looks relaxed, and she seems pretty comfortable talking to Lee, not at all like an Omega. Amaryllis would probably hide behind me, or order her food and ignore Lee, but Saf doesn't seem to be freaking out at all.

"Aren't they great?" Lee grins. "Hey, didn't I just see Jasper and Zara?"

"Yeah, they had to go." I grin. "Exercise."

Saf almost chokes and my grin widens. I'm surprised Lee didn't notice the Zasper PDA from earlier. Or maybe she's just so used to it from all the new mates that come through here that she's not the least bit surprised. That and she's probably walked in on a make-out session or two in the lunch room while we worked here this summer.

"Don't tell me they're on a diet?" Lee demands. "I never get to see them anymore."

"No way. You know those two can't go a week without Joe's."

"Oh, good. So what can I get you two?"

I order an extra-large No More Homework and two sodas. Lee is pretty used to orders of extra large everything—and our lunch portions—and she doesn't even bat an eye.

Once she's gone, I slide out of the booth and take a seat across from Saf. If I keep sitting next to my mate, I might pull a Jasper and stick my tongue in her mouth, and I don't think that would go over well. Based on how Saffron reacted to the Zasper PDA, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't appreciate it. That and I want to save our making out until we can do it without interruptions in private.
