Alexia and Scott slipped through another entrance in the garage, and they were welcome by another big hallway ahead of them. They were guided by the fluorescent flickering lights, Scott walking to close to Alexia, afraid that if he was two steps away, she would just disappear.

It was a good thing that Scott was close, it was his arm that wrapped around her waist and pulled her to him that saved her from getting punched by the voltron wolf. Alexia recovered from the scare, and turned to face the twins, her eyes widening slightly.

"Oh my god,"

Scott let go of her, growing fur on his face now, and rushed towards the twins. Alexia sighed, reaching for her dagger one more time that night. She was ready to throw it right into their backs, but that before the voltron wolf started suffocating Scott against the wall.

Alexia's eyes changed immediately, it seemed a lot easier now. She had tried other times, and she didn't seem able to control it, but now somehow she was. Alexia approached the voltron wolf, still holding into her dagger. It was a lucky chance, seeing they were too busy chocking the life out of Scott's body to worry about her, and when Alexia grabbed their left arm it was too late to react, so she was able to pull them and push them against the other wall.

It wasn't ordinary strength what she had, that was clear by now.

"Tell us where she is!" The voltron wolf groaned in anger while standing up.

"You wish," She shot them a hard stare.

Before Scott could recover from his lack of air to help Alexia, she had already been lifted into the air by the twins, his hands around her white throath. It wasn't the first time she was suffocating that night, but that didn't mean it was easier. It really wasn't.

"We tried not to hurt you but good thing Deucalion isn't here to see."

Her body was flying against the wall, her face hitting the ground when gravity caused her to fall. Alexia moaned in pain, her hand searching for her face immediately, staining her fingers with blood. She didn't lose time feeling sorry for another bruise on her body, instead she looked up to see what was happening, the twins walking towards Scott again.

Alexia let out a quiet cry, her body protesting when she tried to get up. She felt scared for Scott, but a sigh of relieve left her lips when she recognized Melissa, who slammed the defibrillator against the twins' back, the voltron wolf ripped apart as they fell on the ground.

Scott was on the ground, his face showing an eternal relieve, same as Alexia. Melissa rushed to her son's aid, helping him stand up. Scott looked over to Alexia worriedly.

She gestured from the floor to tranquilize him, "I'm good."

He still went to her, helping her stand. Melissa looked at the two, happy to know they were both ok, that she hand't showed up too late to help them.

"It looked like you needed some help."

Alexia pointed out, "You are completely... correct."

They walked continued walking down the hallway, Melissa now walking by their side. It was Scott who asked her Mom why Deucalion let her go, breaking the silence.

"He said I was a gesture of goodwill." She explained.

Scott breathed, "He had to have a reason."

"Yeah, Deucalion doesn't do something without a reason behind it." Alexia agreed.

"If that means I should still be terrified, don't worry," Melissa replied with a soft smile, "I'm used to it by now."

They started walking faster, sprinting down the hallway. They didn't had much time, they couldn't afford to lose any of it. Not when the twins were still on to them, and another possible three psycopaths were still at the Hospital.

Alexia's sprint was cut short, however. A barrel of a gun pointed right at her face. Scott and Melissa stopped abruptly as well behind her.

"Oh my –." Alexia gasped.

"Alexia?" Chris' familiar voice called.

She looked away from the gun pointed right at her face, recognizing now the three people she hadn't laid eyes on since the recital. It was Chris Argent, behind him Isaac and Allison.

"Dad." Alexia breathed in relief, her voice still sounding a bit shaky from the scare, "You know, I think it's safe to put down the gun. Whenever you want. Better now..., if you want to."

Chris quickly put the gun away, "Sorry." He then pulled her into a tight hug, he had been worried sick about her. She hand't been answering calls, texts. But despite the noticeable bruises on his daughter's face, she was alive. "God, you're ok."

"I'm fine." She smiled at him when they pulled away.

Allison hugged her next, and Alexia allowed herself to close her eyes for a second. She could have die tonight, she almost did. That kind of scare changes the way we look at people we love, how we hug them. We want to hold them closer and never let go.

When the raiven-haired girl pulled away, she managed to notice something Chris' hand't. The large bruise around her sister's neck. It was hard to see with that flickering lights, but Allison had scanned Alexia for injures, so she caught it right away.

"What happened?" Allison gasped, "It looks like you were-."

"Yeah, that...." Alexia sighed, tired of recalling it. Before explaining, her eye rested on her Dad, she knew he would freak out. "It was the Darach, she, also known as Ms. Blake, tried to kill me tonight. I had a premonition I would die but I'm ok! I'm alive!"

Isaac was the first to lose it, concern over her growing. "What did you say?!"

"W – What?" Chris' voice broke down a bit, "She tried to kill you by suffocating you?"

Alexia glanced up to Scott for a second who was still standing by her side, looking for confort. She didn't want to talk more about it, it was over to her. Even tho she would probably never forget it. Scott looked up at her father and Isaac, finding himself tranquilizing both.

"Stiles' Dad stopped her from even getting close."

It was a lie. Jennifer had gotten too close to killing her.

Allison was about to reach for her sister's hand but, when she looked down, she was able to see Alexia shove her shaking hands into her pockets. It was clear to her that her sister was far from ok. Allison sometimes forgets Alexia is human too. She is so used to her sister always being the one making the big joke, she sometimes had to remember herself Alexia was suffering as well. It is absolutely terrifying to realize the deep suffering the happiest looking people are able to hide inside themselves, behind their smiles.

"What are you even doing here?" Chris' questioned.

"We might have a Darach running around who we are trying to protect from getting killed by an Alpha pack, who happens to also... be here." Alexia explained sarcastically, so she could mask how unconfortable she was talking about what had happened to her, "And we might have a dying Cora Hale in our hands as well... Hypothetically speaking, of course."

"Of course." Allison repeated her sister's last words in an amused tone.

Eventually, they all started walking down the hall together.

"Where is Derek and Ms. Blake exactly?"

"Stuck..." Scott answered, "In the elevator."

"This keeps getting better." Isaac muttered.

"We can only get them out if we turn the power back on." Alexia explained.

"Wait," Melissa intervened, "If we do that they will hear it."

"They will attack Jennifer and Derek right away." Allison concluded.

Scott agreed, "And we definitely can't fight them."

"We have guns." Chris spoke up.

"It's too risky, Dad." Alexia shook her head, "They want her dead dead, and if we can't stop them than there's nothing else we can do for Cora and Stiles' Dad."

It was Isaac who opened the door to their right, gesturing for everyone to get in. Talking and plotting while walking down a hallway wasn't really the best idea. So everyone gathered around the table in the center, trying to set up a plan.

Chris asked, confused, "Why do they even want to kill her so much?"

"So she won't kill me." Alexia replied with a sigh.

"I'm really confused." Isaac frowned.

"Look, if Jennifer does kill me Deucalion will never have me. Besides, I think he is here for me too." She thought out loud now, "He wants me to join his pack as soon as possible. Jennifer is killing his plan here."

"Why is Deucalion so worried about to want you to join that fast?" Allison wondered.

"That Alexia joins my pack as a Guardian." Scott spoke up, having the courage to say now what he could never tell to Alexia's face before and she to hear from Ms. Blake, "A True Alpha does not need to bite a Guardian to have. It's... It's about connection..."

Melissa glanced at her son, "True Alpha?"

"Me, Mom."

The entire room fell silent. Everyone who didn't know, still processing the information. It was a lot to take in, Alexia was aware of that. Even she was having trouble thinking straight with all the new information surfacing. It was all becoming a bit too much.

It was Chris' who broke it, "I don't even know who this teacher is."

"Brown hair, kinda hot." Everyone turned to face Isaac, raised eyebrows at him, "It was just an observation."

"Sure." Alexia muttered with a knowing smile, adding later, "So what's the big plan here?"

"I have an idea." Allison called their attention, "It involves mirrors."

It was a good plan, it had everything to work out. Except, there are always small details they can't predict, small little things that could ruin everything. They can never predict what the others are planning, what they plotted. They go on blind, and sometimes it goes wrong.

It was Scott who set motion to the plan with a text to Derek. Melissa and Alexia had already taken off to the generator, their part was the easiest, all they had to do was turn the lights back on, going back inside when they did.

Alexia's phone buzzed on her pocket and she immediately reached for it, the fear that some part of the plan could have gone wrong haunting her. But it was a text from Stiles.

Stiles – PARENTS ARE GUARDIANS! Jennifer escaped! SCOTT'S MOM!

It were simple words, but that stopped Alexia's heart.

"What's wrong?" Melissa noticed the girl's terrified expression, "Alexia?"

"We need to run..." She numbled, still shooked by the content of the text, but when Scott's Mom didn't move, Alexia had to turn to her and shout, "Run! Now!"

They ran down the hallway, Alexia's still wet brow hair was flying everywhere. Her goal was to get outside the Hospital, hopefully. Jennifer wasn't there to save anyone, she was there to get Melissa to be sacrificed along with Stiles' Dad. It all worked just fine with her plan.

While they were running, Alexia felt it. The Darach was too close already, the energy reaching Alexia's body, she could hear Jenifer's voice in her head. She wasn't sure how it was possible, but it was just another thing she didn't time to think about.

Let her come with me, Alexia.

Well that woman was crazy if she thought Alexia would ever let go of Melissa. The brown-haired girl looked behind her, Scott's Mom staying behind. She reached for her hand, pulling her ahead with her. The exit couldn't be too far, right?

Alexia's phone started buzzing in her pocket again, it was too many buzzing to be just a text. So she figured someone was calling, again in an unappropriated time. She reached for it with her free hand, who knows what could have happen with her friends.

Stiles' panicking voice welcome her, "Alexia, Scott wants to go with Deucalion!"

"Well, don't let him! I'm literally running for my life over here with Melissa!" Alexia shouted to the phone, breathless from all the running, "Melissa, we are almost there!"

"You are with Scott's Mom?!"

"I can see her, Alexia!" Melissa tightened the girl's hand, "She's right behind us!"

Alexia stopped abruptly, realization rushing to her, the phone slipping down her ear.

They would never get to the exit, not while the Darach was inside their heads. They had been running for at least ten minutes, and Beacon Hills Hospital didn't had that many hallways. They had probably never even been too close to the exit, they had been running in circles the whole time. The Darach would never let them out, so it didn't matter how much they run.

Alexia's hand slipped through Melissa's one, the woman looking at her in confusion and fear. She couldn't read the brown-haired girl's expression, but could definitely see the tears forming in her beautiful eyes.

"Run, Melissa." Alexia told her in a terrified calm voice, "Just keep running."

"W – What?" Melissa frowned in realization that the girl was thinking of staying behind, "No!"

"You have to go, now."

"Scott would never forgive me for letting you do this!" The woman argued, aware of how much her son cared for that girl standing in front of her, "So, you are coming with me!"

"No, Scott would never forgive me if I let you die." Alexia replied, a tear rolling down her face as she spoke the next words, "Tell him I'm sorry. Tell him it's ok."

Melissa tried to reason once more with her, but couldn't. Alexia was too determined to listen to her. So, she ran just like the Argent girl told her to, crying while she did.

"Stiles?" Alexia pressed the phone against her ear again, "Are you still there?"

Stiles gasped, "Thank god! What's happening, Lexi?"

"It's ok. Your Dad is ok, Sty." She sobbed, "Just don't let Scott go with Deucalion."

"What do you mean?!"

"My fate, my responsibility."

Alexia could see Jennifer stopping in front of her now, a dark smile on her lips.

There are many ways to be brave in the world. Sometimes it's nothing more than gritting your teeth through the pain. Sometimes bravery involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater. Or sometimes bravery involves giving up on your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else.

That last was the sort of bravery Alexia knew in that moment.

That was probably what Jennifer meant when she said Alexia's possible sacrifice would be beautiful. Real sacrifice should be done from love, from necessity. You can sacrifice and not love, but you cannot love and not sacrifice, and that's how Jennifer knew how to make Alexia give up, sacrifice herself, it was love. It was always love. Love makes us stupid and weak.

"Scott, don't go!" Stiles shouted to him, "Alexia begged for you not to go!"

"Where is she?" He turned to face his best friend the rain mixing with the tears, and when he didn't say anything, he repeated with urgency, "Where is Alexia?!"

Stiles looked down at his soaked feet, it was Deucalion, who stayed behind Scott that answered, bitterness in his voice, almost turning into anger.

"The Guardian gave her life for the Guardians."

Christopher Argent stumbled against the wall, "No..."

"I can save her, Scott." Deucalion insisted, offering the werewolf the only thing he wanted in that moment, a way to save Alexia, "Join me and I'll save her."

"Don't, Scott!" Melissa bursted through the exit, finally stepped outside into the rain, everyone facing her, especially her Scott in a second of relief, "Alexia said she was sorry, and it's ok."

Scott felt his heart breaking just like all the promises he had made her.

"She begged me not to let you go, Scott. You can't!" Stiles shouted, pleading.

"It's the only way," Scott sobbed, "I have to save Alexia. I have to..."

He turned his back on his family and friends, walking way with Deucalion. It didn't seem to him that he had much more to lose now, Alexia had been taken. He regretted a lot of things he didn't tell her when he had the chance, he regretted not being with her to stop her, he regretted not kissing her before letting her take off with her Mom for the generator. Scott was afraid he would never kiss her again, or see her again.

Alexia was still on the hallway, it wasn't Jennifer's face looking back at her anymore. It was the Darach, his true and terrifying face. Death was staring at her wearing all black just like it was supposed to, and it didn't hesitate to hit Alexia in the head when the girl closed her eyes, surrendering. She fell to the ground, utterly and completely alone.

It was too late to be saved, Alexiarealized. She was already surrounded by death.
