I woke up to my phone buzzing on my night stand so I answered it.

"Hello?" I groaned.

"Do you need a ride to school?" I heard Lia's voice.

"No Alex is coming to pick me up." I sat up and smirked.

"Oh okay, see you at school." She hung up.

That actually wasn't the reaction I was hoping to get.

I climbed out of bed and got ready for school so Alex could pick me up.

"Have a good day sweetie!" My mother yelled as I raced out of the house and hopped into Alex's car.

"Did Lia call you and curse you out or something?" I asked excitedly.

"No?" He looked at me weirdly as he pulled off.

"Really?" I wasn't expecting that type of reaction. Maybe she is still on edge of the Abigail and Alex situation.

It was a surprisingly quiet car ride, not once did Alex say something goofy or stupid which was odd for him.

"Alex are you okay?" I finally asked.

"Yeah I'm fine, can I sit with you guys at lunch today?" He asked.

"Yeah sure why?" I questioned.

"I don't feel like explaining to my friends why my face is currently fucked up." He shrugged his shoulders.

I smirked and looked at his face.

He still had a black eye and a cut on his cheek. His jaw was bruised and he had a red cut on his bottom lip.

Pissing off Lia to the point where she hit you was one of the worst mistakes anyone could make.

We pulled up to the school and as soon as we got out, Alex quickly rushed into the building.

Maybe he just didn't want anyone to see his face.

I looked around and noticed Lia sitting under a tree while smoking a cigarette.

I scolded and stomped over to her with my arms crossed.

"When did you start smoking again?" I asked.

"When my life started becoming shitty." She shrugged and exhaled.

She held out her hand so I could help her up.

As I went to grab her hand, I noticed fresh looking cut wounds on the palm of her hand as it slightly shook.

"What the hell happened Lia?" I asked as I pulled her up and she winced.

"I went to go pet my cat and she scratched me." She shrugged and threw the cigarette down.

"Get rid of that cat." I rolled my eyes.

"It's a lot harder than it sounds." She shrugged.

I looked at her with a blank expression.

"Its just a cat, send it to a adoption agency or something since it's so mean."

"I guess."

We walked toward the school building in silence.

I looked over at Lia and noticed she didn't have her usual happy glow to her. Instead she looked extremely tired and defeated, her hair was untidy and slightly growing in, her gray eyes seemed dull and her skin seemed paler than usual.

"Yeah are you okay? You don't seem well." I pointed out.

She shrugged her shoulders. "Just tired of pretty much everything, seems like I can't do anything right."

The bell rang and she quickly walked away from me as I stood there in shock, I wasn't shocked by the fact she actually expressed herself to me but her actual sad words and the defeat laced in her tone.

I've never heard Lia sound so hurt or deafeated and here I am being selfish and trying to break her.

What she needs is someone to love and support her.

The bell rang signaling it was lunch time, I quickly rushed to the lunchroom where I bumped into Abigail who looked like she was just done crying.

"Abigail what's wrong?" I asked her.

"My life is falling apart." She laughed silently.

"Why do you say that?" I asked.

"Well my boyfriend just broke up with me and Alex won't even look at me or even answer my texts and now I've hurt Lia." She sobbed.

I grabbed her arm and led her outside, we sat under a tree and I calmed her down.

"Abby no one hurt Lia, except for your cat maybe." I chuckled.

She looked at me weirdly and shook her head.

"Clarity we don't have a cat what are you talking about?"

"Yes you do, it keeps scratching up Lia and leaving nasty marks."

That was when Abby burst out in tears.

"Clarity, Cecelia is doing that to herself."
