"So Alexander how do you know Clarity?" My father asked as we were all seated around the dinner table.

Alex sat next to me to piss Lia off so she sat across from me which was next to my mother and of course my dad sat at the head of the table.

"I only know her through Lia." Alex said politely.

"Ah and how long have you and Lia been friends?" My dad asked.

"Not as long as Clarity but pretty long." He shrugged.

"So I'm glad Lia and Clarity have made up and are friends again." My mother chimed in.

"Of course they were going to make up and be friends again." My father rolled his eyes.

"Im just saying I'm glad, that way Clarity isn't moping around the house like a lost puppy or something." My mother said.

"Why were you guys even fighting?" My dad asked.

Lia and I both looked at each other and then down at our plates, not wanting to answer the question.

"Alright well you kids can go upstairs or whatever while the adults clear the table, I want to talk to your father about something Clarity."

"Okay?" I questioned as we all got up and headed towards my room.

"You know Lia I always thought I would be the first guy you fuck." Alex smirked as I closed the door.

Lia collapsed on the bed and rolled her eyes and snorted.

"Alex watch out, your whore is starting to show." She smirked.

I giggled and collapsed on the bed next to her.

"Whatever, so what was it like, did you like it?" He asked.

"I think it was one of the worst experiencesI ever had, it was terrible and I'm not exaggerating." She shuddered.

"Alright come on guys that was my ex boyfriend." I said a little uncomfortable.

"Sorry."

"So Clarity have you ever met Lia's mom since you guys are like dating now?" Alex asked.

"We aren't dating and in the past Clarity has refused to meet her." Lia spoke for me.

"Ms. Summers is actually a pleasant woman unless talking about Lia then she is a total bitch."

"Hey watch your mouth, don't disrespect my mother." Lia snapped.

Alex put his hands up in surrender and shook his head.

He looked down at the floor and then looked at us as his eyes lit up with excitement.

"Oh my gosh Clarity is your last name Winters?"

"Yes?" I questioned.

"Your last names are polar opposites." He smiled.

Both Lia and I rolled our eyes as Lia picked up a pillow and threw it at Alex.

"Good job genius, we've been friends for a long time why wouldn't we know that?" She said.

"Well if you guys are gonna be mean to me I'm gonna leave, I have to get home anyway." He saluted to us and walked out the room.

"How come you don't want him with your sister? He's actually kind of sweet and a gentleman." I asked.

She turned to me and shook her head. "Don't be fooled but stuff like that, I truly know Alex and I don't want him around my sister, it's my job to protect her since my mother is doing a shitty job."

"I wish I truly knew you." I said quietly but she still heard me.

"What are you talking about Clarity?" She asked annoyed.

"Im just saying that sometimes I feel like I barely know you, you keep your emotions to yourself, you're closed off, you only tell me what I want to hear." I said.

She stared at me for a little and studied my face. She got up from my bed and headed towards the door.

"Clarity I don't know what going on with you right now but I'll call you tomorrow." She said.

I quickly scampered up and blocked the doorway.

"This is what im talking about! You run away from your feelings! If your in a situation where you have to confront your feelings you just run away!" I yelled at her.

"Get out of my way Clarity." She said while not looking at me.

"No Lia I'm confused, I'm confused about my feelings for you and I need you to help me with them but if you can't even tell me how your feeling right now, I don't think we should really be a thing right now." I sighed.

"I don't care Clarity just get out of my way before I make you move." She threatened.

"What are you gonna do fight me?" I questioned.

She pushed me out the way and quickly scurried downstairs.

"Cecelia why do you have to be so closed off?! Just open up to me please!" I yelled at her as she walked out the door.

I looked to see my parents sitting on the couch looking at me with confusion.

I quickly went back upstairs and collapsed on the bed.

Why the hell did she have to be so complicated? Im supposed to be her best friend and she won't even open up to me.

"Clarity?" My mother popped her head through the doorway.

"Yes?" I looked up at her.

"Did you guys have another fight?" She asked as she say down on my bed.

"No she refuses to open up to me." I sighed.

"Well Lia has been through a lot in her childhood, maybe that has something to do with her incapability to express her feelings." She suggested.

"So now she has someone to talk to! She can talk to me!" I huffed.

"Clarity you're a very privileged child, you've had a happy life, both parents that love and care for you. Nothing has really happened to you. Lia doesn't have that type of life, she just doesn't want to talk about it and you can't force that out of someone."

"How can someone as perfect as her have a hard life, she's only had a problem with her mother and she's got over that." I said confused.

My mother got up and walked toward the door.

"Clarity sooner or later you will understand." She sighed.
