BUT THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL. Any questions, comment below.

Flashback

"I still can't believe you are turning 16," I squealed for the 20th time, Cara just rolling her eyes. "November 15 is like my lucky day. I'm planning your sweet sixteen. Now imagine this..." I said, rolling onto her bed and sitting by her. "A huge white tent in my backyard. All turquoise and peach decorations. A massive golden statue of you at the centre. You enter and I start throwing diamonds everywhere. Then cheesecake. Cheesecake everywhere."

Cara just pushed me playfully, before getting up from the bed and walking to her dressing table, sitting on the chair. "Yeah sure. Definitely cheesecake. And who is going to pay for all this," she asked, spinning around and raising an eyebrow.

My hand made a 'whatever' gesture. "Bro I have like 7 dollars and 89 cent. It will cover it all. Don't you worry."

"Yeah sure it will," Cara huffed, sarcasm evident in her tone. Then she became more serious. "But it's not really 16 I'm looking forward to. Its 17 and 18." I sat up, looking at her cluelessly.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, 17 will be my last year of being a minor. And when I'm 18, I'm a legal adult. Maybe I can't drink but I can finally make my own decisions. But for my 17th birthday, you have to do something special."

"Special?" I laughed, falling back onto her bed. "Like what?"

"I don't know......." she mumbled, "maybe sing?" Her voice went higher towards the end as I sat up, narrowing my eyes.

"No. I am not singing. I sound like a hyena laughing and dying at the same time mixed with the sound of a cat whining."

Cara got up, sitting in front of me with her pleading blue eyes. "Me and you both know that's a cover up for your real voice. Please Ari. No one knows that you can sing really good besides me and Damon. Plus, it will be nice that you reveal your new talent on my birthday."

Now I know how it feels to be on the other side of the puppy eyes.

"Fine. For you."

Cara squealed, hugging me tightly. "Thank you. You make me feel so special."

"Yeah yeah," I brushed off. "Now let's go raid your fridge." We got up, and I glanced at the clock only to see that it was 11:38pm. "Oh shoe."

Hesitantly, I reached for my phone and prepared myself for the worst. I pressed the home button to see this:

49 missed calls from Daniel

53 messages from Daniel

1 missed call from Damon

Well I guess it wasn't THAT bad. I wasn't surprised that Damien hadn't call since he was at work. He had started his training so he left me in the hands of Daniel and Damon. Neither was I surprised by how many times Damon called me.

They told me to be back at 9:30 by uber.

Not my fault I got distracted

"Rain-check on the fridge raid?" Cara just nodded before calling for her little sister Layla whilst I looked for Daniel's contact. Finding it, I pressed it and waited for the yelling.

"ARIELLA YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?!"

There it was.

"I AM SENDING DAMON TO PICK YOU UP RIGHT NOW."

And he hung up-Great.

---------------

Sighing, I got into the black Maserati to see Damon's bored face. Ignoring his face, I fastened my seatbelt.

"You know I had to waste a minute of my call contract for you. And then I had to stop my really wonderful time with Trisha for you."

"TMI," I gagged. "And I needed some extra girl time considering I live in a house with 3 guys. Plus I haven't seen Cara in like ."

Damon chuckled, starting the car. He just got his drivers license, and he's driving incredibly fast. "Girl time? What did you talk about? That boy you like? The one we beat up?"

I sighed, leaning my face on my hand, observing the lights that flew past me.

"Were you talking about how much you liked him? And how you're gonna get married? Trust me, you should just forget about him," he said, drifting around a corner.

"Shut up," I mumbled. I really liked this kid. His name was Quill. He's nice, smart funny and a gentleman. You don't find that often. I really did like him.

"He wouldn't get with you anyway." I looked down, knowing it was probably true.

He's angry Ari. Just put his words through one ear and out the other.

"He'd probably go for someone like Brianna. You know that really hot chick in your school. Like damn girl she got those looks."

Tears welled in my eyes. He's right. Quill would rather be with my bully Brianna.

Why would he go for me?

"If he ever did get with you, which will never happen, then he would leave after knowing how annoying you are. Everyone thinks that, but they never anything."

The car came to an abrupt stop outside our house. Quickly talking off my seatbelt, I got out and slammed the door.

"Don't take it out on the car idiot," Damon grumbled as he got out. My hands wiped away the tears as the front door opened.

"Me and you are talki-" Daniel began but I pushed past him, heading up the stairs and going to my room. After slamming my bedroom door shut, I took off my shoes and grabbed Nutty.

"Am I good enough for you," I muttered. Before he could answer, my door was pushed open by Damon. "If you're gonna scream at me for damaging your precious car, save it for tomorrow," I tiredly said, wiping my eyes. An audible sigh left his lips as I sat down on my bed, my back facing him.

"I'm sorry."

I didn't speak. "I was in a bad mood and I took it out on you," he explained as I felt the bed dip beside me. "I didn't mean anything I said."

My face turned towards him slightly. "Really?" I mumbled. He nodded, staring ahead.

"I'll never leave you. Daniel won't. Damien won't. Cara won't. That kid, Andy or something won't."

I laughed a little at Damon getting Drew's name wrong.

"Even if the whole world is against you, we'll stick by you."

Flashback ended.

I wake up.

I get dressed.

I eat something small.

I come home to an empty house.

I do my homework.

I train

I shower

I go to sleep

And that's how it's been for the past 3 days. When I went to visit Cara, she cried and apologised for letting them take me that day. I told her it was okay. I guess it was strange, seeing Cara in such a vulnerable state. She hardly ever cried. It was her birthday today though, so I will try and be happy for her.

When I got to school, everyone looked at me like I was some alien from planet Zog. Rumours spread across the hallways of school. They had all watched the news, and I was well known in school in the worst way. They knew that Daniel died, the cover story being 'he was in a car crash'. And they had been told by Damien that Damon had gone to visit a dying relative. Teachers asked me why I didn't go too, but I just sunk in my seat and stayed quiet.

Teacher gave me looks of pity. Students gave me looks of disgust, confusion, curiosity and much more.

My brothers, I mean brother, didn't go to school anymore since he finished. But after many hours of reassuring Damien, I told him I was safe. He trusted me that I could protect myself, mainly because I threw him over my back when he put his his hand on shoulder.

"Hey Ari," Cara greeted, hugging me. I stood there and took it, awkwardly patting her on the shoulder. I gave her a wide smile, before taking something out of my bag. "If you got me a present, then I am going to strangle you slowly, and hide you in the sewers for Pennywise to come find you."

Her face displayed her seriousness. Despite that, I took it out.

"No you didn't," she stepped forward.

"Yes I did."

"YOU GOT ME A CAR?!" She excitedly said. I nodded, handing her the keys to a white BMW. "Oh my...is it the one with the-"

"Yep."

She had been learning how to drive, and once she got to 17 she could actually drive. I gave it to her because it belonged to Damon, and he told me to give it to Cara on her 17th birthday since she had been in love with that car. (Don't know what the driving age or anything to do with driving in America is like)

"Now come on. Hell awaits us."

-----------------------

"You okay Ri?" Andrew asked me for the 10th time. I nodded, slamming my locker shut. I noticed how Drew gave Cara a worried look, but I ignored it.

"Yeah, apparently she was kidnapped. She probably fakes it and wanted more attention. Was her brothers being popular, rich and hot not good enough?"

My hand closes into a fist as I tried to ignore the whispering and looks I was getting.

"I heard there was some gang and mafia business involved. I bet it was all fake."

"I think we should Ri," the voice seemed so far and distant compared to the ones I was previously hearing.

"She looks so different. Like what a freak. Her parents are dead; her brother is dead. Another brother is gone, probably because he knew she was coming back. And I doubt she could survive being involved with stuff like the Mafia and gangs and stuff. She'd probably end up like her parents and brother."

"Ri don't!"

But he was too late to stop me. Because my fist landed on the girl who was behind me's jaw. The one who said those words knowing I was there.

She fell to the floor, holding her jaw in anguish. "You freak! You just come back and take all the attention from us. Where will that leave us?"

And she still can use her mouth.

"With the other prissy bitches, that's where you'll be." And before I knew it, the owner of the voice's ruby red heel dug into the girls stomach.

Even I felt that Cara. But dayymm I feel so good.

"Say something now," I sneered, before walking off.

"You heard her. But next time, I'll make sure my heel goes in your face. Bitch," I heard Cara hiss, and the sound of another groan of pain.

I love school.

------------------------

"-and that is how we know that hydrogen is present. Now grab yourself a partner and let's do this small experiment."

Do they think I'm in fudging 6th grade. Doing something like this?! Looking around the class, I tried to find Cara. She was at the back with a few girls who were wishing her happy birthday, giving her small presents and stuff.

As I made my way, I noticed how all the girls went stiff, their eyes widening before running off. I guess this is what my brothers felt like when they approached random kids.

As we set everything up, I got a text

Unwanted child 1

A small smile grew in my face, only falling when I realised I didn't need the number 1. There was only one  in the house. The other two were gone.

Where is Cara having her birthday?

Why does he wanna know that? I nudged Cara, who was putting the magnesium in the flask, and showed her the message.

"My house, why?"

"Not sure," I mumbled, texting him back.

'Already knew that. It's been moved to my work building'

The mayo?! I texted him back, my fingers tapping at the speed of Barry Allen, that beautiful being.

WTM?! Why?

Because one, her house wouldn't hold the amount of people coming. Two, I wanted to be a good brother to my lil sis's by helping her best friend. Just need to tell everyone.

Slowly, I moved the phone so Cara could seem.

Her eyes widened. "But how am I supposed to tell everyone? The whole grade is coming, as well as family friends and relatives.

How they all gonna know.

I texted.

Like this.

And with that message, every students' phone in the class made a sound, indicating they got a message.

Oh.

And judging by the messages Cara was getting confirming the details was proof.

That's great...I guess...

----------------

Sighing, I threw my back on my  bed, sitting next to it whilst taking my hands through my hair.

I can't live like this.

I can't just go back to being....normal. Nothing will ever be normal.

When I looked up, my eyes caught the folded up letter that had been sitting on my desk, a collection of dust forming on top.

It was Damon's letter. One he wrote for me.

I should feel honoured that he was bothered to actually write something down for me.

After Damien told me Damon was gone, my heart dropped. Did he mean dead? Did he mean that Damon left? And when I spoke my thoughts aloud, Damien answered with, 'read the letter'.

But I was scared. Scared of finding out if he was dead, like Daniel. I was scared that I would never see him again, and that the last time I did see him was when our brother was shot in front of us. I was scared that I was going to lose someone else I loved.

Hesitantly, I walked towards my desk, picking up the folded paper. Do it Ari! Stop being such a wuss and read it! My fingers slowly unfolded the letter, revealing the big but decent looking handwriting of Damon's.

To my weird, annoying, stupid, ogre-looking younger sister.

A small chuckle left my mouth as I finished reading that line. Then, it became more serious.

It's been hard.

We never really wanted to bring you into this life. In all honesty, I would have always wanted you to stay innocent and young-that way we could protect you. I was dragged into this life when I was 14, and it was hard for me. When I saw you sitting with that DiCarlo gang leader in the tent, I knew that you were going to be dragged into this shadow world of ours. I knew we couldn't hide this much longer.

And then all the kidnapping happened, before Daniel's death. When I woke up to see you gone and Daniel dead, something flicked inside my head. I couldn't deal with this anymore. I can't deal with losing the people I love most.

So I'm moving away. Far away. And I don't know whether I will come home or not. But who knows, I might actually miss you and your weird self.

I'm always looking out for you. I hardly ever tell you this, but I do love you Ari.

And be happy lil sis.

                                        -Damon

The floodgates of my eyes had opened once again. Flipping the paper, I realised that he had put those secret artistic skills to use and drew a picture of me.

P.S tell anyone I drew this and I will cut Nutty in half.

Smiling sadly, I brushed my hand over the paper, feeling some relief that he was alive.

BEEP! BEEP!

Oh shoe. Cara's birthday party.

Boring chapter. I know.

What do you guys want to see, apart from anyone rising from the door or Damon coming back!

So happy it's the holidays!!!! For a whole week.

Bye
