I covered my mouth and let out a muffled scream at the sight of all my friends and family.

I was pulled inside as balloons and confetti were present all around me.

I greeted all the people around me with a huge grin on my face as they wished me a happy birthday.

From friends, to family, everyone who I loved and knew where there and I reached the peak of happiness.

It wasn't the kinda party where you we're surrounded by people who genuinely make your heart warm.

The kind of party where you'd walk past someone then end up in an hour long conversation about your childhood.

The kind of party filled with laughs till your stomach hurt.

The kind of party where you'd say goodbye to everyone but end up staying for another hour.

It was the kind of party where you'd see that favourite cousin you'd only see once every few events.

It was my kinda party.

I took note of the fact everyone else was also dressed so elegantly, in suits and nice dresses. Even the younger kids came dressed to impress.

My smile widened when I saw my mother amongst them, I rushed to her and took her in an embrace.

"Happy birthday my love." She says with a beaming smile as we pull away from each other.

I take her into another hug before pulling away with my face scrunched up in annoyance.

"I'm guessing he's not going to show up." I say, making a reference to my father.

We hadn't seen him for about 7 months.

The last time anyone had heard from him was when he found out about Asher's expected child.

Since then he hadn't shown his face and the family had stopped worrying a while ago.

Any normal family would be worried to death and looking for him but frankly we couldn't even force ourselves to care.

Regardless of this, mother was the only one who had contact with him and she assured us he was doing fine.

Occasionally he would send us messages through her.

We hadn't been given a reason of his sudden disappearance but again we didn't care.

He had missed the most important stages of our lives.

I had assumed that he would at least show his face for my birthday seeing as I always spent it with my family one way or another.

"No but he wished you a happy birthday." Mother mumbles in hopes to make me feel better.

"He could've just told me that himself." I snap defensively.

"I'm sure your father has his reasons." She explains as if also trying to convince herself.

"Whatever." I mumble.

"Don't let his ruin your big day." She says, shifting the subject as she tucks a strand of hair behind my ear.

I take a deep breath before giving her a tight lipped smile before going to greet some other people.

I looked around to find Kairo and see him talking with Milan and Asher.

I weave through people dancing and sipping their drinks as they wish me happy birthday until I'm next to Kairo.

"You enjoying your party?" Kai asks, placing a kiss on my cheek.

Yes!" I beam excitedly.

"Happy birthday D." Milan says pulling me into a hug.

I thank her and feel my smile form into a pout at the sight of Asher holding my nephew.

Instinctively, Reign leans towards me from his fathers arms to which I respond by immediately taking him into my arms.

"Hey Reigny." I coo at him as he responds by blabbering and giving toothless grins.

I sip my scotch and watch in complete adoration as Dream smiles and mingles with everyone.

I had done everything to insure that today was absolutely perfect just for her.

When it comes to Dream, she gets anything and everything no matter the price.

Today was going to be all about her.

I had even more things planned for her, because her happiness is my happiness.

I kept eye contact with her as she walked back over to me with a natural sway in her hips.

The music transitioned into a slow romantic melody.

"For the second time today, would you care to give me this dance." She says, holding a hand out to me.

"I would love to." I mumble against her knuckles.

Dream leads me to the dance floor amongst other couples and places her arms around my shoulders as I wrap my arms around her waist and we sway.

"All this dancing is making feet are aching." Dream mumbles with her face buried in my chest.

"I'll rub your feet when we get home." I raps, my hands edging to her plump behind.

She rests her chin on my chest and looks up at me with a pout which I kiss.

"I gotta go pee." She mumbles on my lips.

I chuckle at her choice of words and slap her ass as she walks to the bathroom sign.

Her head snaps back to me at the contact "behave." She seethes.

I hold my hands up in surrender and she rolls her eyes playfully.

It had been an hour and Dream was still no where to be seen and it was almost time to cut her cake.

Milan had said she wasn't in the bathroom resulting in everyone grew worried and began looking for her.

I went outside in hopes to find her there but felt my heart drop when see no one there.

I turn to go back inside but immediately reach for the gun on my waistband and snap my head back at the sound of screams.

A car screeches away and I can hear the muffled screams of who I know is Dream as the car gets further and further away.

My face grows mortified and I immediately start shooting at the car but fail as it disappears around the corner.

"Fuck." I yell and punch the wall nearby.

I grab my phone and call in all my men for back up.

Whoever was responsible just started a war.
