• CHAPTER SEVENTEEN •

Musing |

Never in a million years did Philza ever think he would be in a situation like this: two of his sons, a woman he saw as his daughter, and Dream of all people causally having tea. It was an odd combination after everything that had happened as of late.

Following the emotional rollercoaster that their reunion was, Philza had invited them into the house he had been formerly house arrested in but now was free to do as he wished after Tubbo had lifted his imprisonment.

Clearly Tommy running away had hit Tubbo right where he was needing it because he had completely flip-flopped on several things in the last two weeks. He had taken a step back from being president, stating he wasn't in the right state of mind and wasn't able to perform at his best. Ranboo had also seemingly latched onto Tubbo and was helping him get the rest and recuperation he was in desperate need of.

Which Philza was really proud of because Ranboo wasn't the most confident or outgoing but he seemed to really get along with Tubbo and was coming out of his shell because of it.

Ranboo had been a continual guest for Philza during his imprisonment and it hadn't gone over his head that Ranboo hadn't really wanted any part of the (failed) hunting party for Technoblade. He had meekly come to Philza afterwards and stuttered his way through his apology, it had strongly reminded Philza of a very, very young Technoblade.

As in, just-freshly-taken-in-by-Philza Technoblade when he was only thirteen years old. The hybrid had spent the last several years up until that point in the Nether after being abandoned by his mother for his quote, unquote craziness.

Admittedly, Technoblade was a bit of a strange child (not counting the voices) but Philza chalked that up to being abandoned by his mother in a very dangerous place and having no human contact during those developmental years.

But look at him now! He was a mostly functioning member of society and it had only taken Philza a decade to help his oldest son not to freeze up with unfamiliar people. Technoblade had done the rest of the work himself!

And Y/N, who had always been such a caring person. Who was clearly weighed down by something that he had yet to get her to tell him. (Something had happened, something big and Phil was betting it had something to do with Dueport burning down a handful of years ago.)

But to know it was her of all people that his youngest had run into was something he could never have pictured happening.

It was sheer luck.

Or maybe it was divine intervention.

Who knows at this point.

(He's betting on the latter, however, for obvious reasons.)

Philza thumbed his bottom lip, almost counting down the seconds until Tubbo would arrive. It was guaranteed because the group had encountered Ranboo on the way here and Ranboo knew how distraught Tubbo had been at learning Tommy was missing.

So as he listened to his youngest son recount his time with Y/N, Philza waited, unsure how the Tubbo—Tommy reunion would go.
