"Ryan!" Kylee yells.

...

"Ryan!! Ryan!!! Open the door now!!" She's becoming a pain in the neck.

A few minutes ago she was breaking most things in my kitchen. I would've called the cops, but I wasn't feeling threatened. As long as she wasn't throwing the stuff (that she bought) at me I was perfectly fine.

But I did send a text to my friend Cole. Cole is the sheriff and also my college roommate from three years ago.

He knows about Kylee and has arrested her once apparently. Her last boyfriend turned her in for threatening to burn his car. Not really surprising, since she seems to have a thing for destroying cars.

Did I think clearly about that when I started dating her? Obviously not. That's why I ended up in this situation. Did I realize her medication is the only thing holding her back from committing homicide? About a few days ago, yes.

Cole would ask me these questions every time I'd try to break off our relationship. I guess he's a good friend for staying with me, an idiot.

Me: hey Cole. Kylee is on a rampage and is braking things in my kitchen... I'm in my bedroom right now and she's banging on the door. I would appreciate some assistance:)

Cole: I'll be over in 5. Stay in your room and if she gets through don't be afraid to knock some sense into her lol XD

"Ryan!!!! I'm not joking!! I'm not done with you!! Do you hear me??" Kylee remains at my door banging and kicking and screaming. I lay down on my bed and pull a pillow over my ears. Her voice gets muffled but I am still able to hear her.

Ugh...

Two minutes go by and I hear a car pull up outside.

Slowly rising from my bed I hop my way to the door.

"Hey Kylee?" I say interrupting her screaming. There was a pause on the other side as if she had forgotten I was actually in the room.

"WHAT!?" She yells back.

"Um... just a little heads up. Im expecting company in about 10 seconds, would you do me a favor and go open the door for them?" I ask. There was silence on the other side of the door.

"Uh, sure I guess. Who is it?" She asks a lot quieter.

"Oh, just a friend."

I hear her walk away towards the entry way.

So gullible....

I unlock my door and peak my head through. Kylee is walking away from me and in her hand is a vase...

I notice it's the vase from my kitchen window sill and I see the flowers thrown about everywhere. I hop back in my room to grab my crutches.

I hear the door open and a muffled voice.

"Kylee Saige, you are under arrest for destruction of property and threatening another person in the process."

It's Cole. I make my way into the hallway and see Kylee crying while getting handcuffed.

"Ry, tell them it's a misunderstanding. Tell them it wasn't me. Tell them you love me. Tell them it's not my fault. Tell them it was you. Ryan! Ryan!" Kylee yells at me as I walk into the kitchen with Cole following me totally ignoring her.

Another policeman is gently leading her through the door after Cole gives him a nod.

I sit down and rest my crutches on the island. My hands make their way to my temple, massaging a headache away.

"So... you've ended it... she's going to be spending about a week in jail... what are you going to do next?" Cole asks.

"What do you mean?" I ask looking up at him.

"Well, Kylee is the only one working between you two. How do you plan to pay for this house?" Cole walks to the cabinets, stepping over broken glass, to get a cup.

I hadn't thought about that until now. It's kind of hard to say an answer you don't know. I sigh and lean my elbows on the counter. My fingers grip my hair and I close my eyes.

After the few seconds Cole gave me to think about his question I come up with the only option.

"I'll probably sell the house." I say. Even though I was the one who said it, I felt my heart ache.

I've had this house for three years. It's a decently large home with a master bedroom and a guest room. There's a living room, kitchen, and a dining room.

"I now realize it was a bad idea to rely on Kylee's money to support me." I add slowly. "Do you know any good apartment buildings?"

Cole pulls out a chair twisting it around so his chest is resting on the back of it. "Yeah my mom owns one on the east side of town. It's small, a little old, but I think she'd give you a good deal." He says.

Cole's mom is pretty great. Every time I went through crap with my mom, Karen, she was there. Not just for me, but also for Karen. She's an old mother with wise wrinkles on her forehead and even wiser blue eyes. I would trust her with anything.

"You could stay with me and Lauren for a few weeks until you find a job and earn money for it." Cole adds after my thinking.

"I can't do that. If your mom gives me a deal on an apartment I'd be grateful, but staying with you and your wife?... I can't do that to you. I'm a wreck right now." I say.

Cole laughs a bit, "you think you'll be a burden?" He asks.

"Duh! I'm almost 100% positive that I'd be a burden."

I'm personally lazy compared what people think. If I get a chance I'm on my phone or watching tv in bed. I hardly do laundry and I usually order fast food. Yes I'm fit, only because there's a gym next door and Kylee has gotten me a gym membership.

"Ryan, Lauren would be happy to help you get a job. I mean heck, it's her job to help others get jobs. You may rarely be in the house because you'll be looking for a job. You actually have a goal to reach." Cole says with a 'I know your lazy but...' look on his face.

I shake my head once again rubbing my temple. "Promise me you'll kick me out when I become a nuisance." I say and Cole laughs.

"I promise."

Cole left an hour ago after leaving money for me to get someone to clean the house.

I argued that I could clean it after my foot wrap came off tomorrow, but he left money, patted my shoulder and walked out.

So now I'm on my laptop looking up cleaning facilities and phone numbers.

"Hello, this is Wash and Dry Co., I'm Hannah how can I help you?" Says the first line.

"Hey Hannah, do you by any chance come to houses to clean?" I ask.

"Please hold, I'll ask the manager."

Then the cringe music starts playing. You'd think she'd know the answer since it would be obvious. Do you have a company car that goes to houses? Yes or no? That easy.

The music stops.

"Sir?" the Hannah girl says.

"Still here." I say.

"Um... the company car is currently at another customers house and won't be back until 5 to 5:30 tonight. We close at 7 so there won't be time to do a home larger than a two room apartment after the car gets back. The rest on the week is booked as well."

There was a pause.

"Oh" I say realizing she was done speaking. "Um... my house is too big and I need a quick clean so I'll try another place." I say.

She says goodbye and I try another.

After three companies the fourth one, Washington Washers, finally agreed to clean my house while I am at the hospital tomorrow morning.

Cole left a perfect amount of money and I told them it would be on the table in the entry way when they arrived.

Then I called the hospital to schedule a car pick up at 8:30 tomorrow morning to bring me to the hospital.

I had to use whatever was left of my savings to pay for that.

After finishing all the calls I made my way to my room. I had lunch at the hospital this morning and it was about dinner time. But I currently don't have food since Kylee had thrown a fit. She had thrown left over Chinese food on my windows and the left over pizza was clogged in my sink.

I gave loud sigh as I laid on my bed. This next year is going to suck.
