We finally reached what seemed to be his house. Only the Daemon King would like to live so far into the wood. As expected of him, he must have been suspecting something since my dagger disappeared. Fuck, killing him and fleeing this place just became way harder. I started chewing on my nail, anyway, since I was here, I had to inspect my surroundings and look for any kind of transportation. The phones may be bugged and...

I heard a tapping sound and was about to turn around and see what it was, but I got tackled into the ground. I groaned and it took me a few second to regain my composure, but when I looked up, I seriously panicked. What the hell was that? A lion? But it was fucking black and had red eyes! I was going to be eaten, he knew... But he unexpectedly started to lick my cheek and was wagging his tail. His breath was horrible!

"S-stop! P-please..." I turned my head and tried to push the big animal off me.

"He missed you," said Cameron with a smile. "You two were inseparable in the past. I was even jealous once." I looked at him a little confused. What was he talking about? In the past? So I met the Daemon King in the past? Why didn't I remember it? Seeing a monster like that was hard to forget. "But I guess your memory hasn't come back yet?"

I nodded, "Yeah, I'm sorry about not remembering about us," I felt as if I forgot something very important.

Very important indeed, you fake.

"What was that?" I asked confused as I looked around? Didn't someone talk?

Cameron looked at me even more confused than I was, "Are you okay? Maybe you didn't sleep well last night?" He put his hand on my forehead and I had to fight myself to not slap it away. Endure it, Matt, it was for a good cause. "Let's eat something maybe it would help."

I nodded and followed the Daemon into the house. As we walked I looked around and hopefully it was a simple house. If I needed to escape, I wouldn't be able to get lost.

What did the Daemons eat? I heard that the King sometimes ate human flesh, so I didn't really know what to expect. Would it be poisoned? No, he wouldn't hurt his mate. Right?

He told me to sit on a chair and I obeyed as he went on the other side to make something to eat. I gulped. I would have to eat whatever he gave me. I couldn't refuse it or he would suspect something.

A shadow went over me and I carefully turned around to meet another powerful Daemon. I was slightly trembling, not from fear, but for not being able to attack him.

He then knelt on the floor making look at him wide eyed, "I deeply apologize for not being able to protect you, Matt." I could feel his guilt, but why?

"It's okay, don't worry about it," I answered vaguely so it could fit whatever he was talking about.

"No, I must receive a punishment for not being able to protect you as my King instructed me to."

Was he asking me to hurt him? It was really tempting. I could injure him and it would weaken the enemy's force or I could put it under my spell. I looked down on the Daemon and put my hand on his shoulder.

"It's okay, I forgive you," I answered as the King entered the room with a plate.

"Thank you," he said and I smiled. I was lucky, if I hit or used my voice against him, Cameron would have seen me. If he wanted an explanation for my actions, I didn't think I would be able to do it convincingly.

As the man, whose name was unknown, walked out of the room, my supposed mate put a plate of... What was that? Ham and marinated cabbage? "Thanks, what is it?" I asked as I took the fork and the knife.

The King looked at me before smiling, "Sauerkraut (choucroute), there's some marinated cabbage, knackwurst sausage, potatoes, and bacon."

"It smells good," I mumbled as I took some cabbage and bacon on my fork. I took a bite and as soon as I swallowed, I took another one. Why did I felt like I ate that before? But that was impossible, I never saw that dish before...

I gaped at my empty plate. Crap, I didn't even bother to check it he put poison or other things into it. It was so good that I forgot about it. I looked around and the Daemon King wasn't here anymore. When did he leave?

I sat up and went to put the dirty dishes into the sink. Time to explore. I walked out of the room with the first door I saw. I followed the hallway I was in as I looked at the different closed doors. I chose one randomly and opened it. It was an empty room. Was every one of them rooms? I opened another one and it was the same thing, another room. I walked into another hallway that leads to the main door and what I thought was a living room. I went to open the door and surprisingly it wasn't looked. Maybe I did really fool them? I stepped out of the house and walked around while trying to remember of my surroundings. I never saw a forest this leafy. I could only see spots of the perfect blue sky. As I walked further from the house, I thought I saw a small warehouse? I walked toward it with some difficulties, but I finished by reach it. The door wasn't locked, so maybe it was a normal, but huge warehouse?

I shrugged and was about to walk away when I heard a sound. What was that? A moan? I didn't really want to know, but I was so damn curious. I just hoped I wouldn't regret it. I opened the door slowly and as silently as possible. It was so dark inside. As I walked in, the sound was getting louder and cleared. I reached a door and the sounds came from behind it. I creaked it open and I nearly puked. I took a few steps back and to my horror, I met something hard, but it wasn't a wall.

"What are you doing here?"
